I live in beautiful Emerald. We have had a rule in our house for ages. If the car is stopped by Puffing Billy, you must wind the window down and wave to the passengers. The kids are older now, driving their own cars. They still do it. Everyone waves back. It's wonderful.
It is interesting to see how many little things have changed over the years. I must be getting old also. A bit after emerald there were paddocks of potatoes and now it is a car park and sporting oval. But in the era before this part was reopened I was walking along there with my girl. That was where I stopped and proposed to her. We have been married for more than 50 years now.
Brain Flash! I just remembered an old cop show from the 70's set in this area of Victoria (Emerald). It was called Solo One, and it starred Paul Cronin. Wow I am getting old.
@@driver667 It was the opening shot of an NA hauled train crossing a trestle bridge, while Paul's motorcycle passed underneath that clicked in my aging brain. 🚂🚃🚃🚃😁
Suggestion for a future video - drivers eye view: regatta point to lower landing - west coast wilderness railway. I did something like this but from passenger view recently, would like to see what that would look like
@@tasmanianmapping when I was over there and I filmed this line, it was only running to Lynchford. It is on my list to return when it's running further. Here is the video I made. th-cam.com/video/bybG6--kB_k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=eNkUSUT3nfCQGDU4
