The difference between Childe's and Signora's theme is that Childe incorporates Liyue instruments into his theme before dropping the Snezhnayan orchestra, as a sign of 1) him being a major character during the Liyue Chapter, 2) him having lived in Liyue for a while and eventually taking a liking to its culture (or just the chopsticks), and 3) him being a playful jerk and not taking the fight seriously until he got jebaited/trolled by Signora and Morax. Signora is nothing like that. Both of her phases mainly use Mondstadt instruments, among which is the piano, before finally releasing the Snezhnayan choir in the second phase. This hints at two things: 1) She doesn't give two shits about Inazuma besides taking the Archon's Gnosis, and 2) She is still a Mondstadter at heart; joining the Fatui only serves as a shackle to subdue the ever-raging flames within her, the (very personal) flames of resentment towards Barbatos for indirectly killing her lover.

The fact that Childe's bossfight theme is an Electro Tango makes it even more awesome, as an argentinian I understood the reference. Tango is an extremely private dance between two people trying to match each other's steps, you need to learn the steps perfectly to be on the same level as your partner and not fall, it's so passionate and intimate. Such a subtle yet perfect detail taking into account that Childe became obsessed with the traveller to the point where he wants to fight them everytime, learn their movements and become stronger. Just ugh, amazing, I love Electro Tango and this song giving me big Bajofondo Tango Club / Gotan Project vibes is perfect.
6:26 and beyond gives me utter chills. the ticking sounds signifying how childe can’t use foul legacy for too long or he’ll die- the fully sneznhayan winter-like theme fully contrasting the cheerful-liyue touched beginning of his theme… the subdued whimsical tone… just wow.
Oh my god i didn't even notice that. it signifies how he has a time limit on this fight, that's amazing symbolism! Better yet, when the song ends, so does the timer, and so does his transformation - his time was up
It is crazy when you think about Childe's canonical skill. He literally mastered every weapon except a bow, which he uses as his main weapon in order to master it. He survived on his own in the Abyss for months. He not only survived using a Delusion, but unlocked its ultimate form by combining it with his Vision. And he is only a bit older than Aether
Actually, the foul legacy is something he learnt on the abyss from his master (Skirk) before he had a vision most likely, the foul legacy only allows him to use the delusion and the vision at the same time plus the power up that comes with using it lol
@@magicalgirl4 tbh, I am not sure. Traveler definitely lost a lot of thier memory, but the game seems to indicate they remember more than what is being told (which is so frustrating). So it is hard to tell if they would remember thier life experiences of 500+ years or if it is just thier body remembering those experiences (thus being why they are such a skilled fighter)
I love the difference in how the three different phases sound compared to how seriously Childe is taking the fight. The first part is playful, light hearted but has menacing undertones. He’s playing with the MC and fighting to amuse himself. The second phase is when he realizes it isn’t going to be an easy victory, and the final phase he just goes bonkers

New genshin players won't know about when this boss was first released and Mihoyo had to nerf him less than a week later in the story quest. Also there was no Zhongli at the time and most people was still AR45.
My Noelle was literally laughing at that Childe. Anytime his whale would hit her shield, it’d block all of it’s damage + 1,600 hp of my characters. Since I had a powerful Keqing and spin-to-heal C4 Noelle, we had it in the bag. Too bad that Childe is now a literal punching bag for me and my C6 Noelle…
No matter his name, he's still more fiendish than anything you'll find in the Abyss. He doesn't have goals, he just considers wreaking havoc to be a good time, and isn't picky about where he causes it even if he prefers a strong opponent.

