"My love for Shaye isn't very pure, either..." is the most wholesome teen journal entry ever, especially considering the 22 years you've shared since! 😇 💕
@@GreatScotts I met my forever person in 2002 as well, and the thing that we always give to each other is unconditional acceptance, no matter how other people may judge our choices as individuals or as a couple. Our story unfolded very differently than yours, but we get a lot of, "Really? She did WHAT? And you are okay with it? Hmm. How...unconventional." Some people will never understand us, but we really don't care what anyone thinks! I'm relating so much to your story, even though our stories are so different. Love is love! 🌈 ❤
I was raised Mormon and everything you talked about is giving me flashbacks 😂😂 I left the church because I didn’t feel like I fit in. Not for the same reasons as Shaye, but I still didn’t fit the typical/ideal “Molly Mormon” image. I’m not romantically/sexually attracted to either men or women, or really anyone. I’ve always been this way but just in the last year or so I’ve really embraced this and realized this is who I am. I’ve always questioned Mormonism and had doubts, and I’ve never aspired to the traditional female role: homemaker, mother, quiet, dainty, etc. I’m the complete opposite. I’m loud, crude, outspoken and I have no plans to be married. I never got any major pushback or criticism because of this but I always felt out of place. So much so to the point that around COVID when everything shut down I decided not to go back to church when things went back to normal. And now here I am. I’m still struggling with my decision and feeling isolated and out of place but I’m slowly working towards accepting my decision and who I am in this new chapter of my life. Thank you guys for this video. It was very sweet and eye opening
How beautiful and what a journey. You know what Id like to see/hear is Shaye playing something on the piano that goes for more than a couple of minutes. Big piano fan.
Ok Girl,..."Shaye is so sweet". Not,... I'm 60, and I'm laughing my butt off over here,..."Shaye is what?...Sexy". In your own writing! You both are so genuine. The way you sit and chat with each other and let us listen in, is so sincere. It's beautiful really. I'm also impressed with your Brother-in-law and his strength for standing up for truth. What a great family ❣️ By the way, I'm still laughing. Thank you for sharing the LOVE ❤️ Many Blessings.
As someone who is older, and trans, and who has avoided dating and intimacy most of my adult life, out of fear of rejection (for being trans) your ❤️ story is beautiful and inspirational! The fact that your marriage endures and thrives, is sadly still the exception rather than the rule. I do however see more and more relations surviving post-transition, so I am hopeful for the future (even if it’s too late for me!) Thank you for sharing your story! True love is such a beautiful thing! ❤❤❤
**I want to first say that I am trying very hard to use the correct wording and terminology to be respectful towards everyone, including the LGBTQIA+ community. Sometimes, I fall very short. If I do so, please let me know but there is no need for meanness. A gentle nudge is enough. ** Stories like this makes me see that there are still couples who truly do love deeper than the surface. When I fell in love with my husband (at 16), I fell in love with the person. No matter what, I can't imagine leaving. This story is so genuine. It is beautiful. I can not love this enough!!
The depth of your love for each other is an inspiration!! I love that Shaye said that "we've always been changing" - such a profound life statement for all of us.
When I saw you for the first time, it was in your video “Why We Left.” A few days later I was telling my husband about your story. I will never forget that when Shay finally told you (Amanda) about his gender dysphoria, your reaction was to feel so sad that Shay had been carrying this on his own for so long. And I felt the sincerity of that-nothing like “he deceived me,” or anything about yourself-all about Shay, the person you have loved all your adult life. My husband and I were both raised Mormon and we’ve been married 35 years, together 38. I remember talking with one of my siblings about unconditional love. I said that there is nothing I could do that would cause Cameron to stop loving me. He would do absolutely everything in his power to meet me exactly where I am. If you have that, you are unbelievably fortunate, and it’s the thing I wanted for each of our 3 children, for them to find someone who loves them like that. Both of you are beautiful, inside and out, and I am sending our very best wishes for your continuing happiness.
Thank you so much for your videos, both of you!. I have recently started my transition and your channel has been a beautifully realistic view, seeing your family grow through this wonderful experience brings hope!
I love them and while i know she is supportive of the wife's transition i hope she has given herself the room and space to grieve or process her sadness. Centering both peoples feelings and emotions is important. I am not saying they arent doing so clearly they love each other but in a society that promotes toxic positivity and suppressing certain emotions or fears....i do love the grace exemplified by both but its like i want to ask "how are you really doing" "did you grieve truthfully" "did you do therapy"...regardless i wish you both well...beautiful and graceful.
