Yeah he broke the terms of employment--if for no other reason than penning a book on his work laptop, which of course is the school's property and went back to them when he was terminated. (He didn't even back up his work. 🤦‍♀️) So while he's great at philosophy and I love his method of speaking to his students and getting them to come up with their own answers, he lacks a lot of common sense and ingenuity. If I remember correctly, even in the beginning he was waiting for the ball to drop and said as much--which almost assuredly means he knew he was breaking at least one rule that his continued employment hinged on.

    • @phenogen8125

@@5Gburn Incorrect logic. The book would remain his intellectual property regardless and has no permanence so can inflict no harm. To delete it would be unjustifiable commercial assault. This man will now be projected into a much better life having established his integrity and intellect in the public sphere. Should deletion occur local or even remote access and imaging resolution would recover everything unless more focused deletion is employed which would infer deliberation and weaken the defendants case: his former employers. I hope he sues for a very large settlement and also suitably gets compensation from facilitators of his inflicted damage by Musk and others who placed into social media exposure and thus carry culpability.

But I would after the exercise, try to introduce facts that show why there are concerns that JK Rowling has transphobic views which do exist. This would cause the student to really show how both thinking and the facts presented can lead to very different conclusions. A teacher that only teaches how to think, but don't show ways to find and research the facts can still lead to pretty poor conclusions.
