My son who was an authorized user on my card and continuously was declined at gas stations for suspected fraudulent use. I would get a notification and have to say yes this is authorized in order for him to be able to use the card. This happened frequently monthly or more and in our neighborhood, not out of state or in any way some thing that would raise a red flag. I called several times and spoke to customer service to resolve the issue so he wouldn’t be embarrassed. This never happened on my card only on his. Interesting that I am white and my son is black. Customer service was not able to give me any straight answers other than sorry this is how our algorithm works and could not guarantee that this problem would not continue. I had no choice but to shut my account as I can’t work with a partner that cannot provide basic services.
Are you implying that the card reader at the gas station was aware of your son's skin color?
not just black muslims too get targetted.
Capital One is the first credit card I got in 2011 the first card I got was the MTV card 2014 I was transferred to the quicksilver card. I have been with Capital One for 11 years.
