Quansheng UV-K5 Mod. - High Sensitivity, Low Noise (better SATCOM Mod)

140.000 MHz 4.24 dB -- 302.000 MHz 3.34 dB. We are going to install two 15nH Murata coils & two BFU550AR low noise transistors. Optionally, or in addition, we are going to spread 3 coils. This is NOT an original SATCOM Mod., this is an improved SATCOM Mod. by SergeyPRS_v2, link to Sergey's original post regarding this Mod. is down bellow.
Additionally, to your delight, we are going to do this simple Mod. using solder iron, so that you can do it yourself at home. So sit back, pop a cold one, and give me 20 minutes and I will explain and show you everything! Don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit the bell icon!

1. LOW MELT SOLDER (or Rose's Metal), ask for chemical composition
2. 63/37 solder, for example Mechanic TY-V866, I used 0.6mm
3. Solder wick, GOOD WICK or Mechanic, I used 3mm wide CP-3015
4. Flux, for example Mechanic UV559
5. Flux off, or Benzin or Nefras-M C2-80/120
6. Optionally, small cheap solder iron

This mod is based on "Перестройка преселектора р/ст Quansheng UV-K5 на Satcom" radiokot forum mod. With some improvements like low noise transistors and high Q coil. Please google it and insert link below video because i cant post it in comments.

The first blue coil you soldered, the solder pad on the right is soldered to the black chip next to it. Is that correct?

That "black chip" is zero Ohm resistor. Essentially you can put jumper instead of it. Signal goes through the coil, through that ZERO Ohm resistor and further. Yes, everything correct.
Someone done a satcom mod and knock those parts out, so I measured, that's why I know their values.

@@codernov Cheers. I managed to search them out on ali from the names. It has to be BFU550AR, and I can't use BFU550A? The A is much cheaper.

According to datasheet they are the same thing. Why are you searching names and stuff, I gave you link. You can also get them from mouser, farnell, digikey and the like. I'm pretty sure also amazon and eBay. Ali of course. For me ali is best, because it's cheaper.

How you doing Andrei. We speak here English so that the reach is GLOBAL. This is the reason all my videos are in English, plus the comments must also be in English, more or less. Benzin is bough at hardware store, most hardware stores carry it. Good luck.

This mod is tops from 140 all the way up to 302 MHz!! See response chart in the description, measurement is between antenna connector and transistor.
