David’s voice when young has a lot of curiosity, the the insatiable desire to discover as much as he can And present day david is full of wisdom and knowledge about the world we live on truly a wonderful man
Here we see a great David Attenborough in his natural habitat, watch as he stands Infront of the camra and uses his soothing voice to explain how amazing the world really is. When I read this back to myself I heard it in his voice, 😄
David Attenborough is one of my few idols, his work has inspired me to become a zoologist, I have much respect for him and his work, great to see his earlier work like this!
I agree. And I mean, considering he's 95 at present, if you're under 50 he's been over 40 since before you were born. So it makes sense him being young looks super bizarre.
Ah that BBC 50s voice which Sir David still sports... gotta love it! He wasn't even that young here, 30! Not saying that's ancient by a long shot but he was well respected even by then. And I love the way he says orangutan! So exotic an animal to the average viewer in 1956!
Pleeeeeeeeease BBC! Please release Zoo Quest on dvd. We are all grown up enough to watch it in light of it's day. Don't let yourselves be bullied by those who aren't.
😂 1:45 The use of hog snorts as background sound for the jungle environment is hilarious! But, before having access to a vast storage of animal noises at our fingertips as we do today, what was one to do?
A young man of pure awesomeness...sir David Attenborough. What I wouldn't give to work on this mans research team. How I wish he'd trip it down to my neck of the woods in Canada so I'd have the honor of meeting the man.
I just came here to hear how Sir David Attenborough sounded when he was a young man. I’ve only heard his voice since he was older. He turned 95 yesterday and I truly love his voice as an older man. As a younger man, it doesn’t have quite the same affect on me. I’ve been told I have a mellifluous voice. People are always trying to guess where I’m from. Growing up in the USAF, I don’t have a specific regional dialect. Too bad I don’t have a British accent like Sir David Attenborough.
Wow, "Mega Posh" It's enough to come to the conclusion that you have absolutely no idea of accents, the accent here is transatlantic(used in radio broadcasting and old films during late 19th century) also this accent is quite similar to the present day popular rp English accent which is known as "Briddish accent" to yanks. RP English accent may sound posh to americans but actually it's a standard English accent in southern England spoken by common middle class people it's not "over the top" or "posh" for fu*ks sake!
Stereo sound track! That's a later enhancement, or someone was thinking very far ahead. I watched this as a kid when it was first broadcast. There was no stereo broadcast sound at the time.

Great! How long have you say in a zoologist and how has the journey been so far? I'm very curious.
@@albussd Same me too! ❤

his voice is so comforting even before when he's young, I adore him
What an amazing footage, thank you for sharing.
That's Attenborough?!? Wow! He's really young! I guess I'm used to watching him when he's older.
It's hard to imagine he was ever this young. XD
There’s a book on this
I agree. And I mean, considering he's 95 at present, if you're under 50 he's been over 40 since before you were born. So it makes sense him being young looks super bizarre.

0:38 Even then the camera angles was great, the BBC have been perfecting their craft.
Sir Attenborough is such a great communicator, even with the language barrier

This rainforest in indonesia is long gone.... With those orangutan in it, its amazing how big orangutan was
Love him! What a commitment to our natural world ❤
2:29 Is someone just making grunting noises to make it seem more interesting...?
A wonderful man with a wonderful life.
Damn Britain has people that just never retire from their careers. David Attenborough, the Queen, etc.

I believe it's expected. Legends like him get better as they grow older. It's like the aging of wine.
Back then sounds were recorded separately I think; you are not hearing what you are seeing.
Especially the pig noises.
It still works this way for nature documentaries, they are just a lot better at it
Was that mega posh accent put on in those days? Because he sounds nothing like that in the 90s right through until now
Probably. It was how the BBC instructed their presenters to speak.
Back then it was a requirement for anyone who spoke in the BBC to speak in what is called the Received Pronunciation (RP).

At that time his age is about the same as mine today, and that's 1956. Now I feel being a 30 year old man is very young

I was told by my friends that I sound like young David Attenborough, this is the video they used for reference.
I am fan of David's movies!
For anyone that didn’t see description. This was 1956.
Almost after 50 years, things aren't the same as portrayed in seven worlds, one planet.

an 'Orang or Tang'
precise pronunciation in those days
Indiana Jones: David Attenborough is my idol.
It's a flying pig!
Is this because we were talking about Tang the other day?