The ending XD I had to watch it multiple times!!! I loveeeeeee watching your videos. Shaye I couldn't be happier to see you living your life authentically. It feels like this is who you were all along and you just look so gorgeous and happy!!
Hi Scotts, I have been following you for awhile. I have enjoyed watching your family and your growth. I have mentioned before how so much of what you have said about your journey is really familiar to me. This evening I watched a couple of the older videos from when you first came out to when you had your ffs. When listening to both of you answer questions it just was really thoughtful and affirming. In a world where our journey is being used by bad faith actors for their own gain, it`s reassuring to listen to a positive message about being ourselves. I hope you all are well and extremely happy. Love Marie
The editing voice over / animations / visuals made this story one of the best. Thanx for giving us a glimpse of your life.EDIT: Definitely need a part2
A friend of mine who transitioned moved to Utah. They been married with kids many years. Kids are older and moved out now. But they've stayed together through it all. She is so very happy now. Their love is amazing. I've followed her story for a few years now. Wonder if you live close to them. Would be a great friendship going through the same things. They are both amazing people.
Really enjoyed this. Its amazing that Amanda still has her diary from when you all first met. And what Shaye said about relationships and people always changing is so true
Hi Ladies, you are absolutely wonderful human beings. I've been watching your videos for a couple of days and your journey together has completely amazed me, there is so much love, commitment, acceptance and openness. I look at you and think, I would like the world to be like this. I wish all the best to your entire family.
so much love!!!! I'm glad you found yourselves and extricated from mormon views. I have loved following your journey. lots of learning and heart opening moments.
Omg this is such a beautiful love story ❤❤❤ Hearing it brought tears to my eyes. You both make such a beautiful couple. May God always shower his blessings on both of you.
hey ladies, I am a newbie & I am SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY I found you 2, this is my 1st video I'm watching. I adore your connection & agree with Shaye that you are both so lucky to have found eachother so young, grew up together & are still in love.. Your are the true meaning of dedication & love. Also your both stunning women. Thanks for your time I so look forward to hearing more & learning more about your love as well as adventures. Kat ✌💜🙃🙏
it's so damn evident that y'all love each so much~ and that's what matters, the PERSON you love, not what 'suit' they are in. when you find that, not much else matters, and you'd best hold onto it for dear life. i'm so glad you stayed together. much love
I honestly loved this video so much I watched it twice 😂😂 but what a beautiful love story! So glad you guys are a family ❤ By the way, just wanted to say you two are both beautiful women inside and out, and wow is Shaye ever a striking beauty! No wonder your children are so gorgeous.
What a beautiful loving couple. I've already watched several videos of them - leaving the church & transitioning.. and what strikes me every time is there raw honesty and humility and ultimately that love conquers all ❤❤❤
I love your story! I think it's so wonderful and brave of both of you to share this with everyone on TH-cam! I started watching you about 17 months ago when you left the Mormon Church. Which I sure was hard and then transition which must have been even harder. I see this as a blessing. Native Americans called this two spirits that a person has, one Male and one Female. It's to be celebrated and I think you both have this special gift! Blessing and hope you have a wonderful life together!!
@@THEMADHATTRESSCan you explain it to me then? I worked at the Ute Tribe in Northeast Utah and that is what I was told. I realize there is a lot of Diversity among different tribes. I just feel the Native Americans I have met are a lot more accepting of Gender issues.
Oh my goodness that is the sweetest story of how two hearts became one. Love the innocence and the respect, the world needs more of that for sure. Happy Valentines to true love!💕💕💕
You are a very beautiful couple. You are each other's strength. You are each other's support. You are each other's rock. You are each other's heart. It proves that even transgender people can find love with a partner that supports them to the fullest, without any strings attached. I hope that you two stay together forever. Love is love!!
I love how you all edit your content such class and top notch storytelling. It’s as if we were there in the moment with you all. Love is love that is how it should be. Genitalia is only God’s way of accessorizing ❤
Awwe while I have to say I am conflicted about transgender your love is so beautiful and can’t be denied ♥️. Also everyone has the right to be their authentic self. I just struggle with feeling like God makes us our authentic selves. God Bless yall ❤
I’d love to hear more about Shaye’s mission & return home. You are both looking so very beautiful! Your light shines when you’re living your truth! ✨❤️✨
Am loving your story! You guys are an amazing couple, great parents, and I’m so pleased you have the courage to inform those of us who really did not understand “trans” what that means. I knew “gay”, have no problem at all with them, and am now understanding trans, am happy to be educated. Thank you for your videos. Love you both!

