    ***Note*** I forgot to mention in the video that there is a button labeled "AQ" in the MIDI editor window that when engaged, will automatically apply any quantize value changes to your MIDI notes! This can drive you crazy if you're not aware of that setting...

    • @vengadorsky
      @vengadorsky 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      you mean it will happen as soon as the midi input is recorded?

    • @quantaaudio
      @quantaaudio  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it will actually affect all of your already recorded MIDI notes, anytime you have it activated and make a change to the quantize value.

    @14:00 you answered my question. Too bad we don't have the ability to visualy see the results of the quantization. This is pre-historic - needs to be addressed asap.

    great video!!! is there any chance of you doing a video explaining the groove part?

    Thank you very much for keeping this extremely helpful tutorial up! For some reason the supposed experts keep dishing out useless snippets rather than vital fundamentals.

      You're very welcome. Long-form videos are just not popular on TH-cam and this probably why they don't cover everything so deeply. When I look at my analytics, it shows that people generally watch 1-3 minutes of my videos. But, I'm creating content for people who truly want to master their software/craft, so I continue to produce long-form, lecture-style content.

    Wow, you are the best at making these pretty obscure features relevant to everyday use! Quanta rules!

    What about recorded audio tracks like guitar? Can you quantize it the same way?

    This is the best explanation of Studio One's quantize feature I've seen. This cleared-up a couple things I was trying to better understand. Thank you!!!

    Is there a way to temporarily bypass the snap function without having to press the [N] key twice? In other daws this is usually done by pressing and holding one key, and once you let go of that key the snap function is reengaged. Is there a way to make that happen in S1?

  • @barneyrubble8255

    With logic it was so easy using flex time. Why doesnt Studio one have something like that where you can just push a button and all the transients snap to the grid? Saves me a lot of time with my bass playing.

    Excellent video! Explained everything beautifully. The range setting seems a little counter-intuitive though, if I've understood it right...at lower range, only the notes which are slightly out of time will be corrected, and the ones which are very badly out of time will not?

    When you quantize something with swing, does it globally change the grid?

    Thank you for your videos, keep up the good work! I bought S1 a week ago and changing from Pro Tools to S1 is pretty flawless, but in addition your videos are so valuable! All I can do is subscribe (which I just did) and give all of them a thumbs up!
    Great work man! All the best from Germany!

    OMG! You are an awesome teacher! I know people who're experts with this software but can't explain/teach it to someone else to save their lives. Further proving educating/teaching is a skill and just because you do something well doesn't mean you can necessarily teach it. Kinda why we've never seen Michael Jordan try to coach.

    Can we have separate quantize values for track and piano roll (like in sonar) ? It is very imporatant as when working with notes, we might need it to be at eighth and in track view, we might need it at whole for clips movement.

    • @quantaaudio
      @quantaaudio  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. The quantize value can be set independently in the song page and edit window.

    • @kvenu88
      @kvenu88 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Quanta thanks for the reply! But, when we change the quantize value in edit page, that value changes in the main(song) page too ... so that means they are connected... How to make them independent?..

    • @quantaaudio
      @quantaaudio  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're absolutely right. I just gave it a try and it does appear they are linked. I could have swore they were independent! The manual gives no mention about how to do this...

  • @iwo1621