@@rajatbose893 Been over this a lot since that update. Sorry to disappoint you but it's the other way around. Now I'm sure other harbingers are strong as well, but probably not in this way, and Childe's the only one of them who can use abyss magic. He's literally called a "weapon of war" for the Tsaritsa by Dainsleif. Childe's one of the strongest among them in terms of raw power, if not rivaling the strongest of them outright. He predicts that if he and traveler teamed up they could beat the harbingers (most definitely not conting the Tsaritsa though), and Childe seems pretty good at guessing other people's strength. Obviously, we have to keep in mind that we're talking raw power of a single person. There's another harbinger called Dottore, that guy's just a regular person without even any powers, but he's able to make machines that are really powerful. In the lore he claims he can construct a "mechanical god". I'm sure that on his own, he couldn't fight a regular person, but with his gadgets and an army of robots it balances out. Same goes for others, they're strong in their own right, I'm sure, at the very least gameplay wise, but this is how the story is. Edit: And to adress the main misconception, him being the 11th harbinger doesn't mean he's weak, they are numbered like that in terms of seniority, meaning Childe being the last, 11th, is the newest to join, and the 1st harbinger for example is the oldest member.
God I love this man so much… He’s so powerful and he still cares so much for his family and is just overall such a well-written character who has made me want to learn more about the Fatui and the Tsaritsa and of course learn more about Childe himself. As many others have said, I love how as the music progresses, it reflects Childe’s attitude towards the battle, and how it goes from being light and fun to him using the Foul Legacy transformation and going all out. Definitely some of my favorite somgs in this amazing OST!
I definitely want to learn more about Childe’s past, the abyss (who was his teacher in reality? what did the abyss trained him in exchange for?), his big family, becoming a Harbinger, etc etc. He’s one of the most interesting and complex characters of the game and I need another story quest or at least some chapters dedicated to him in Genshin Impact’s manga. I also want to know about Snezhnaya culture, it fascinates me so much, how would a nation buried in snow and its people look? Tartaglia is one of them and he’s such a curious character I can’t wait to see more people from Snezhnaya.
i really wanted tartaglia and whenever i heard about his past in the internet i was like: oh my poor tartaglia, but i just got him a few days ago, i only have 4th lvl of friendship with him and when i read about him im his profile. it makes me want to cry…, its so sad that after when childe returned from the abyss, he has changed, he spent there lots of time and then, when his family noticed his behaviour his father decided to put him into fatui, as a harbinger, he cant get out of fatui so simply and he has to suffer there even if he doesnt want to, he will be never free out of there until mc will beat tsaritsa, he is so young and he doesnt even have highlighs in his eyes, he makes me really sad and i feel really sorry for him, signora’s past is also sad, every person in the fatui is suffering, its just the matter of time for mihoyo to make same scenario for scaramouche

It pissed me off especially when collecting geoculus because we have to change to anemo and geo Also that one time we go to jade chamber i actually use geo Aether so i have to change to anemo in order to make wind current
11 harbringers are too many and not to mention MC's power is progressively growing at a scary rate, I wont be surprised if we get double or triple fatui harbringer fights in a ambush setting where MC is trapped and forced to beat all three harbringer asses later on the story
The flute during the first phase has to be my favorite part of Childe's OST, especially 0:30, it just carries that feeling of a fast but very fierce and personal fight, almost like a dance of death, if you will.

Fun fact: They didn't actually nerf Childe fight, they just fixed the level bug, in the early version when you fought him in story mode his level was random generated between 62, 72, 82 and 92, now his level is tired to your AR, you can check early twitch gameplay streams, when Sekapoko fought him in story mode he got a lv 72 Childe fight, Enviosity got a lv 82 Childe fight at way lower AR, that's why some people thought the fight was so hard, they got the shorter end of the RNG stick.
my team was an average of lv 50-60s at the time I fought him, I think I would've died immediately in game and out if I went in to fight him and he was a 92 haha,, but he was a 45 for me at the time which ended the fight easy but whew

