I’ve seen people make arguments how Ken Penders actually doesn’t legally own Scourge. He specifically owns “Evil Sonic,” as that character didn’t become Scourge until Ian Flynn’s run in the book, when Ken was long gone. I know it seems like a case of apples to oranges, but such minutia is everything in the court of law.

That’s cause Ken really doesn’t own scourge… anti sonic it’s possible, but scourge was designed by Patrick Spaziante.. so penders is basically violating Patrick’s copyright by claiming HE owns scourge.
Once, I saw a comparison between the Chaos Emeralds and Anarchy Beryl that likened the two to real life substances: if the aftereffects of the Chaos Emeralds could be compared to the equivalent of a caffeine buzz, the Anarchy Beryl could be compared to the equivalent of coming down from a cocaine high.
Im not sure if you heard of a fan comic called "Scourge: Eternal Blackout", but it's supposed to follow up Scourge's adventures after the crew returned to Anti-Mobius. Anti-Shadow does show up, and the current "arc" is focused on Anti-Silver and some weird but interesting inversion of the Iblis Trigger sub-plot from Sonic 06.
I do a lot of Sonic projects on YT and as the main voice actress of Rosy and Alicia and an on and off voice actress for Miles this is a good way for me to add more to their characters both in my own stories and others done by my friends so I know what these characters are about 😂 I needed this 👍

This is a very well done visual encyclopedia of the entirety of Sonic's older catalog of history in the comic books I'm not the biggest fan of every single story in the Archie comics mainly because some of them are poorly written and some of them are just downright just horrible (cough cough issue 150) but it doesn't change the fact that I still think it's fascinating and I think what you did was a very well done way to give the comic some justice In fact I hope one day that you and I get to collaborate on videos like this or even have me do some voice over on one of these videos if you cant I do hope that you consider 😎👍

Can someone tell me what was going through the colorist’s heads during this arc? Like halfway through the arc the color schemes of the Suppression Squad change for no reason, specifically Patch, Boomer, and Miles. I can’t even tell what’s supposed to be their actual colors since they never show up again.
The issue with that comes in the fact that something like that would have to be litigated in a court of law - cause while according to Penders' list of copyright registrations that he's provided the name of the character is "Evil Sonic" - if Sega wanted to claim ownership of Scourge, they would have to specifically contest that there is a meaningful difference between the characters of 'Evil Sonic' and 'Scourge' - which honestly? Might be difficult. From the way Penders tweets, it seems like he does in fact contact his lawyers before taking legal action - as after Sonic 2 was released he did make a public claim that he believed that the version of Knuckles' dad that appeared in the movie infringed on his ownership of the character, 'Locke', and that he also believed other concepts the film introduced infringed on his ownership of 'Enerjak'. He stated on twitter that he would be in talks with his lawyers, and being that we've heard nothing since then, I think he was told that his case was not strong enough in that instance. So at this time, Penders feels comfortable licensing out the name and design of Scourge and I'd have to assume he does this under the advisement of his lawyers. This isn't to say that Sega couldn't have their legal department split the hairs on the differences between "Evil Sonic" and "Scourge" to reclaim the character - but I don't think they really want to. Corporations don't do anything unless they see a financial benefit in doing so - and as much as I would love to believe that there would be reason for them to reopen this decades closed legal battle - I don't think they see any financial benefit to reclaiming Scourge, especially when they can make replacements like Surge without a legal battle.
