    Just finished. 1.5 hours. Your video made it possible. One thing to add, if your jeep has the automatic thermostat controls then you will need to take out the two screws holding the cabin air temp sensor in to remove the duct.

    Great video. I ended up taking the duct out in two parts. The front part just separated naturally which allowed me to get it out easier. It also made putting it back in a lot easier in two parts. Thanks!

    Have this issue on a Jeep Wrangler 2020. But the noise is more prominent from rear right as if it is coming from the trunk. Surprisingly, opening the window or door stops the noise. Is it this actuator or there is one at the back also?

    Thanks for the best video of replacing the actuator. Took mine apart after removing it. Everything looks OK and I powered it with a AA battery. It works but I'm going to replace it since it'll probably fail down the road. I'm guessing my problem is with the HVAC controls.

    • @mantovaniracing
      @mantovaniracing  ปีที่แล้ว

      The actuator is bad. The only reason it clicks is because it’s going past the internal “stop”.

    Question….
    I bought a used Jeep and this part was missing on it. I bought a new one to install but not sure what size screws are needed.
    Would you happen to know?

    • @mantovaniracing
      @mantovaniracing  ปีที่แล้ว

      That a good question. I don’t know the score size. It’s also a specific plastic screw. Not your typical sheet mental screw.

    Great video. I'm having the exact same problem. But it only started immediately after I changed the battery. So I'm wondering if the actuator is fine but has somehow forgotten its position and so tries to go too far, resulting in clicking. When starting the jeep the rear defrost light flashes which is supposed to indicate some kind of hvac fault. Any thoughts?

    • @jeffwallace5557
      @jeffwallace5557 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've been chasing this also. I tried to do a hvac actuator calibration this evening with a scan tool and still have the blinking light. I'm going to try disconnect the battery for a little while and reconnect. I read somewhere today that disconnecting the battery and reconnecting makes the system calibrate the blend door actuators. We'll see.

    • @jeffwallace5557
      @jeffwallace5557 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Battery disconnect and reconnect after about 30 minutes also didn't work. Not sure what the deal is other then buying the OE part which I'm doing at the moment.

    • @ericmajzoub1289
      @ericmajzoub1289 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@jeffwallace5557 In the process of playing around I did try pulling the fuse for the hvac and replacing it to get the system to try to recalibrate the motors, but it didn't work. I just ended up replacing the part. There is no more clicking, but the flashing light indicating an hvac fault still comes on whenever I start the jeep. I don't know how to get rid of it.

    I have the wj with issues again! Door blends done with heater core last year! Now I have no airflow! Fan is strong. I have code 52 I was hoping the recirc door was broke and on top of Fan! No luck! I also have 54 56. Perhaps I should have replaced last year? I have no pollen filter to worry about. Vents are warm to touch. Would replacing the blend door actuators give me air flow? Any idea why I have no airflow?

    • @mantovaniracing
      @mantovaniracing  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s what the blend door does, direct air also. Not just the temperature blend door. If the air isn’t coming out the vents it must be blowing on the floor or windshield.

    • @terrystratford1235

    Thank you for the great video! I got everything out and replaced the part. However I’m having the darndest time getting the duct back in place. I do have the body module out, so I have the space. I just can’t get it to line up enough to snap into place. Any tips?

    • @ryanallen3244
      @ryanallen3244 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I put it back in two parts. This way I could line up the back half while looking into the duct directly. Remember the piece goes around the outside of the part it is fitting onto. Pushing up from the bottom while guiding it in at the top with my fingers in the hole got the thing to line up. It just took a bit of time and patience. Once that was in I installed the outer half by going through the opening below the steering wheel and sliding it down in place instead of trying to go up from the bottom.
