I just crafted my 6th & 7th Legendary weapons. My secret is WvW. It's not only good for Gift of Battle, but the reward tracks often offer financial assistance. You can also use it to stock up on mystic coins and area specific currencies. This leads us to ever-so helpful trophy shipment boxes, and all that's left is Gift of Exploration to grind.
WvW/PvP in GW2... when you come from games like TERA and PoE. Lackluster at best.

For new people... You got to buy crafting recipes for any of the gifts you need to make they are 10g each recipe
If you own SOTO, you can also exchange the Gift of Fangs, Scales, Blood etc. from Lyhr in the Wizards Tower. Additionally to the tier 3-6 crafting mats you need to pay 10 Globs of Ecto for each gift/exchange. No recipe or crafting profession needed.
Although if you're going for multiple legendaries in the long run, it's probably cheaper to buy the recipes and craft the gifts yourself. After all you still need 500 crafting anyway for some legendaries.

@@ThePhukst1k no, its because you need stacks of exotic luck essence for obsidian armors.
The new wizards vault helps a lot, but I had a lot of components. I was able to make two new legendarys in a month.
when I get a precursor I don't even use it. it sits in the bank until I'm ready to continue the push to make it a legendary. I don't equip it, it doesn't sit in any character inventory, I treat it like a crafting material that doesn't have a slot in the mat storage.
That's actually a pretty good way to approach precursors! Honestly I think I may start doing so myself!
Legendaries! My often proclaimed favorite feature of GW2. The idea of a timeless item that not only looks great, has cool effects, but has so much functionality across every account. It is a unique element not present in most MMO's and shows some level of dedication and grind. To me, they are sort of like a Runescape Skill cape turned up 100%.
If you are new you are in luck, as you have yet to tackle the majority of the game content so you basically are on the way to completing the Legendary necklace the Prismatic Champion's Regalia! An items that only really needs you to complete the stories and a slew of associated achievements. It is in essence totally free, it will just cost time. But since you are doing the story anyway, might as well tackle it!
Make sure like Caffeinated Dad says, you go for ones you like and want! You can get really focused and do what is essentially the most useful items like Vision, Aurora, any of the rings or amulets. Which I would argue offer the best utility. Or you can have fun with it, pick up a trinket, then a weapon, armor, whatever! A lot of these like he said synergize and work in tandem.
Also my last bit of advice as a somewhat newer player (2 years now!) use GW2Efficency to see what you need! Sometimes when you look at the wiki it might seem a bit daunting but the site breaks it down really well sort of in steps, and what you will need.
Leggies to me feel like its also something to work on with your time after full ascended. I often joke its the road getting there.

@@AGuyWithFace I hear ya, but that amulet is so valuable. And it isn't necessarily slogging through the story on its own because you will also be doing a series of achievements in the zones.
Yeah, I came back to gw2 after 7 years. I have all 8 real Craftings on max levels. I can craft full asscended gears with ease. But I stayed away from legendaries coz they are Soo expensive 😅. Now I belive it's time to try them 🎉
Buying supply boxes in eye of the north with tyrian defense seals is a good support for materials as well.
There are very few reasons to actually get a legendary besides the cool looks. The average gold cost is around 1200g, and those are the cheap ones. You can craft an Ascended for 40g, that means you could make 30 Ascended or 1 Leggy. And 1200g is on the lower end as most of the newer ones cost 2300g. Even if you make a piece that is used by multiple characters, it's highly unlikely it will be used by 30 characters. The exception would be Trinkets which can be used on ALL your characters. If you had 30 alts then you could give them all a Ring, Back, Accessory, or Amulet. These are the only worth while in my opinion. I only made Bifrost (staff) and HOPE (pistol) because I liked the looks and most classes in game use pistols and staves (especially with the new weapons coming out).
My first and only legendary so far is the Seasons of Dragons amulet, Prismatic Champion's Regalia.
You only need to complete achievements across all the Living World seasons to get it. This may also take quite some time but you don't have to pay a single copper (you need to own all seasons ofc).
Along the way you also get an ascended weapon, an End of Dragons precursor and a 32 slot bag, which is pretty nice for new and returning players. And while you're doing seasons 3 and 4 you can also start working on the respective legendary accessories tied to that seasons.
When deciding on a first legendary to get, that multiple of your characters can use, I'd definitely go for one of the trinkets (amulet, rings, accessories) first, because every (armor) class can use them and they give a lot of stats. That's why I'm currently working on the WvW ring Conflux next, while also starting to work on the WvW armor.

