Although this video is quite old it's a gem for people like me who perform very bad with the piano. Especially the step sequence is awesome when it comes to recording ostinatos and arpeggios. Thanks a lot.
Just wanted to say that your S1 tutorials are miles better than anything else, even including paid ones! I started using S1 a couple days ago and thanks to you I know what to do and how to do it. Awesome stuff, keep 'em coming!
Thanks so much, Leuvierre! A lot of work goes into making them so it's good to know that you are finding them helpful. Thanks for supporting the channel!
Can you listen to two layers at once? And also can you merge 2 of the tracks to one? Basically when I make my music I make one layer at a time, then I make another layer with completely different parts and join them together. But can I listen to them both simultaneously before joining them? I'd love to know as I'm planning on buying a midi keyboard and this will be the software I will use. Great video
Studio One doesn't recognize my vst libraries or Kontakt Player. I have Kontakt Player Version 5&6 but my vst libraries are in a separate SSD drive. As a stand alone K5&6 recognizes my seperate libraries in the external ssd but no luck in the app. Do I need to have my vsts in the same native instruments library for the DAW to recognize Kontakt and the vsts? Or is there another reason why the DAW wouldn't recognize the app? Great vid btw
Not sure that I'd recommend doing that, Sakef. If you're not happy with the sound of the piano soundsets, using EQ would really just boost/cut the bad sounds/samples that you are hearing, and not really make them better. Adding a touch of reverb always seems to help them sound a bit better in my productions.
I feel stupid, but I can't figure it out: How can I listen to an existing midi track, say Impact drums, while recording another midi track, like a bass from Presence? When I drag in the Presence track, my midi controller is still triggering the drum sounds for the Impact track, even if it's not selected. If I mute it or bypass it, then I can't hear it at all. How do I solve this?
I just cannot seem to facilitate simultaneous MIDI and Audio recording on Studio One through Presonus Firestudio. I am trying to mic "acoustic" hi-hat cymbals but record the rest of the drums on a Roland electric set. Anyone know where I can find the instructions? I tried to simple add an Audio track to the Instrument (MIDI) track in Studio One but some sort of interference is causing the MIDI to crap out. This only happens when I use the mic and MIDI tracks together. Help! :) Thank you!
Hey, Rich. I'm not seeing that email anywhere...could you resend? My email address is on my TH-cam 'about' page. Don't want to leave it here for the internet bots, spam, etc. Thanks.
I know this is year later lol but at the end, how did u just add chords in like that? I have studio one 4 so i dont have the chord track that u can type in and drag down. If i can do that with the step sequencer im gonnq be hyyypeee lol
I added them in by manually pressing chords on my external keyboard controller. They were not added by any automated procedure that you are looking for, from what I gather.
Maybe you've found the answer you were looking for by now, but, it'd be hard to say what going wrong without seeing your setup. If your track is armed for record, you enter into record, and you're seeing a MIDI part being created with your notes inside of it and it disappears when you stop recording - that should totally not be happening.
Hey quanta I noticed at around 13:00 min you muted the presence track. Im assuming thats because you will here presence when your recording drums right ? That is the issue I am trying to figure out. When i record different instruments like drums in impact while there is a presence track open I will hear the presence sound underneath the drum. Can i fix that some how ? thanks
Yes, I did mute the Presence track around that point because I didn't want it to play back at that point in the tutorial. When we're creating tracks, however, most times we will want to hear the tracks that are already recorded so that we can play/record new tracks in relation to them. So, I don't think it's something to "fix", per say. I would just use the mute button to silence any tracks that you don't want to play back, as your working on your music.
My problem is that when I'm trying to lay down a presence track in relation to the impact track I am hearing the impact instrument while I'm trying to play the presence instrument. Both sounds are playing together when i strike a key. I can't figure out how to separate them. Obviously I want to lay a track down in relation to what i already played but for some reason all instruments that are in the session and that are on will make their respective loaded sounds when I play unless I turn off the instrument. But then obviously i can't play in relation to what I recorded. Thanks for your help Quanta !
Josh Turner Hey you are the only other person who I’ve noticed that’s having the same problem as me! I can’t figure out how to record separate presence tracks for like strings and drums and keys, I cannot get away from the tracks all playing at the same time, what is the fix for this? I feel like it’s so simple but I’m not grasping it at all!

Can you please do a tutorial video on how to equalize "piano sound sets" to make it sound professional in studio one ?
Not sure that I'd recommend doing that, Sakef. Sir, when I start a midi record, it's starts from previous bar, erasing the previous session. Please help 🙏

Do we record midi with the own sound of a keyboard?
When I’m in step record, Studio One doesn’t seem to record my velocities. Am I missing something

@@quantaaudio damn ok that still works for me. They showed up so smoothly I thought it was like the chord track lol thank you for the reply
may i ask How do i load *.nki instrument in studio one 2?
So when I try to record a drum track, I hit record and hit the pads on Atom. But when I hit stop it disappears. What am I doing wrong?

@@quantaaudio that's what was happening but I just started a new track and it seems fine now. Thx.
Does studio one have midi capture function?
I've not seen anything in the manual about that function. So, I don't believe so.

I just figured it out I was loading the entire instrument plugin on to the track and not just the preset sound. All is well

When I record midi notes, the recording is over the existing ones. How to cancel this dubbing?
Watch video. Pop up record mode tab. Turn on record mix and off record takes and takes to layers.
@@danicsibra1951 I did it and that doesn't help.
