Rich old ladies should not be allowed in policy debates about drug legalization. They don't live in the real world, nor have any daily interactions with the people they force their beliefs/policy on.
Broadly speaking:: Democracy implies all layers of the population be included (or rather, represented) in it. However much i sometimes disagree or have immense contempt for some opinions and the people trying to impose them , i would want the ones who hold them to respect mine and at last try to view it as broadly as possible. In the end we all get our one vote . Who says that poor young people by definition have better beliefs than rich old people? Age and income aren't the only or the most accurate predictors of virtue, and a rich old lady might genuinely care and still be wrong, it's not necessarily an evil act of pushing your agenda onto the populace. However: in the US, the rich can (and increasingly do) actually buy policy customized to their specific needs , desires and even selfish whims, which is hugely undemocratic, so i totally get it too why you'd want to see them excluded from such debates. But as a general rule, no.
She really doesn't think anyone has ever been distracted by looking in a fast food bag or eating, drinking, or spilling in the car? What about people who drive and suddenly go into a diabetic coma? Or blood sugar spike or drop. I live here in America we pay for the diabetes later in life for these people, not to mention what their body goes through. The gang and border violence and incarceration rates only cause more death. Wish i thought it was strange we haven't moved anywhere in 20 some years.
The sections of town Gene is talking about, where everything is legal and you can do what you want, is called your home. We already have those places, yet we are still told that we cannot do what we want there.
They totally missed the boat on this episode. I can't believe they are comparing McDonalds to Drugs...Pick your Poison mentality. How about under the influence rules. Serve and Protect people from those that are under the influence of substances that alter their decisions. French Fries such a distraction. What a silly show this was.

that's a lie. I know for a fact thousands have died in auto "accidents" because some drivers were high on burgers. I've seen the result of bk nuggets on women in single auto wreck, she couldn't handle them nuggets while turning and flipped here minivan up side down