I'm working on Aurora and Warbringer at the same time right now. I can simultaneously do the step for unlocking the LWS3 armor piece from the WvW reward tracks while also gaining the ranks needed for the WvW back pieces. Although I might have to put that step on hold so I can farm Wintersday Gifts from the WvW reward track to sell for gold.
At the current pace I play though, I'm also considering crafting Conflux before Warbringer since ranking up feels kind of slow; and ranking up is my biggest priority right now over having enough skirmish tickets.
There are a few ways to turn karma into the crafting materials you need, one is the pct supply network agents, unlocked through the pct commander mastery line. Purchasing the “pact scout mapping materials” each day for karma (there are 6 search /wiki psna) is about 100 of your choice of T6 material every 2 weeks, just go to the map with the correct map rewards and spam them at the most convenient waypoint.
Converting LW currencies into volatile magic or unbound magic can then be exchanged with gold at LW map vendors for various types of shipments or unstable magic bundles, these contain rare materials, lodestones, and sometimes clovers if you buy the right ones this can be done for profit, or material gain, or a mix of the two.
best tip i can give about crafting a legendary (can essentially craft 1 every 2 weeks), farm out EoD metas, all 4 main maps, not sure about the 5th delve map havent checked it out enough to tell.
doing each meta every day will allow you to craft a legendary every 2 weeks or less, given you can afford the other materials, and if you cant, crafting the precursors and selling those is profitable enough that after selling 4-6 precursors you should have enough gold to craft the legendary weapon (can then sell that one for a massive profit and repeat the cycle, not needing to craft precursors for selling anymore because you should have enough gold to recraft legendaries at this point on)
Or atleast pull a me i get most my gold from T4s and recs. After full ascended its easy g for a couple hours work a day.
At that level of grind id prefer to just get a second job and trade dollars for gold.

Both legendary weapons I made recently were done very quickly thanks to the wizards vault. Not even overnight, more like in an hour. I had the gold to buy anything I was missing after everything they already give us.
dedicate a section of your bank. Once you get your precursor just place it in the bank then as you aquire your other gifts that are needed place them next to the precursor as a way to mark what was accomplished. Another tip is to look at the list of items on the wiki and make a plan aka what will be the easiest to do, what would be the hardest, do i have enough to do this part as of right now, what will take awhile, etc.
break it down to chunks and tackle those when you can.
I do that each time I'm crafting a legendary piece of gear : dedicated bank place, I can see my progression and it keeps my motivation up
I recently found out you can't use the same Legendary in main hand and off hand at the same time, so if you have Bolt you can't use it as your offhand sword, same with axes like Astralaria or Frostfang, so you do need other gear for those off hands slots.
I just crafted my 50th Legendary, alt parking helped me a lot.
Good gracious that's alot of legendaries!
Makes the game a lot easier to play, since I can jump into any game mode.

One tip to get started is to level up at the very beginning through gathering and crafting -- these gives a lot of exp when boosted. However, there's no way simplifying this. It is designed to take a long time to do. You basically have to save gold, karma, laurel, and materials as you play through all the contents of the game -- and maybe, maybe, have enough to create the precursor.

Fun fact about legendaries you use less like Kudzu : I have a good collection of leggy gear now, and I've crafted Verdarach just because it looks badass (and its sound is badass), as well as Kamohoali'i Kotaki.... I rarely use them but they look so cool !
i just farm for like 4-6 weeks and sell all of it and buy a legendary. Last thing i bought was Aurenes Bite greatsword, and then spent a few hundred gold to make the Kralkattorik skin. Also bought two others, doing the same thing. I hate crafting.
The best legendary in the game is the back piece since every character you have can use it and at any level, back pieces are the most expensive piece of gear. The Amulet is the next best piece and you can obtained the Prismatic Champion's Regalia with time and doing meta achievements. After those i rank weapions. Find the weapon you can use on most toons, but you love the look and animation of and go for it. HOPE (pistol) was my first, since I love playing a thief and Engineer, which also led to my second legendary weapon PREDATTOR the sniper rifle. As mentioned in the video buy the Precursor Weapons when you can, as for PREDATOR, its precursor (HUNTER) only costs 38gp and saved a lot of work. It is all about fun so try and make the grinding the most fun for you.
Can you make a video about dailies? I recently hit 80 and there are so many dailies I don't know what to do :D I have like 2 hours of play per day max and I wanna know what dailies are the most beneficial. I love your channel, your videos are very informative!