Oh gosh , love the read from the diary ! I used to have them in school as well, journals all that stuff. I am a few years older than y'all and I really didn't think folks did those anymore, or they just translate it to a phone ! Lol You all could make a movie out of this ! I had so hoped that one of the magazines I sent your gay parade pride day kiss would be picked up and put out there ! It was such a statement and love ! I absolutely loved hearing your story and hope you have a part 2 soon. I’ve been following you since your first vlog and love your family. Skyler and his family got me hooked on your channel too. Love to you! ❤️
Shaye was a very handsome man but she is a very beautiful woman and I honestly believe it’s because she’s happy and healthy and it shows❤ I also live in Utah but I’m not Mormon and I was actually raised in Las Vegas so I probably think differently than the average person you are used to being around but I think that you kids have a beautiful young family.
Sorry to sound rude, but y'all do look like sisters. O_O but it's funny in pics y'all look alike, but in videos you look completely different. That is a sweet story how y'all met. I love that Amanda stood by Shaye like she's never leaving her no matter what. Love is Love. Happy Valentine's day :)
Me and my wife are so in the same moment as you. We just don't post supporting and upholding encouraging vidéo like you two. You are an inspiration to us all. We should form a club to share.
You two are simply amazing - grew up Adventist, very must the same exactly the same dynamics. You're both so healthy, despite all the Mormon stuff (which is disquietingly similar to SDA culture).... I envy your lives. You're brilliantly "sain et sauf".... BTW, I'm learning the violin at 72, so I get the piano-symbiosis!
Thanks for the story. One of you said "i just wanted to know that you know that i existed"... i kinda had a situation that reminded me of that quote. A cashier at a grocery store who i thought is beautiful said: happy new year ... (i looked behind me thinking she wasnt talking to me) so she says: yes you !! So i go up to her and tell her shes my favorite cashier and i asked her name. Now i am too shy to visit her in the grocery store.
Happy Valentine’s Day 💖
Happy Sweeties Day
Happy Valentine’s Day. ❤️ Shaye got roses…I’m completely jealous.
I love that Shay told you not to wait, that is so loving. Shows how much Shay loved you then and clearly still loves you now.

Animating Shaye as a girl in the flashback scene brought a little tear to my eye.

Oh my goodness yes Gillbert Blythe. I see it. And I think many of us boy-crazy girls of that age and time put Gilbert at the top of our crush list.
New subscriber here! Seeing you two relive how you fell in love was beautiful 🤍 So sweet how you have your journal entries to look back on 🫶🏼

Yes! Shay absolutely looked like Gilbert Blythe! And your young journal writing reminds me so much of L. M. Montgomery's "Anne" style of writing.
Have you written a book??
My husband and I went miniature golfing too. We've been together for over thirty-five years. All the best to you both.

Oh my gosh, someone that watched Anne of Green Gables and was also obsessed with Gilbert!!!!! ❤
It's not a matter of genre, it's a matter of soul, of deep essence. Love is that.
