6:53 Gerald is a human, not an overlander. Overlanders are completely different from humans and have four fingers instead of five. Overlanders are also the result of the gene bombs de-evolving the human race, because Ivan Kintobor (ancestor of Julian Kintobor, aka the Robotnik of the Archie-verse) angered the Xorda, and they attacked Earth with gene bombs in response, which were supposed to wipe out all life on Earth, but instead de-evolved the human race and rapidly evolved the animal kingdom
Gerald is actually an Overlander in this continuity. In fact, all of Ivan Kintobor's descendants are Overlanders. Gerald having five fingers here was a mistake on the artist's part. It was a common error in the comics.

I know i'm very late, but i have a question about the ARK. In the Encyclopedia is mentioned that the ARK was created by the Overlanders for the "Hundred Moons of Mobius Project", but in the Story was the Humans for the "Project Shadow"..I don't know how the Overlanders and Humans make contact, if the Project Heritage happened with Nate Morgan and the Abraham Tower, when he was a Adult..Can you tell me your theories?
That bit of information seems to be a mistake on Ian's part. Gerald was the one who created the ARK in the comics, and he was still stated to be Robotnik's grandfather. Also, Gerald seemed to be the only Overlander who made contact with humans at the time, so Project Heritage happened sometime after Gerald's death.