Not changing the starts on a precursor is a GREAT tip. Years ago I did this on an ascended mist forged item.
As for things that you can work on at the same time... Aurora and vision have a TON of overlap with the Prismatic Champion's Regalia. If you are going to work on Aurora and Vision then be sure to have Prismatic pulled up.
Use Taco or Blush for your gifts of exploration. I've completed 20 world completions. Back in the early days you had to do it on foot and it'd take about 2 hours per map. Now, with mounts and map overlay, it takes a fraction of that.
Best gold in the game, in my opinion, is fractals. Definitely run them each day for about 700g a month.
Oh, and don't forget Legendary runes and sigils. IMHO, some of the VEST legendaries out there for all characters. They unlock items that are 12+ gold x 6 making them a pretty good value.
A full raid clear also gives quite a few resources but of course that option isn't for everyone. Although the same could be said about high level fractials.
It's funny that you mention Kudzu as the example for rarely used weapons, considering people do the precursor collections for the hidden garden 🤭 (I know it's not related to the video, but just thought it was funny... totally not because I just unlocked the garden 2 days ago)
Legendaries, Mounts and the game's Dye system are some of the best things GW2 has done.
Really, other MMOs should bother to imitate them a bit. FFXIV is FINALLY bothering to add to their dye system, which we've asked for many years, but it's still nowhere near as good as GW2's.
You need ascended Gear for agony resistance If you want to play fractals, so ascended Gear isnt just better, it gives acsess to fractals. So exotics arent good enough then. Or am i Missing Something ?
You're right, you actively need Ascended for some fractals.....but ironically, the content where Ascended is good to have......is also the easiest way of getting Ascended in the first place.
Ascended gear gives about 12% more stats than exotic and a slot for agony infusion. That's all to it.
Indeed is a good farm for gold and ascended at tier 4 im sitting with a lot of ascended chests nowadays since I dont need em anymore just for alts .
Maybe for the highest levels, but you can make do with ascended accessories for a few levels.
The only thing I dislike about legendaries is the lack of lore. The lore weapons are usually either exotic or ascended
There is lore to some degree but do you mean like a legendary weapon from history? Or integrated into the lore?
@@CaffeinatedDad like take Caladbolg, it is like the ashbringer equivalent in gw2 and it's only ascended but Twilight which is wielded by some random zombie boss in orr is legendary because Night sky go brrrr... or Volcanus and arguably all the weapons based on ele summon weapons, they aren't levendary either even though you have to literally call them out of the mists to use them regularly but yet some random minature manatee in a snowglobe mounted on basically a glorified plank is a legendary cause reasons...
@CaffeinatedDad Like really there should be a mythic or artifact tier to give weapons like caladbolg, the staff of Orr, Magdaer, Sohothin and the like proper respect and maybe that's just my opinion but none of the weapons that are legendary have an actual back story and rather just kind of exist and for everything Gw2 gets right, it's just a shame that lore is so mismanaged. It's kind of a sore spot for me I guess.
I have 7 legendary weapons, got them for the looks. But I use ascended gear, with the legendary skin on it. I hate actually using the legendary, if you switch around your weapons a lot.
True, I don't like the whole build templates that constantly have to be switch back and forth just to be effective

Doing the Kudzu through the achievement gives you a daily node farm in the hidden garden...
The nodes there might not seem as important...

Honestly, I'm a fairly casual player, but the most egregious roadblock I find on my way to my 4th legy... Are mystic clovers !
Doesn't matter how much gold or materials you gain from any method of your choosing, they are the mandatory ingredient that have absolutely NO convenient method of acquiring... Reward chests for PvP or WvW only, basically... Sure, you can gamble at the mystic forge, or buy them at certain vendors, but that's spending equally rare mystic coins to get mystic clovers ! With how much the game has evolved since, it's a bit surprising there is no stable/reliable way to farm them ever so slowly as it may be...
IDK, put a couple in weekly fractal chests, the ultimate reward for sticking to daily living world challenges, a chance at the end of certain meta events,... Something, anything !
I can agree, mystic clovers are always the limiting factor. Especially when you can only get so many per week. Even with the rarest items in game it seems like you have to take it casually

You can get 10 mystic clovers from each fractal and raid vendors and 5 from each wvw and strike misson vendor weekly, totalling 30 weekly from those sources.
You can also complete some wvw and pvp rewards tracks for the flrst time and those give from 14 to 7. Personally I have never ever gambled in mystic forge and got hundreds of clovers following this method

