Man I miss her!!! She's such a naughty little thing! Lol That bike is such a great bike to start with, I was so amazed at how well it was designed, and WOW how it felt after was AMAZING!!! Thanks for the trip my man, it was a super fun project, and I'm super happy you likie!!!!
I definitely agree. I remember another a plus production, The Fak Fak Guys. Maybe you guys could text them or something and talk them into doing another video.
What a great Dual Sport story! After riding Hermit's WR I'd like to hop on Daisy Chain and see/feel the difference over stock. Awesome edit brother, nice work!
It's amazing what some money and MDF magic can do, huh? Obviously a very successful rebuild and upgrade! What great group of friends you have! That's even more important than the riding and the bikes.
+gncc1race Yes, indeed! I am forever grateful to +nessedupproductions, +MrDuhfactor and the LMR crew for making this happen. I totally want to visit LMR the next time I'm in SLC for a moto trip!
+BellOnWheels It definitely has created envy for me! I hardly get to ride it! Everyone else is, it seems! I'm going to get to ride her soon. Hopefully!
One of these days I'm going to have to find my own project bike and partake in some of this fun you all are having on your nicely set up machines. Great Vid!
Thanks for the great video! I have done everything to my WR250r including serious suspension up grades to make her a great ride. But I haven't done a big bore kit yet, but after seeing this I think I'm' ready to go for it. Thanks
Dude NIIIICE video! Daisy Chain is such a monster! I recently rode a DRZ 480 and dude... I'm saving up! I wish I could have rode DC a bit more than just in front of the casa. Next time!
+eveRide ADV Thanks, man! Ahh you gotta do it! An 80'cc increase? ERMAGERD, HERSEPERWER and TERK! I'd imagine a 480 would make your long treks a bit more pleasant. Lower RPM cruising! You can ride DC soon-ish.
+eveRide ADV No about the same soon but since it's not really soon, but only kind of an ish, it's soonish. :p THEN AGAIN...there might be a thing! We'll see!
That's awesome and Congrats !!! .... nice to see a video from you too been a long time. I would love to have head work done to my CRF250L that has a 305 bore kit in it and Race Tech suspension. A fully modded Dual Sport really is something to behold and has to be experienced to comprehend.
+Gary Nath (gnath9) Oh man! Maybe you outta contact the wizards down at LMR? Your CRFL must be freakin' sweet with that 305 and especially your RT suspension. I rode a CRFL a few times and that rear setup is kinda spooky! lol. You're right man, the smile on my face when I ride hurts :p Thanks!
bro. i love your wr310. i have a 250x from 2008 with 35k km on it and its still rides perfect. i really want to know. after 3 years. how is the maintenance of your engine?
Awesome video. Wondering if you had a chance to ride Mr Duhfactors KLX351, if so how did it compare to to WR in terms of power. I have a KLX351, that i put in and put a BB pumper carb in. Pretty much the same as Mr Duhfactor, minus the larger valves and port polish and no doubt his excellent suspension work. Thinking about adding a WR250R to my collection. Love the KLX351, and wondering if the WR290 would be worth it, if i already have the KLX351.
Too bad this video seems to be abandoned. It would be super informative to get an update on the long term performance and reliability of Ms Daisychain. There’s ’rest of the story’ begging to be heard here.
i want to go adv riding with you next time , could've all of that work been done on the islands being that i have a 2012 wr250r sitting in my garage that i was planning on turning into a sumo. do you leave that bike up in the mainland ? how is the throttle response does it still have the lag thats famous on the 4 strokes?
+Gary Nath (gnath9) I love it. It's comfortable, light and still smells new. I don't want to use up all that new smell. lol. I pretty much only use that helmet on rare occasions. Once it gets a big scratch, which I hope is not soon, I'll use it more lol.
+Gary Nath (gnath9) I honestly cannot answer that. I have both. I like both. For vlogging, I choose the variant. For when I want to ride in comfort, I choose the Bell.
