I want to see the Ryzen 5 3500 vs. the Ryzen 5 3600. The 3500 was in a lot of prebuilt gaming pc's, especially from HP. It would be very interesting to see how the prebuilt cpu holds up to the value king!

The 3500 is a bit slower than the 3600. Where the 5500 has better single and multi core scores than the 3600 and because of that it makes up for the L3 cache the 3600 has but the 5500 has better 1% and .1% lows. The 3500 is 0.1MHz slower(4.1GHz vs 4.2GHz) and the 3500 only has 16MB of L3 cache. So the 3500 is a bit slower than the 3600 but both also has pcie gen 4. Its just the 0.1MHz clock and the 16MB L3 Cache lower that make the 3600 better.

@BladeCrew I'd still like to see a video on the side by side performance. Especially since AMD is releasing AM4 processor's on the lower end

I must say i own both 5500 and 3600 and although the 5500 has only 16mb of cache and the 3600 2x16mb divided but more, the 5500 is on the same perf level. core scores are higher because of zen3 cores, but the power draw of the 5500 is amazing it is utterly silent. would recommend the 5500 hands down. 4500 is a different story

Average FPS are almost equal (3-5% better in 5500), but the difference in 1% low are insane in some games. The new drivers, updates and the newest architechture are benefit the 5500. Also, the low wattage and high frec stability of Cezanne are advantages

5:11 wtf cpu wattage is almost twice and gpu wattage is almost thrice on 3600 compared to 5500??? and 5500 5-10 dollars cheaper than 3600 brand new O.O

Something is off with cyberpunk benchmark, the 4090 usage and wattage was waaay higher in the 3600 with low fps, but in the 5500 usage and wattage are waay low with high fps, I suspect he accidentally turned on RT in the 3600 which explains the high usage and wattage and the low fps

I mean the 3600 and 5500 trade blows in fps but the 1% and .1% lows are better on the 5500. Where the 3600 has 32MB of L3 cache the 5500 makes up in single and multi core performance. The 5500 memory controller is better than the 3600. I had the Ryzen 5 1600 Af for 4 years and I run 4 ram stick but could not run xmp on that. I upgraded this week to the ryzen 5 5500 and now I can run 4 ram sticks and 3200MHZ CL16(XMP), its a 4x8GB ram kitt. I went from playing cs 2 on 1080p comp settings with my rtx 3050 80-110fps to 180-220fps. My 1% and .1% lows are far better in games, getting higher clock speed(my 1600 af was 3.5GHz out of the box). I payed 100 dollars and a bios upgrade to run the ryzen 5 5500 on my Asrock B450M Steel Legend.

Have you tried 5500 for adobe photoshop or blender? How does it perform? I have the same motherboard as you with a 3400G. I was thinking to upgrade to 5500 with rtx4060 for learning animation.

Just gaming? Buy the cheapest one.
For mixed use, and if they have same/similiar price, buy the r5 5500.

I was comparing these last year and the 5500 was $15 cheaper so went that way as gaming was similar in tests at that time. The gaming gap seems to have widened a bit but really the idle and demand power use just win it for the 5500.

The only reason i can think of why you would buy the 5500 over the 5600 is probably to get that low power consumption, it's insane how efficient it is out of the box (atleast according to a bunch of benchmark videos that i see) and ofc bcz it's cheaper, but you will lose some performances because of severely lacking in L3 cache compared to 5600 and other ryzen 5000

I upgrsded from 2200g to a r5 5500 in a a320 motherboard. Its actually very good for the price idk why people criticise this cpu

Friends don’t let friends buy gen3 cpus for 500 series boards. There is a used market for 5600/5600x for $80-100. Double the L3 cache and Gen4. 5500 should only be purchased for 300/400 series boards with no Gen4 support.