This, honestly this is the step I hit that completely killed my momentum and drive to finish this weapon. Everything else has a very clear grind, farm and sense of progress but 77 mystic clovers? I had 7 and looking it up to see gambling in the mystic forge is apparently one of the only options hurt my soul. It's already a huge grind to undertake all the other steps to get to that point. I wish they changed this step or made mystic clovers more accessible to get because it's the biggest motivation killer IMO.
Working on set 3 raid armor set myself might complete the other four leggie sigils and i know i will make the relic when comes out given i got 7 leggie runes. All my characters have full ascended and i see leggies as a reason to farm t4s and recs daily every day and a use for said gold.
Main goal in my view learn fractals and get full set ascended first on one character with plus 9 agony infusions. You will get close to 20 G a day which can be used to buy matts for leggie items working on.
Fractal farming is super good way to lessen the costs of a legendary
@@CaffeinatedDad The dailies for fractals is where most my leggie crafting money came from. Atm my untamed has 2 leggie axes a leggie lb full leggie armor and trinkets 4 sigils 7 runes. She wont top dps given i have aspergers and stick with weapons in my playstyle but she does pretty good in raids and what not if ppl dont obsess over numbers. I always insist in gear load out to either have axe axe and hammer or lb and hammer. Power build for when i get melee range with hammer.
GW2 made everything easy.. My friend reinstalled the game and made a primordius weap in 1 day of returning without having mats.. Lots of gems involved, but that completely ruins the novelty for players that actually went through the struggle of acquiring everything! Antique summoning stones should be account bound. Easiest fix to that.
Nothing can be painful or longer then grinding relic weapons in ffxiv .... Painn
hello, I want to start crafting light legendary armors since I enjoy necro, ele and mesmer.

I just don't have any idea where to start.

For legendary armor currently you have three options, spvp, world versus world or raiding. Eventually in the next year you will be able to craft legendary items by doing open world things in secrets of the obscure.
Which do you fancy?

I avoid wvw and pvp due to my average ping which is around 239 - 250ms
Before HoT i got Twilight 🤤 with just little PvP or WvW.
Now for Gen3 ...bahh.. to much PvP and WvW to do ...not for me at all...but i get ANet idea, still not for me.
So farming lot gold with maxed crafting and mystic forge, it will be just fine..
Final Tip, drop Chak Egg Sac and sell it. Problem solved

I just came back to the game after 4 years.... I have a bank full of legendary and ascended gear. I have no idea at all what I have and what I need >.> It's a little daunting
I play this game since 2014 or something like that, I only have the sunrise legendary and I dont plan to many any new one. Takes too much effort for just a fancy skin.
Man ive been working on making the legendary rifle for way longer than i care to admit, and the world completion is just killing me. Im at 71% now and maaaaaaan its time consuming
World completion can be slow at times but you also do get two gifts of completion so that's nice!
Have you considered using a HUD mod like Blish HUD and do you have the mounts?
Look at Blish or Taco for map completion

You NEED one or almost all the crafting professions on almost max level! As much as I know there is no way around it and this just sucks :/

Tell you the truth? As long as making a legenday requires me to do even the slightest amount of pvp content, they can keep the legendaries up they (you know what) so if no pvp = no legendaries, i'm fine with that, don't need them

Even wvw? I feel like world versus world is far more forgiving when compared to spvp

@@CaffeinatedDad Weeeellllll... It really depends on which server you are in... If you randomly selected a good WvW server with a dedicated guild(s) doing trains you can hopp into, you'll progress really fast !
... If you end up in an essentially dead server... Well enjoy capturing nothing but the few starting camps just outside your spawn and getting curbstomped in 12 different ways anytime you attempt anything more ambitious...

Infusions can do that for you too you know!
Weapons sucks they are overrated and requires boring map completion. The only worth it legendaries are the trinkets, and armors.
I've been able to get by without and legendary weapons thus far. Armors are perfect for me though

500g is not enough
Honestly I don’t care about flashy looks and I’m not a master class player who NEEDS leggys.
HOWEVER! I love having something to work towards. Therefore legendaries are the best target goal in the game (for me).
It is a good project to pick at overtime!
Leveling the crafting sukssssss
It's simple. Buy all the mats and burn less than an hour to hit 400. Use a % bonus, and you'll hit over 400. What sux is the amount of mats needed to make anything over exotic. You need 5 of this thing. That 1 thing requires 4 different mats. Those 4 different mats require 200 of 5 different items.
AND that's just 1/5 of the recipe
The crafting system isn't set up for a casual player. People that talk about making this stuff easily have years worth of time invested or live in the game.

Well, for my "Decade's devotion" I have currently 52 Legendary items , a tip for crafting, hmmm... let me think there are many, but one will be just concentrate on task for making one, don't waste time doing something else which wont give advancing in crafting, DONT sell high level mats, never, not even when you finish crafting, why, because when you see the convenience having legy you will want to have one more, more and more... Do on daily basis fotm, do fast events and metas (dont do ones that takes more than 30-45 mins to complete), wvw is essential for crafting legys ( dont do choo choo's, do camping's as a goal to receive tickets, mats and progresions), and so on...
Horrik unleash the cannons !!
