And their solution is to just make tanks even more like raid bosses to fix things? They nerf the heal reduction from the DPS passive but don't touch CC on them which is what people hate to deal with? I guarantee you we'll get a dev blog with Aaron explicitly saying they're convinced 5V5 is the way to go and 6v6 just isn't possible for reasons. They're hell bent on proving they can somehow fix things without admitting to any mistakes. At least the changes to Junker Queen were mostly minor so I can keep maining her and not feel dirty about it.
This is not the "clueless devs ruin game out of incompetence" patch. I'm sorry to say, but I think that this is the most in our face "we need your money, buy skin and battlepasses" patch they've done so far. With the new collab the 2 plausible skin bundles will be of Optimus Prime Rein and Megatron Ramattra. So now Rein and Ram will grant admin status to tank players. 2 to 4 weeks of making money out of Gullible people and most of this changes will be tuned down or reversed. (Im in no way trying to contradict you and the video, I just want to add that they are implementing this insanity also out of pure greed)
As a tank main I find it ridiculous the people that say that "we can't go back to 6v6 bc they'd have to redesign the entire game" as if they havent been attempting to do that (and failing) for the past 2 years.This just proves once again that 6v6 is the better option but these devs are too lazy and incompetant to find the root underlying cuase og goats and double sheild so instead just radically change the game so those comps cannot be played hurting the game in the long run.

Why are these developers so intent on making this game brain dead?? I mean the game practically plays itself at this point. Next patch they're going to add auto attack mode so players can just press the A button and let the heroes play themselves.

What i really dont get is the obsession devs have with orisa, no likes to play orisa, no one likes to play against orisa. If they nerfed her so much she would be unplayable i dont think anyone would complain.
Btw Orisa can now headshot with spear, Sombra has a gamebreaking bug, and Pharah still does damage with the blast on direct hit. None of that is in the patch notes. W Patch Edit: They did say pharah only lost the explosion damage but it should not do damage at all
Overwatch 6 in the future will be 1v1 where you have two characters going toe to toe blowing the shit out of each other but each one taking no damage and self healing it all so the game never ends.
My favorite part is they didn't even try to balance it for the dps. Like you would've thought that maybe they'd buff tf out of the "Tank buster" heroes like reaper, but nope, it's not even gonna be worth it for dps to even pay attention to the tanks anymore

Here’s all I say about this whole issue: We gave them all the time during OW1’s lifespan where they neglected the game for a sequel and we gave them another 11 seasons in OW2 to figure out how to balance tank. They don’t know what they’re doing, they never have.

This is the only game I can think of that CONSISTENTLY buffs the characters everyone hates playing against, and nerfs or ignores the ones that are actually fun. I really miss Reaper brawl, when the game was about finding creative ways to close gaps and get in the enemies face. All these tank changes are part of the braindead design philosophies that result in characters like Illari and Sojurn that delete half your hp from 2 maps away, or Bap and Kiri that have abilities that just say "nuh uh" and stop you from executing plays. The metagame of Overwatch now is so dull and unlively, everyone plays at ridiculously high ranges, and they're given a thousand get out of jail free cards. Tons of people who brag in chat aren't good at the game, they just play cheap characters in a forced meta. And if the current experience is any indication, Tanks will STILL be "steamroll" heavy. Because one will move up and the other won't. It just makes it more frustrating and takes even more agency from the hands of the balanced legacy dps characters. Not like the devs care, 2 thirds of the entire roster is just unplayable.

Did some experimentation on my own, ram when he blocks now can live through a point blank pharah barrage. An ability that does 3,000 damage. I love ram but i dont think he needs 825 hp in his form
As a Diva main this cracks me up. I remember when Overwatch first came out and they nerfed her missiles and every Diva player was pissed. Now they are increasing her armor, DM and missile damage? It would make more sense to make it 6 vs 6 and have 2 tanks again, I don't like being the only tank. You're right, these devs don't know WTF they're doing lol.
I’m ngl I’ve played roughly 20 ish games since this “game ruining patch” and it honestly feels no different. In all the circumstances you would have lived and died before are still the same. If you get bad supports on the tanks team the tank still explodes, if the supports are pumping the tank without any countermeasures they are very hard to kill, but not impossible to kill. I’m still seeing Pharas and widows and Echos absolutely dunk on lobbies killing 3+ a fight. Tank was the worst role in the game by far for most of OW2 lifecycle and even after this “omega, monumental, colossal, earth shattering midseason” the role still feels the same. You do well, the other team counter picks you because of 5v5 being a terrible format and then you are either forced to counter pick the counter picks or just lose. I think 99% of the reaction to this patch is very much so exaggerated and will lead to more bullying and harassment tank players will receive especially since hundreds of thousands of ppl are getting fed a narrative of “tank most OP EVER”. Maybe I’ll notice more changes in the future but through roughly 20 games I’ve not noticed a single change.

As a Reinhardt Main... I don't want to play Dead by Daylight. I don't want to be a raid boss. I just want to be a part of the team. The only reason why Tank was so much fun in OW1 was because I had the capacity to take space and adequately threaten the backline enough to open opportunities for my dps to assassinate or chip damage enough before I have to seek cover or get bailed out by my second tank when I am overextended enough to catch me out in OW2. The window of time to threaten the backline is practically non existant with the dmg numbers of ow2, and this patch demonstrates the ignorance of the dev team to understand that the point of the 2nd tank was to maintain parity among all roles by preventing exactly what they are doing. At this rate... We need to eliminate the second dps and support and go to 3v3.

You know guys, in hindsight. Double shield wasn't that bad, Ya it effected master up 80% of games, but it was fun for the little guy.

They're like adults trying to use youth slang. So fucking out of touch. This is yet another weak attempt at a solution to fix the flaws of 5v5. You can't crack an aquarium and then try to tape it back togheter.
As a Reinhardt Main... I don't want to play Dead by Daylight. I don't want to be a raid boss. I just want to be a part of the team. The only reason why Tank was so much fun in OW1 was because I had the capacity to take space and adequately threaten the backline enough to open opportunities for my dps to assassinate or chip damage enough before I have to seek cover or get bailed out by my second tank when I am overextended enough to catch me out in OW2. The window of time to threaten the backline is practically non existant with the dmg numbers of ow2, and this patch demonstrates the ignorance of the dev team to understand that the point of the 2nd tank was to maintain parity among all roles by preventing exactly what they are doing. At this rate... We need to eliminate the second dps and support and go to 3v3.
I love watching updates on overwatch, havent seen a good patch for a 2 years ago when i stopped playing. If they added a 2nd tank id come back.
Haven't played the game in months and I went to uninstall it completely but forgot I got a new computer so it already wasn't installed.

i dont understand why blizzard is so afraid to nerf healing. Strong heals on top of the new tank buffs is too much. Dps i now useless.