The whole OST of this game continues to blow me away in every way. This level of production quality is insane and this theme is a prime example of what Mihoyo can do.
The best part of his theme is that it starts with instruments found in other liyue music, then it starts to slowling change. Other instruments crawl into the mix, just as the thought crawls inside your head that you might actually lose this fight. Then in his third phase the music goes full on russian instruments as Childe, the eleventh of the harbingers of the Fatui challenges you with the whole might of snezhnaya. TLDR I love him
Honestly, the last part of the song isn't really "Russian" it's just pretty generic boss music. Tho ofc that doesn't understate it quality or power of inspiring dread in everyone who hears it. Truly amazing game!
He was a dope villain in liyue story but knowing him better in his side missions, he is a dope antiheroe, im scared he passes away when snezhnaya story is released :(
actually, he's an antivillian! An antihero is someone who does heroic things for questionable reasons, an antivillian is someone who does questionable things for heroic reasons. Ex: the reason Tartaglia fights at all, besides just enjoying it, is to protect those close to him. He's also very straightforward and honest, much unlike the Fatui itself
@Sheep is for the week I mean Hoyoverse isn’t shy to kill off playable characters look at Murata Himeko from Honkai Impact. They killed her and she was a playable character so we can’t really role out the possibility that he won’t die because he’s a playable character.

The fact that this is just the 1st "true" boss fight in the game is astounding. I cannot wait to see what Mihoyo does for the remaining regions. The last act of the Liyue chapter was fucking stellar.
by true, you mean one where we werent given an extra character or made to cut the battle in half? because technically, childe was nerfed for the battle (which i was VERY grateful for, considering he got me to eat all my food and leave nearly nothing for the osial battle) but yes, i ABSOLUTELY AGREE. childe's battle is always insane. the music, the moves, the phases, the art and animations...
Although while it’s upbeat, it also constantly tells you are screwed and constantly elevates that level of screwed you are over time and in the final phase it’s telling you’re full blown dark souls screwed.
@@deathwingthedestroyer3632 Nah, Childe gives you attacks that are easy to dodge in the first phase, in the second phase you just have to wait for the perfect timing so that he doesn't do you a bit of damage, and the final one is a bit complicated by the size of his attacks but nothing out of the ordinary Signora from the beginning is bothering with the cryo indicator and has attacks with a quite annoying timing, and her second phase is worse, with a higher accumulated damage, a huge area and the tornado phase I don't even want to mention it Scaramouche from the beginning is bombarding you with elemental reactions and attacks that are difficult to dodge, although in his case his second phase is easier than the first.
A little reminder: between 2-nd and 3-d stages was a cutscene, where he find out exuvia is no londer in the dragon's body. And then he decided we made him a fool and took it before him. And THEN he became a magical girl coz his main plan was threatended with failure. In the first stage the battle was for fun, in second - we fight as equal. When he told "l will be gentle", he didn't expect to use foul legacy

I love the phase 1 and 2 music! It starts off almost playful, but the more it goes on the more tense and strained it gets. It really matches Childes vibe of just honestly lacking a real challenge, playing with you but steadily realizing you're not someone he can play around with. Then in the transformation phase everything falls and stops... And immediately gets fucking intense.

Man i used barbara and both times, story and weekly i ended with 2 dead characters and 2 almost dead after reviving twice I need to get better at dodging his attacks
AR55+ players should be able to choose difficulty for level 110 Childe so that they enjoy the music rather than killing him before even the music picks up
It is interesting that at first the music seems a little playful and frivolous. But with each stage, it becomes more serious, as if it conveys the mood of Childe
I WILL NEVER GET OVER HOW GOOD ALL THE FATUI THEMES ARE especially now that we've got scaramouche's, everything is falling into place like these tunes are just so intentionally brilliant
I like how at 1:17, the violins in the background play the same notes at 6:46. But in the first phase, it sounds subdued, building up in the background, almost hinting that something big is gonna happen, teasing the player. The violins are quiet (piano or mezzo piano?) and they don’t have the melody. I guess it represents Childe’s attitude at that moment? Battling it out for the satisfaction of battle, knowing that he’ll win. But in the third phase, the violins are one of the LOUDEST instruments in that section (fortissimo maybe?). It makes me think about how desperate Childe felt when he realized the Gnosis wasn’t in the Exuvia. It’s like the buildup of teasing confidence from the first phase transformed into something more akin to raw emotion, shock, and anger. Idk if that made sense, I’m not rlly good at explaining myself lol~ but I thought that it was interesting, and the detail Yu-Peng Chen puts into his music is phenomenal.

