    That small ball bearing is a check valve to hold hydraulic pressure when the engine is off - if that check valve is bad the timing chain will rattle on startup until oil pressure loads up the tensioner again.

    When doing just valve clearance check...is it mandatory to check cam timing?

    U didn't put the engine in top dead center?

      There’s four cylinders on this engine, you didn’t specify which cylinder. Also, you don’t need to put anything at TDC on compression if you aren’t removing the cam journals and not turning the engine over. There’s enough tension on the left side of the chain.

    can i ask u something a dealer is selling a 2010 s1000rr used are they reliable ive heard bad reviews about the first gen 09-12 or 13 not sure

    My S1000R is making like a rattling noise and the BMW told me it is a timing chain tensioner.

      How much did they charge you to fix it?

      @@ncaap3575 I ended up replacing that part myself, it's pretty easy.
      Sometimes BMW will do it for free as a recall type of thing.

    Hi how are you I have a problem on my bike the bike do not give full power when I accelerate and it's like cutting off the power do any one have this problem with S1000rr 2016
