Douglas Murray slams Meghan Markle-like script for Snow White remake

- Disney’s PR strategy seems to be ruining all their classic movies with scripts that sound like they were written by Meghan Markle, says author Douglas Murray.
“It seems that the PR strategy of Disney is to ruin all classic movies and all classic cartoons and claim they are all dated whilst offering us these horribly dated cliches,” Mr Murray told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“The real story of Snow White apparently is that Snow White can become the leader she is meant to be … that sounds like a script written by Meghan Markle, who of course actually did wait for the Prince or did rush to the Prince and grabbed him for her own use.”
Any person that starts a conversation by mentioning their sexuality or race will most likely be a pain in the arse.

Snow white is a classic. It was released in 1937 and so many years later it still has the power to have my 7 year old daughter absolutely mesmerised by how great it is when shes watching it.
This isn't a Snow White remake this is a sloppy seconds remake especially with a z list actress as the star.

My Gran, now deceased, took me and my brother to see Snow White, at the cinema, when they re-released the original (back in late 70s or early 80s). She told me how they had been blown away by the animation, everything, and it was not corny - only in a delightful way - nothing of its kind ever before, and she wanted to share the thrill of it with us. I absolutely loved it!!! Also, we had original Disney Comics from her children's (my Dad and his sisters) childhood, and I loved the characters and stories in those too. Huey, Dewey and Louiey, Donald's nephews, etc. There was nothing sexualised or weird in those comics, just fun and puzzles too.
Douglas Murray is a gold star stater of blunt facts - more power to him too. People as erudite and intelligent as Mr Murray are few and far between and should be treasured.

Re: Snow White remake: "Why not make a new Disney movie with these themes?" You mean a movie in which a female protagonist, surrounded by marvelously quirky characters, overcomes hardship and uncertainty to find her true strength? Disney HAS made that movie. Many times. Why don't these people just read the Snow White book and do a new remake which is inline with the story. If they want to do something Woke, maybe they should write their own story and leave the famous stories alone.
It's a gradual cultural erasure and is absolutely deliberate. It's happening throughout Europe, the US etc. Here in Ireland they have black people dressing up as Irish patriots in the 1916 War of Independence and black people representing ancient Celtic heroes on our children's TV. In Nordic countries they have black Vikings etc. This is happening everywhere in Europe. It's part of 5th generation warfare. I don't have any hatred whatsoever towards black, Pakistani people etc but the ones that are flocking to our shores are either unknowing pawns/willing participants in this cultural warfare and erasure of my peoples history and culture. I actually saw Instagram accounts in N Africa that advertise Europe to young men there as a place where they can riot and burn buildings, have casual sex without consequences.

Snow White is not only a Princess in a fairy tale, she is an archetype. The actress in question should study the psychology behind fairytales. Carl Jung is good for that.
What grates me more is that she doesn't even seem aware that the story wasn't invented by Disney, just adapted from the German fairytale that is much, much older. Told over centuries.
The 1937 movie is beautifully done, taking some artistic liberties (like naming the dwarves and giving them more character, cutting out the first two attempts on Snow White's life as it's just more of the same), but it kept the spirit of the fairy tale. Not to mention the art style and animation is absolutely beautiful and everything just has a lot of charm.

He's truly brilliant. What cemented my opinion of him is his interview with David Packman. He doesn't evade questions, he answers them directly and precisely, something politicians never do. At one point, Packman offered his own wishy-washy definition of wokeness and asked what's wrong then with being woke. Vivek respectfully answered that Packman's definition was useless because it doesn't connect in any concrete and useful way with the claims made by the woke in the real world. You could tell it was not the kind of answer that Packman had expected.

I volunteered at my Church giving away food to people pulling up in Lexus’s Mercedes Benz and Audie’s.
