Thank you so much. I didn’t know about closing a YO using KTBL on wrong side. You always spend so much time and attention to educating and helping us.
Yay! Just remember, if you are creating stockinette you'd want to purl it through the back loop or else you'll get a purl bump on the RS.
Your video on M1L and M1R is permanent in my brain…I hear your words each time I execute. Thank you.
LOL, that's both hilarious and wonderful to hear!
Dangerous knitter badges please hahaha! Great info.
You know, I have considered doing enamel pins, but the initial outlay as far as costs go is pretty steep. Dangerous knitter would be fun tho LOL
@WatchBarbaraKnit well i would wear them proudly on my knitting scout sash!
This series is so great. I have come across patterns that simply say to increase. I always just picked something at random. This video is a huge help.
The choice definitely matters to how the end product looks. I'm glad I could help.
As always, very useful/helpful information! Thanks for the in-depth analysis!!!
Glad it was helpful!
This was awesome! I substitute things in patterns all the time (usually the method of short rows) and rarely thought about it. I think my next modification project will be better because if this video.
That is great to hear. Substituting is fun and honestly, it's not like it's gonna blow up if you pick the "wrong" substitution. But there is a certain level of finesse to it and it's great to be able to predict the results.
I have been knitting Barbie dresses with fingering weight yarn and 0/2.0 mm needles and found a new-to-me increase that's invisible at this size: the "e" cast on. I haven't tried it with larger yarn.
Very informative discussion on increases. I felt like I was in a science class...a nice experience. Thank you.
LOL, I'm glad you like science class.
Some of your best quotes in this one: "consumptive stitch" and "I want y'all to be dangerous knitters". :) I am such a dangerous knitter at this point!
LOL, dangerous knitters for the win.
This is a fantastic video, Barbara! Great info! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great podcast thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is a very useful video, but mostly just confirmed my instinct of "this is one of the few things in a pattern I'm not going to touch" some things I'm happy just trusting the expert lol
Give it time, I'm pretty sure you will slide into expert without realizing it.
@@WatchBarbaraKnit That's so sweet of you to say, thank you
Good info!! Learned things!!
Yay for learning things!
This was so interesting, thank you! Are M1, M1 left and M1 right three different increases or are the M1L and M1R the two types of M1? For example, when a pattern calls for a M1, it doesn’t matter if you go left or right?
Short answer, they are 3 different increases. M1 is centered and leaves a small hole. m1R/L are directional and do not leave holes. For more insight you might want to check out this video that is all about the subject LOL: th-cam.com/video/gOrVgRNZrWQ/w-d-xo.html
@@WatchBarbaraKnit thank you Barbara!