I have a 2007 honda crf150r that I'm selling come spring and when it's time to look at more bikes I'm definitely gonna look at a rmz250 the bike I was planning on before them a yz250f a crf250r and a wr250f and wr250r
+James_RIdes Can't go wrong with an RMZ250! The difference between all the bikes you've listed and the WR250R is that the WR250R is street legal from the factory and because it's super overly built, has a 20,000+ mile valve check interval. Those other bikes have way more power but at the price of maintenance requirements. btw. My first dirt bike was CRF150RB. In my opinion, that was absolutely, the scariest dirt bike I've ever ridden. That small wheel base and all that power to weight ratio made for many "OH SHIT" moments. :p. You're going to LOVE whatever full size bike you get. The additional wheel base makes them ride so, so much better.
i have the regular wheel and i already knew the wr250r is street legal from factory then the wr250/450fs are just a dirt style bike but with lights and stuff but when i first rode my 150r i hit the gas and almost fell like i was gonna fall off and daisy chain looks really nice tho dude but i plan on selling the crf and maybe buying the rmz and saving up and buying a used wr or so
Well seeing as it hasn't given me a single problem, I'd say it's 100% reliable :p I've probably ridden it for about 3000 miles now. The longest stretch being the 400 mile road ride from St George, UT to Moab, UT. I have taken it to it's 6th gear limits a few times (on dirt!). It's seen many, many crashes and has even had to run without coolant for 10 miles (run, stop method). Thanks!
MrBryantb2 No. I've ridden her for around 2000 miles now. Only changed the oil and cleaned the filter. The valves should not have to be checked any sooner. I'll check them in another 20k miles.
Lol, It's not an expansion chamber. It's an FMF Megabomb designed for 4 strokes. It is not hollow and is designed to change the power curve, increase torque and brake horsepower over stock pipes (especially when up-bored/stroked) while suppressing the exhaust note a little.
+hobidolap I wonder that too. The bike was 2400 bucks. Realistically, without the super bro deals that I got via MrDuhFactor, I figure it would be around 6k. For most people, that would be absurd but most people aren't trying to do super-long distance treks into lands unseen! One thing that I super notice that the 350 smashes this bike is getting air. Since it's so much lighter that a WRR, it's just no comparison. Also, those 350s are just too damned tall for me.
Well if it's a good indication, For the past 10 days, I have ridden more than 800 miles via roads, dirt, rock, sand and snow. One of the stretches was from St. George Utah to Moab which is about 400 miles and with and average speed of 60. In Moab, I crashed and broke the water pump. I had to ride for 10 miles without coolant. I would ride till she got hot then let her cool off. It was the only way. I got a new pump and continued to ride. I get about 65mpg with road riding and about 50 with lots of trail riding. I don't know what the mileage is compared to a stock WR250R. If done right and tuned well, a WR290/310R will be quite reliable. The only thing I want to change is to go back to a smaller sprocket. I did this all on a 46/13. yikes!
That's pretty decent mileage. Thanks for the feedback. I met Mr. DuhFactor at his house a couple weeks ago when I was on an extended camping trip in Utah. Cool guy. I also rode Everide's DR400 with him and some of his buddies in St. George. I saw your bike in his garage. Ballpark, what was the cost of all of the upgrades to the WR250R, including 5mm crank, Athena Kit, porting and timing?
Wow that's cool! Not as nice in person, huh? :p She's gotten a bit beat up. The porting and tuning was all done free as my bike was a test bed for LMR. I don't know what the actual cost would be. The engine parts however, were around 1100. The bike already had a power commander so that was a bonus! Total cost of this bike including the bike was about 5 grand (excluding possible labor).
Iv'e ridden it for thousands of miles already from gnarly trails in the hot desert to 400 mile stretches of highway in a day to using it without coolant due to a crash. No problems, no need for adjustments and according to the builders, it's just as if not more reliable than stock.
minitstop you should try to do an engine swap like use a wr250r frame but use a motocross 450 engine and see how it will work out because it has not been done on TH-cam that I can find a least
110mph in the dirt? Not buying it. Not saying you are lying, I would guess you saw 110 on the bikes Speedo. The 250r speedo is however wildly optimistic. Still 90+ mph on a small bore dirt bike is pretty damn awesome!
Some people say that cars and bikes are just pieces of metal with no soul, taking you from A to B and nothing more. If I'm going to ever hear someone say that, I'll show this video to them. Even though I don't own that bike, during this video I thought of Daisy as a living being, with it's own emotions, personality and thoughts. Not just a machine made of metal.
+B Money Miles per hour. and it's been dyno tested to 114mph on the huge sprocket I was using at the time. WR450's have five gears whereas the WR250R has 6. The Ninja 250 tops out at about 105mph, just fyi. Here's the dyno. go to 4:21. This bike is no joke. It's ridiculously fun. th-cam.com/video/Lmp1EvTt7pA/w-d-xo.html
minitstop thats crazy! i have an 06 WR450F that i made street legal and mine tops out at about 85, but the gearing i have on it, i think, is more towards acceleration not top speed. i dont believe the grey wire, or any other mods have been done to my bike. so i cant even go full throttle :(
+IRLtrolls Easier yes but no sixth gear, no 20,000 mile valve check intervals and I absolutely need that for multi-1000+ mile road journeys that i'm going to be doing. I would however, love a new, fuel injected WR450F for here on Maui but making them street legal is now impossible :(.
