    Great channel my man I appreciate the work you put into it. Like you, I’ve become obsessed with fig growing and now I must patiently wait for all the cuttings to come in and root. Cheers !

      My land finally had a settlement call :) Soon I will be able to relocate my bees and go into them properly without fear of them attacking the visitors to the health center! How is swarm going, building out comb nicely?

      Mate the rain is all good here, l live on a huge hill. We are getting temps into the 30s and all my plants and essential my figs are reacting to to sky and although my black maderia took a while to get going is growing great now. I did see you have temps in the 20s coming on Monday, so l would love to see your outdoor plants soon. Cheers greg

    Over 90% of my first year figs had the virus. By the second year it was almost entirely gone. Very healthy trees will out grow it. Soil biology is key for that to happen.

    • @jamesfrederick.
      @jamesfrederick. ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s not gone completely it’s been just reduced highly by the plants immune system potassium helps the plants immune system and the plants vigor which directly effects the immune system of the plant all increase with size

      @kicknadeadcat ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jamesfrederick. I use kelp on all my cuttings even starting out. Strengthens the root system. Fungally dominated soil is what I have found will give you healthy trees and vegetables. Everything I feed my veg garden is what I use on my trees and all of it I make myself. Except kelp.

    Sorry to hear you’ve been unwell. I was concerned that you weren’t going to continue with the countdown videos. Like watching series one on Netflix and then not having series two available to find out how the story ends 😱.
    Fabulous videos. I’m learning heaps about figs from them. Thanks 👌

    Wow you set yourself a massive task there Nathan, given the vast range of varieties of fig available and the undoubted duplication of some varieties with different names, meaning even people growing and eating them may not have the varieties they think they have. Makes it a minefield to arrive at a definitive top 40. At least 2 of my fig plants aren't the variety they were purchased as 😂😂

      Great work with the list. Must have taken a lot of time. What’s the criteria for the rankings placement? Brown Turkey shouldn’t be higher than De Tres Esplets, Thermalito, Calderona, Genovese Nero, and pretty much all of the items on the list, in terms of flavor profile.
