Clearly Ross asked his first question just to talk about the octopus, and basically rudely ignored the amazingly good answer that Attenborough gave. A little acknowledgement of that titanic, mysterious event and the awe and curiosity it so obviously inspires in Attenborough would have gone a long way. Ross should take a leaf out of Graham Norton’s book, who knows how to have a dialogue rather than trying to force comedy police-interrogation style.
@uncletigger Interesting you should be so aggressive about this issue. I believe it clear I meant no disrespect to him. "No" I would not call Pope Francis by any other name as that is how I have always referred to him. If the context of conversation involved the Supreme Court then I would use Chief Justice, otherwise it would be Mr. Roberts. On investigation of this issue, it turns out there are a lot of nuances based on the nationality of the individual so honored and that of the referrer. I hold the gentleman in high regard and have no problem using the honorific Sir David. Be well UncleTrigger.
I'm not one to gush over celebrities but I could sit and listen to Sir David talk for hours. It's incredible to see how much passion he has for this planet, well into his 90s. Few people will ever contribute as much to the world as he has.

Absolutely! I feel very fortunate, because my own grandfather went into a similar field as a naturalist living in New Hampshire. He's spent his life in the swamps of New England studying and observing turtles, while also working to conserve their habitat. We talk at least once every two weeks over the phone, and almost all of our conversations entail at least some story from his previous trips into the swamps. He's 78 years old and still going strong, though is more defeated by the day by the encroachment of people in areas where these turtles nest and breed. While American and not British, he does have a very similar captivating quality with the stories he tells.
Get over yourself a little bit, mate. It's just TV.

@@ammar675 in what way are people agreeing with the original, articulate and intelligent comment 'sheep'?
Bizarre.
Totally agree Ant I found it quite irritating. He asked a question and clearly didn't listen to his answer. Awkward and rude.
David Attenborough would have to be one of the only human beings that I will actually listen to from beginning to end no matter what the subject is.
You can listen and hear how quiet the audience and everyone is as Sir David is speaking.

Rightly so, Cox spouts so much bullshit, including: "Anyone can travel forward in time, but why would you want to".

“Don’t get him started on the dolphins “🤣🤣🤣
I grew up with Mr. Attenborough - good to know he is still vibrant.
@Rad Derry RD, those were the days. Apologies to M. Hopkin Not better, different and both priceless. Be well RD in these challenging times.
I think if all people had the option to give a day of their life to someone, I think this man would live forever.. national treasure
I'm not one to gush over celebrities but I could sit and listen to Sir David talk for hours. It's incredible to see how much passion he has for this planet, well into his 90s. Few people will ever contribute as much to the world as he has.
His enthusiasm for what he preaches is outstanding 👏 the guy is a global gem and a legend
The only man alive who has truly lived! Loved him as a kid, love him as an adult! Him and his teams have showed the world its beauty, and its beasts!
I think of Mr Attenborough as a grandfather he’s been in my life for 30 years plus since I remember him when I was a little boy.
He is such a speaker! Intoxicating really Sir Attenborough
This interview is a treasure in itself to see Sir David Attenborough so relaxed and jovial. I feel highly honoured to have shaken hands with him, and to thank him for being a part of my children's home education via his documentaries. I only hope my grandchildren will be as equally inspired to watch and learn from him over the years. Video was invented for legends like this.
Love how soon as Idris mentions an orangutan in Africa David just shakes his head😂
Agree.... even I knew that.👍🏽🇬🇧

Oh, were you born in space?
Can we all agree that when Sir David Attenborough passes away we would all cry for days on end?
Rad Derry shut up
Rad derry, please elaborate. What makes you think/know and say this?
Rad Derry you have single handedly gone through most of the comments complimenting David and called them idiots or some other remark, it’s really sad...
Rad Derry you really have a true hatred for this man when he has never done anything wrong
@Cody Wilkie looks like you forgot to switch to your throwaway account.
Is Idris Elba sitting unusually close to David Attenborough or have I just gotten to used to the 2 metre rule with this Covid 19 business?
@Buffalo 66 yeah I'm aware that's is not a recent show. I just mean that with having to practice social distancing for some time now it almost seems strange to see people sitting so close together.
You're his really close even 2015 standards.
Stop being ignorant!
I notice it too, he looks like a school boy siting next to his hero and not quite believing his luck.
Easier to get them both in the shot
I just love the way his eyes sparkle when he talks about the worlds wonders.
I've watched Sir David's work since I was a child, I made sure my own children watched him when they were growing up, and now, I have the blessing of watching him with my grandchildren. For what he does in conservation and education, I cannot thank him enough. The world cannot thank him enough. There's not many people in this world I would class as exceptional. To my mind, Sir David Attenborough is THE most exceptional individual our world has, and rightfuly revered.
"they thought it got lost.. it was actually hunting the cameraman" *grins* 😂😂
I grew up watching his documentaries and my parents too when they were in college. He's the grandpa whom I could listen to tell stories all day.
Idris: 'Yeahhh...In Cape town..on table mountain, they've got those wild Orangutan.."
Sir David Attenborough quietly nodding: " Orangutan? In South Africa. Man is talking out of his arse" "Mmhmm, yes yes"
"Polar bears think yum yum breakfast when they see humans."
So they're basically safe in the afternoon.
I am from Africa ,, this guy is huge here everybody loves him ,, helped us alot with his videos passing the knowledge ,, best of the best
What an absolute legend this man is. The word legend was derived for this man. The greatest voice we will ever hear on TV. I could listen to his voice for hours at a time without even the visuals. May God let him live for another 100 years as there'll never be another like him.
..love that disgust on Sir David's face when asked about space🤣
The knowledge this incredible man possesses. I could listen to him all day.
kubel83 he’s a remarkable human being
I am so honoured to have been watching Sir David Attenborough for over 50yrs
I'm now 67 and I have grown up with Sir David Attenborough and Dame Dr. Jane Goodall and I still keep learning from their knowledge and wisdom.
It's so fascinating to listen David Attenborough speak about animals, be it in a documentary or a talk show. You can see his passion in his evey motion and sentence.
Wish i was in Lockdown with him, I'd never get tired of listening to him & his calm gentlemanly voice, plus I'd get to learn everything about our world and its inhabitants, stay safe everyone 🙏💜
Am I the only one that thinks David Attenborough is the guy everyone want to be there grandad ❤️😂
I love sir David Attenboroug. There is nothing like him and never will be in this world
I’m surly not the only one that appreciates that Sir David Attonborough gives the person talking his complete undivided attention right?
Even just having a causal conversation, his voice, his enthusiasm nature - everything is just bliss.
a man you can utterly trust,a voice that EVERYONE listens to.
Sir Attenborough, I tip my hat to you.
Coming from a Frenchman who dearly loves your work and enthusiasm for wildlife, you are simply said; a treasure.
Such a gracious and passionate man , thank you Sir David Attenborough
Such warm thanks by Mr. Jonathan to Sir David.
David, in my opinion, will always have the most soothing voice I’ll every hear.
