Thanks for the great video, and a huge thanks for not polluting it with crappy background music. I don't know why some people ruin a perfectly good video with annoying background music.
Yong Heng now have stock in the UK and I bought one (exactly the same as yours) for £160.00 and bought a separate water stripper for £20.00 that's 3 stage, cotton filter and a mix of carbon and anion balls, Yong Heng used to charge £140.00 to ship from China
@@airgunology 300 bar and on Ebay? your dicing with death if that tube can't take the pressure & explodes. fittings are different as they don't have any significant air capacity !
Hills hand pump all day long as long as you are reasonably fit. Got a BSA Scorpion and HW110. Only take about 3 or 4 minutes to fill each one from 100 bar. You can strip and maintain it yourself as well so they last for decades.
Great video and am very glad you mentioned the problems with the ebay/amazon pumps. I recently got one that was priced about the same as the yong heng, which appears to be a very good pump, and looked identical right up until it arrived. Frankly it was a death trap with none of the fittings sealing, burst discs that were random and joints that were faulty so needless to say it's gone back. 300bar, as you so rightly mention, is not to be messed about with.
@@airgunology Update .... got the deathtrap sent back and full refund, advantage of amazon, and the new Yong Heng arrived. The difference is incredible they are very well made and 4 large tanks later the oil hasn't even coloured in the slightest. To you subscribers if you are thinking of buying one go to one of the well tested brands and even then buy knowing there is an easy returns policy as there are knockoffs of knockoffs now !!!!
Ok going to try using nitrogen. Industrial tank is large and filled to 6000 lbs. With regulator to reduce to 3000 lbs. To fill smaller tank to 4500 or gun to 3000. Can be rented or purchsed.
Been using a pump for a while now but after buying a new rifle with a 500cc bottle I was completely knackered after filling it, bottle here I come. ;-)
I've bee shooting with co2 and looking to get into PCPs and wanted a good quick education and summary of my options. This did the trick very nicely. Thank you very much for this!
I got myself, as a Xmas present last year, a 12 ltr bottle. £5 a fill at GO DIVE Derby. Having used a pump at home and at Air Cadets, where I found that the cadets didn't have the bulk or strength for such, I just didn't wish to risk a heart seizure. Bottles a well worth the money but do shop around as you can save a few quid. GO DIVE Derby was best deal in my area.
So, and I have never seen an answer to this yet, if you don't fill it to max and say just fill it to 100 psi which is quicker and do-able with tyre pump/electric tyre pump how many shots would you get? Average? Would it be possible to just partially fill and get 10-20 shots if you're not doing much shooting but would like to be ready for rat-control?
Steve you should of mentioned don't fill your guns too fast, heat can burn the seals plus let it settle for a while the pressure will drop due to cooling then top up again before releasing the pressure . Also if you can afford lot's of guns get two tanks. Especially if filling to 250 bar. Use one to top up the guns to 200 bar & the other for the 50 bar top up . I already do this but airhunters have mention this after I thought of it. PS moral of the story hot air = a under filled pcp. Talking of hot air have them two had a fall out ?
Hi Steve the big question for me is after i have cleaned my barrel how many shots do you recommend to re lead it.. Great video again good advice..Dave..
It can vary from barrel to barrel, I've had some that take a couple to come back on and I've had barrels that take 90+ to come back on. Yes I said 90+, I've had a HW100 and Steyr lg110 that both would be highly inaccurate untill I put 90+ through but then were very accurate again. Going by what most people I know at clubs find, barrels usually come back on before 12 pellets, for my current HW100 barrelled Steyr I fire 3 shots to be sure but seems to be back on straight away. Only way to know is to shoot it after you clean it and see how many shots it take to come back on.
Great video, Steve. Put me off buying a pcp gun. I was a welder, and know a little bit about gas and oxygen cylinders. MOST inert gas cylinders are pressurized to about the same as the tanks, and the ones we used where steel and bloody thick. Springer for me, again, I think.
Not the only option. You can buy a compressor to fill or get a hand pump. Also you can get smaller 3l cylinders to reduce the size. They are very safe as long as tested.
Question I have Steve , how many different types of connections on different guns , I just bought one of those Gamo Phox guns , like to no if the filling probe is the same as the bsa r10 ? , instead of one or two types of connectors, is there quite a few on different gun S , usually in life the a normally no standards so guessing this won’t be anything different, also not gend up on types of fittings on the compression line , where’s the best sites in the uk 🇬🇧 to buy fittings from ? Many thanks Shane
They all can be different from different makers. Some use push probs, some use foster quick fits and the old AA's use a special type. Just make sure you get the probe with any rifle you buy. If you have many rifles, search and buy fosters quick adapters, it makes life a lot easier.
You never mentioned the fact that these cheap hand pumps without moisture traps , putting moisture into your gun, Super soaker time. L o l cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧

Hi there how can you check how much air you have left in your tank bottle
Use a blanking plate / socket instead of your whip and read the gauge on the bottle.