The Ithaca kit costs about 1 grand and another 1 grand to install because you will need a new carb to use more fuel tru said carb and tuning to get it just right, not worth it.
The WR450F is a great bike but for me, it absolutely does not make the cut for what I need in my bikes. If I want to ride a trail-only bike, I'd opt for two stroke KTM.
+MrDuhfactor No, thank YOU for everything! I am salivating at the thought of seeing her again but this time, with a proper clutch cable!
Gotta say man, well done on this vid!! Audio is on point, shots are super smooth, and a very well done storyline. +1
+Shag In The Wind Thank you :)
That was an a plus production!!
+AccidentalBroadcast Thanks, mang!
I definitely agree.
I remember another a plus production,
The Fak Fak Guys. Maybe you guys could text them or something and talk them into doing another video.
Do you know where Kalani went? @@minitstop
Only thing more badasserie than this bike is that of your homies coming together to make it all happen.
+AkDeluxeRider Yes that is very true! I am super grateful and blessed to have them in my life :) They are my family now.
Man I needed this today..... So happy!!!
+MrDuhfactor Woohooot! I'm glad I can help!
Any update on how the reliability of the bikes been?
Daisy Chain and Curt can take the cold, they can take the heat. When they ride, they ride bold and know no single word of defeat.
+Katjushja Such Poet. Very Thanks!
That bike looks GREAT! And the place you guys are riding looks like a blast.. Must visit there next summer!
What a great Dual Sport story! After riding Hermit's WR I'd like to hop on Daisy Chain and see/feel the difference over stock. Awesome edit brother, nice work!
+ColoradoDualSport The difference is like night and...total solar supernova. :p Thanks!

Love your stuff mate. It's all high quality and very calm 👍
+DoctorMaddix Thanks :) Yeah it is insane! I got all spooked out at about 80! I like calm :) Calm is good.
I was wondering when you'd post more bwahhps. Daisy chain is such a wicked machine. Awesome mini doco about her!
+Jay Goldie Thanks :)
How does it feel on the highway and what did it do to your mileage?
Bad-assery is right! What a beast! Fantastic video too, as usual.
+M750 Thanks, B!
I know this video is old but, does anyone know if this bike is still running and how happy was the owner with the build? Would he do it again?

Great story and editing of the video. Pitch perfect. Have you shared the cost of the rebuild anywhere on your channel? Curious minds want to know...
+osimnod I haven't as all the labor was free. Thanks for the kind words!
How much for them to just find me a used bike & kit it out for me? I could come pick it up in person.
Thanks
Patrick
Dude, amazing build. Im in Australia and i'm looking to do something similar. What was your build/Mod list?
St. George, Utah? Did you see everide? I hadn't finished this comment and you'd answered it.. nice
Haha yep!
+minitstop I noticed you're still wearing the icon helmet ... did you not like the Bell ?
+Gary Nath (gnath9) I love it. It's comfortable, light and still smells new. I don't want to use up all that new smell. lol. I pretty much only use that helmet on rare occasions. Once it gets a big scratch, which I hope is not soon, I'll use it more lol.
+minitstop
well ... knowing what you know if you could only have one helmet ... would you choose the Bell or the Icon ?
I'm about to upgrade my GMax
+Gary Nath (gnath9) I honestly cannot answer that. I have both. I like both. For vlogging, I choose the variant. For when I want to ride in comfort, I choose the Bell.
I kind of figured that ... I want the icon for the same reason so maybe you answered my question ... lol
+Gary Nath (gnath9) If you can, get one of the carbon fiber versions. Your neck will thank you lol.
turned out great!
+b1pig Thanks!
Soooooooo Saaaaaweeeet ! I love her.....don't tell my bike.
+RideVictoria I wont hehe. Thanks :)
I have a 2007 honda crf150r that I'm selling come spring and when it's time to look at more bikes I'm definitely gonna look at a rmz250 the bike I was planning on before them a yz250f a crf250r and a wr250f and wr250r

I noticed that Daisy is also lowered, by how much? i think you also lowered the seat by shaving it.
does it still go? have u had to do any rebuilds?