He survived on his own in the Abyss for months.
He not only survived using a Delusion, but unlocked its ultimate form by combining it with his Vision.
And he is only a bit older than Aether
Actually, the foul legacy is something he learnt on the abyss from his master (Skirk) before he had a vision most likely, the foul legacy only allows him to use the delusion and the vision at the same time plus the power up that comes with using it lol

@@magicalgirl4 tbh, I am not sure. Traveler definitely lost a lot of thier memory, but the game seems to indicate they remember more than what is being told (which is so frustrating).
So it is hard to tell if they would remember thier life experiences of 500+ years or if it is just thier body remembering those experiences (thus being why they are such a skilled fighter)
I love the difference in how the three different phases sound compared to how seriously Childe is taking the fight. The first part is playful, light hearted but has menacing undertones. He’s playing with the MC and fighting to amuse himself. The second phase is when he realizes it isn’t going to be an easy victory, and the final phase he just goes bonkers

No matter his name, he's still more fiendish than anything you'll find in the Abyss. He doesn't have goals, he just considers wreaking havoc to be a good time, and isn't picky about where he causes it even if he prefers a strong opponent.

@@rajatbose893 Been over this a lot since that update. Sorry to disappoint you but it's the other way around. Now I'm sure other harbingers are strong as well, but probably not in this way, and Childe's the only one of them who can use abyss magic. He's literally called a "weapon of war" for the Tsaritsa by Dainsleif. Childe's one of the strongest among them in terms of raw power, if not rivaling the strongest of them outright. He predicts that if he and traveler teamed up they could beat the harbingers (most definitely not conting the Tsaritsa though), and Childe seems pretty good at guessing other people's strength.
Obviously, we have to keep in mind that we're talking raw power of a single person. There's another harbinger called Dottore, that guy's just a regular person without even any powers, but he's able to make machines that are really powerful. In the lore he claims he can construct a "mechanical god". I'm sure that on his own, he couldn't fight a regular person, but with his gadgets and an army of robots it balances out. Same goes for others, they're strong in their own right, I'm sure, at the very least gameplay wise, but this is how the story is.
Edit: And to adress the main misconception, him being the 11th harbinger doesn't mean he's weak, they are numbered like that in terms of seniority, meaning Childe being the last, 11th, is the newest to join, and the 1st harbinger for example is the oldest member.
God I love this man so much… He’s so powerful and he still cares so much for his family and is just overall such a well-written character who has made me want to learn more about the Fatui and the Tsaritsa and of course learn more about Childe himself. As many others have said, I love how as the music progresses, it reflects Childe’s attitude towards the battle, and how it goes from being light and fun to him using the Foul Legacy transformation and going all out. Definitely some of my favorite somgs in this amazing OST!

I definitely want to learn more about Childe’s past, the abyss (who was his teacher in reality? what did the abyss trained him in exchange for?), his big family, becoming a Harbinger, etc etc. He’s one of the most interesting and complex characters of the game and I need another story quest or at least some chapters dedicated to him in Genshin Impact’s manga. I also want to know about Snezhnaya culture, it fascinates me so much, how would a nation buried in snow and its people look? Tartaglia is one of them and he’s such a curious character I can’t wait to see more people from Snezhnaya.
i really wanted tartaglia and whenever i heard about his past in the internet i was like: oh my poor tartaglia, but i just got him a few days ago, i only have 4th lvl of friendship with him and when i read about him im his profile. it makes me want to cry…, its so sad that after when childe returned from the abyss, he has changed, he spent there lots of time and then, when his family noticed his behaviour his father decided to put him into fatui, as a harbinger, he cant get out of fatui so simply and he has to suffer there even if he doesnt want to, he will be never free out of there until mc will beat tsaritsa, he is so young and he doesnt even have highlighs in his eyes, he makes me really sad and i feel really sorry for him, signora’s past is also sad, every person in the fatui is suffering, its just the matter of time for mihoyo to make same scenario for scaramouche

