I had the experience of being driven through Cairo - was planning to drive myself at the start! - and it amazes me why they are markings on the road? Absolutely no one pays any attention to them. Having driven in the middle east before which was an eye opener Cairo was another level. Impossible for a novice. A complete free for all. Absolutely bonkers complete with death wish pedestrians strolling out into on coming traffic without so much as batting an eyelid. Unique.