Hey, great videos! I was wondering how reliable is the bike, how many miles? any trouble with this setup? Might have to copy you! Thanks!
Well seeing as it hasn't given me a single problem, I'd say it's 100% reliable :p I've probably ridden it for about 3000 miles now. Great Video!!
34 hp is impressive!
So what did the dyno show after the build was done?
Seriously nice vid.
How much did the kit cost?
Have you noticed any reliability loss? do the valves need to be adjusted or checked sooner? and more frequent oil changes
MrBryantb2 No. I've ridden her for around 2000 miles now. Only changed the oil and cleaned the filter. The valves should not have to be checked any sooner. I'll check them in another 20k miles.
MrBryantb2 normal oil changes, btw.
minitstop that is awesome!!! must doooo.
why do you have an expansion chamber on a 4 stroke ?
Lol, It's not an expansion chamber. It's an FMF Megabomb designed for 4 strokes. It is not hollow and is designed to change the power curve, increase torque and brake horsepower over stock pipes (especially when up-bored/stroked) while suppressing the exhaust note a little.
hey bro, you from Hawaii? some of those trails look like home...
Kevin Acasio notice that too pretty cool
now i wonder what the total cost of daisy chain is and how it compares to a ktm 350cc...

What kinda headlight you got on her?
did the vibration increase ?
how much power was it making after all of the mods?
Does the 310 still run on pump gas?
another awesome video, dude.. but, bad ass'ery, huh ? ha!
how much was it to make her a 310?
I really can't say. I only paid for the parts.
How much does it cost to tune the engine?
Hey Minitstop, How is the bike holding up? What kind of mileage are you getting? What's you mileage compared to the WR250R?
Well if it's a good indication, For the past 10 days, I have ridden more than 800 miles via roads, dirt, rock, sand and snow. One of the stretches was from St. George Utah to Moab which is about 400 miles and with and average speed of 60. In Moab, I crashed and broke the water pump. I had to ride for 10 miles without coolant. I would ride till she got hot then let her cool off. It was the only way. I got a new pump and continued to ride. If done right and tuned well, a WR290/310R will be quite reliable. The only thing I want to change is to go back to a smaller sprocket. I did this all on a 46/13. yikes!
Sorry. broke the water pump cover. not the actual pump.

That is Sweet!
+hillbillydualsport Thanks!
if you only ride dirt and ride street in an RV why? would you need a dual sport
805gregg I rode it from St. George to Moab last September. 400 miles on the road, brah. That's why.
Is that an S15 in the garage?
MrBryantb2 S13, S15 front.
How much hp did it make with the 310
34.2 hp / 21 ft lbs torque from Mr Duhfactor dyno vid.
wish Yamaha up the engine size to 300-350cc, the WR250R frame, clutch, brakes can handle that.
Guarrans it can handle being a 450! To be honest, a WR250R with just a 290 kit, power commander and a slip on is perfect! I love my 290!
minitstop you should try to do an engine swap like use a wr250r frame but use a motocross 450 engine and see how it will work out because it has not been done on TH-cam that I can find a least
It's the bike Yamaha should have made.

minitstop thats crazy! i have an 06 WR450F that i made street legal and mine tops out at about 85, but the gearing i have on it, i think, is more towards acceleration not top speed. i dont believe the grey wire, or any other mods have been done to my bike. so i cant even go full throttle :(
110mph???? holy jesus my uncorked DR650 cant even do that on pavement
Wouldn't it be easier to make a WR450 street legal?
+IRLtrolls Easier yes but no sixth gear, no 20,000 mile valve check intervals and I absolutely need that for multi-1000+ mile road journeys that i'm going to be doing. I would however, love a new, fuel injected WR450F for here on Maui but making them street legal is now impossible :(.
The Ithaca kit costs about 1 grand and another 1 grand to install because you will need a new carb to use more fuel tru said carb and tuning to get it just right, not worth it.
+Keith James I don't know what an Ithaca kit is nor why it's relevant to a WR250R that is fuel injected and has been since it's creation in 2008 :p
you never said what happened to the first daisy
+Richard Monica She's sitting right behind me in my man cave :p
You buy wr450f. No power problem
The WR450F is a great bike but for me, it absolutely does not make the cut for what I need in my bikes. If I want to ride a trail-only bike, I'd opt for two stroke KTM.
braddah sound like he from hawaii
sure sounds like a real thumper now
I have to wipe the drool off my keyboard.....I have a new WR 250R at the dealer with a sold sticker on it......Hmmm 310 kit.....