I love how it gradually goes from the more upbeat, flute-y style of Liyue to the harsh, minor-key orchestral sounds of Snezhnaya
Fun fact: They didn't actually nerf Childe fight, they just fixed the level bug, in the early version when you fought him in story mode his level was random generated between 62, 72, 82 and 92, now his level is tired to your AR, you can check early twitch gameplay streams, when Sekapoko fought him in story mode he got a lv 72 Childe fight, Enviosity got a lv 82 Childe fight at way lower AR, that's why some people thought the fight was so hard, they got the shorter end of the RNG stick.
So it was all RNGesus's fault after all

The whole OST of this game continues to blow me away in every way. This level of production quality is insane and this theme is a prime example of what Mihoyo can do.
The first phase, with the flute, is my favorite
The best part of his theme is that it starts with instruments found in other liyue music, then it starts to slowling change. Other instruments crawl into the mix, just as the thought crawls inside your head that you might actually lose this fight. Then in his third phase the music goes full on russian instruments as Childe, the eleventh of the harbingers of the Fatui challenges you with the whole might of snezhnaya.
TLDR I love him
Honestly, the last part of the song isn't really "Russian" it's just pretty generic boss music. Tho ofc that doesn't understate it quality or power of inspiring dread in everyone who hears it. Truly amazing game!

actually, he's an antivillian! An antihero is someone who does heroic things for questionable reasons, an antivillian is someone who does questionable things for heroic reasons. Ex: the reason Tartaglia fights at all, besides just enjoying it, is to protect those close to him. He's also very straightforward and honest, much unlike the Fatui itself

@@emchou3 Only in story was nerfed. Hes the same as always when you rebattle him for the weekly. World level 5-6(whatever ar40+45 is) in particular is really hard.

Scara and Signora's theme is so menacing from the beginning, while his is carefree and lovely. He truly is the babygirl of Fatui.
Although while it’s upbeat, it also constantly tells you are screwed and constantly elevates that level of screwed you are over time and in the final phase it’s telling you’re full blown dark souls screwed.
@@deathwingthedestroyer3632 Nah, Childe gives you attacks that are easy to dodge in the first phase, in the second phase you just have to wait for the perfect timing so that he doesn't do you a bit of damage, and the final one is a bit complicated by the size of his attacks but nothing out of the ordinary
Signora from the beginning is bothering with the cryo indicator and has attacks with a quite annoying timing, and her second phase is worse, with a higher accumulated damage, a huge area and the tornado phase I don't even want to mention it
Scaramouche from the beginning is bombarding you with elemental reactions and attacks that are difficult to dodge, although in his case his second phase is easier than the first.

And THEN he became a magical girl coz his main plan was threatended with failure. In the first stage the battle was for fun, in second - we fight as equal. When he told "l will be gentle", he didn't expect to use foul legacy

I love the phase 1 and 2 music! It starts off almost playful, but the more it goes on the more tense and strained it gets. It really matches Childes vibe of just honestly lacking a real challenge, playing with you but steadily realizing you're not someone he can play around with.
Then in the transformation phase everything falls and stops... And immediately gets fucking intense.

especially now that we've got scaramouche's, everything is falling into place like these tunes are just so intentionally brilliant
I like how at 1:17, the violins in the background play the same notes at 6:46.
But in the first phase, it sounds subdued, building up in the background, almost hinting that something big is gonna happen, teasing the player. The violins are quiet (piano or mezzo piano?) and they don’t have the melody. I guess it represents Childe’s attitude at that moment? Battling it out for the satisfaction of battle, knowing that he’ll win.
But in the third phase, the violins are one of the LOUDEST instruments in that section (fortissimo maybe?). It makes me think about how desperate Childe felt when he realized the Gnosis wasn’t in the Exuvia. It’s like the buildup of teasing confidence from the first phase transformed into something more akin to raw emotion, shock, and anger.
Idk if that made sense, I’m not rlly good at explaining myself lol~ but I thought that it was interesting, and the detail Yu-Peng Chen puts into his music is phenomenal.
