    I did not know about pressing Enter to change a note to its enharmonic equivalent. I have been manually rewriting them for years. THANK YOU!

      One of those things you don't know you need until you need it!

    Hey. Thank you so much. This is helpful. Do you also have an advice about lyrics? When I import midis into Sibelius all lyrics are gone (obv. it's midi, but maybe you have a tip)? Thank you!

      Glad it helped, even as old as this video is! I seem to remember Sibelius having the ability to import plain-text (or copied and pasted lyrics) and assigning it fairly well to the notes for each syllable (assuming that you've added slurs where necessary for melismas, I guess). But I haven't used Sibelius in so long I'm afraid. I've made the switch to MuseScore when Sibelius went to the subscription payment model.

    Hi. Very very good video. And well explained. Thanks. ..... I have just a question. I have a lot of files made on Sibelius 5 or Sibelius 5.1. but now I have a Sibelius ultimate amazing version. And I cant open them. Tell me please if there's a way maybe to open Sibelius 5 files on Sibelius ultimate. Thank you.

      I've never heard of that problem! Normally it's the other way around. If you still have Sibelius 5 then you could try to export each file as a musicXML, then import those into Sibelius ultimate.

    hello, great video. Where can i go download an mp3 to convert it to a midi file?

    • @mccoydtromb
      @mccoydtromb  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Converting MP3 or audio to MIDI is one of the "holy grails" of music, and a few companies are working on it. Nueratron makes a product called AudioScore: "Transcribe MP3s & CD Tracks with AudioScore" www.neuratron.com/audioscore.htm
      I've only ever tried the single line demo, with less than fantastic results.

    i got question..in my midi track i played lower notes..when i import it those notes are coming all the way down from treble clef to bass clef without displaying just as bass clef notes..how to fix it

    • @mccoydtromb
      @mccoydtromb  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes Sibelius doesn't know what instrument to assign. You could either click change instrument and choose a suitable bass instrument (add the change to the very beginning of the score), or just add a bass clef at the beginning of the part. Q is the shortcut for clefs. Sibelius will keep all of the notes at the correct pitch, but update the display of those notes.

    How for piano?

    • @mccoydtromb
      @mccoydtromb  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I understand you correctly, you want to arrange music for piano from a MIDI file. The import and cleanup process will be similar to what is shown here, after which you could copy and paste or use Sibelius's other arrange features (watch Tutorial No. 9 for the arrange function). Hope this helps.
