    I, as a middle aged woman with Crohn's disease, cut my hair very short, not shaved.....I did go to number 2 on the clippers at one point...., but now I take it to number 8, and let it grow out, till it bugs me too much, then take it back to number 8 on the clippers again. I keep my hair short because of Chronic Fatigue... Just too exhausted to deal with it! All my life I had hair to my waist. As I got sicker in recent years, it got shorter and shorter. lol. It IS interesting, Jagoda Basic, how we create our image and our perceptions around hair. It's very freeing to get rid of it all. I am glad it doesn't bother you too much this time Tyler. You look just fine!

    Hi Tyler! I have spent a good portion of this morning / afternoon (Central DST, America) watching your videos. Can I just say “Bravo!” to you as well as Thank You SO MUCH for so beautifully documenting and sharing your story. It has been really helpful to me. A music artist (public figure) who I respect and admire announced on his social media accounts that he was diagnosed with ALL in early March 2021 (obviously different than AML, but the course of treatment seems to be somewhat parallel). He went through Induction, yet rather than moving to the Consolidation phase, the announcement was made that his med team is moving straight to BMT. I believe he is going through Conditioning now to prepare for the transplant. The information you have shared is giving me so much insight into the process and what he and his family and loved ones are experiencing. He is a warrior like you and it’s lovely to see your strength and commitment, coupled with your honesty the vulnerability that you have felt. Thank you so much. I will catch up on all of your videos, have subscribed, and I look forward to your continued updates. You are a rock star, Tyler! 👏🏻😻🤟🏻

    It’s interesting how we create our image and our perceptions around hair. I remember how my colleagues were shocked when I (as a middle age woman) shaved my hair for the ShaveForCure 2000 something. None of my female colleagues wouldn’t even think about that! For me it was a new perspective and new look for sure😊and hair grew again...I raised $157😊

    Tomorrow starts Chemo-Round 2 of 3 and I try to take this step now since my patches are bigger, my hair thinner. I already shaved my beard because it got even more thin and patchy within 1-2 days. Nice video, it helps me to make this step!

    I was recently diagnosed with alopecia. About a month ago, the clumps and patches got to be so bad that I shaved it off. I've lost most of my brows and lashes as well. As a blonde woman in Canada 🇨🇦, it's pretty damn cold right now so I'm grateful for LYM beanies. It's been a really emotional ride though as I've always had long blonde hair and now I have no hair. And.... with alopecia, they don't know if it will grow back. Best of luck in your chemo. I hope it kills that damn cancer and you feel better soon!

    • @TylerBlah
      @TylerBlah  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, thank you for sharing that experience Amy. Yes, I'd imagine Canada would definitely be quite cold! But I am so happy that the LYM beanies are helping :)

    Looking good man👍🏼. I believe it was less than a week after my bone marrow transplant I shaved my head. I lost ALL my hair except my eyebrows (TMI? 😳). Funny thing is when I met with the head transplant oncologist my hair finally was coming back from the initial chemo treatment and two rounds of chemo consolidation, he was adamant that I would loose my hair again(oh well whatever it takes right)My hair started growing around day +100 (BMT was November 6,2018) and I just got my first “trim” yesterday as we are attending a wedding upstate Florida this Thursday. My wife laughs at my new hair as it’s soft and very straight. For the many years she has been with me, my hair was xtra thick and curly lol. Now I got a new hairstyle to go with my new post BMT life 😁.
    I was happy to see your update and just so you know you are in the thoughts, prayers and hearts of many whom you reached out too. We are happy to see you well and rocking the Mr. Clean look so great 💪🏻

    You look handsome bald. I received a drug called adriamycin for 4 cycles. My doctor said my hair would start to fall out in day 14. I didn’t wait for it to start falling out, I had it shaved on day 10 - not a clean shave like yours but the shortest you could do with a shaver.

    • @TylerBlah
      @TylerBlah  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I understand cutting it early ! I think I would have done it retrospectively, but I figured the late cut would be more amusing for the video! And yes, getting the clean shave is difficult!

    • @TheBoobster123
      @TheBoobster123 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tyler Blah hopefully you get to keep the eyebrows - I was told since eyebrows and eyelashes grow slowly, they are also slow to shed when getting chemo. My eyebrows and eyelashes thinned out, but I did not lose all of them - maybe I kept 5 pieces of hair 😂😂😂. That was 20 years ago - praying for your complete recovery.

      Thank you Lady in Red! Each round of treatment I go through, despite its lows, brings me closer to the end of treatment! That's how I choose to see it :) So sometimes going through can be bad, but it can also mean 1 round down, only a few left to go. I hope your friend is going well!
