@@Siloguy Yeah, she has been working on a serve for almost a year now, as it was the worst part of her game. It shows that if she WANTS something to be better it WILL be. And if not this year, next year Wimbledon is hers, and if she wins this year, the Australian Open is just a formality.
Great serve, 6 aces and almost 50% of unreturned serves. Significant improvement compared to their last clash at Australian Open. I think that Iga has reassured many fans who were wondering how she would perform after a three-week break without playing a grass-court tournament and playing against such an unpredictable opponent who managed to eliminate Gauff in the first round last year

Swiatek's serve had improved a lot. Her movement is the best of the WTA. It's going to take someone who can consistently overpower her to take her out. Only a few players can do that but not necessarily consistently, so looks like Swiatek is going to bag this Wimbledon.
She needs to beware of Noskova.
As I remember, Noskova is in the second half of the draw, so they can play in the final, I think she has to be aware of players like Kerber, Garcia, Ostapenko, Collins, Rybakina

@x-es3te If Rybakina can consistently outserve and outpower Swiatek, she can win, but Rybakina tends to be up and down during the match. If the down stretch is a bit too extended, she'd lose.

Iga seemed confident this time around, more confident than she was at the Australian Open. It's not surprising because I think that is what she does. 2 things. First, The sound coming off the racket of Iga and Sofia are so different! Secondly, I really wish Kenin would fire her dad as coach and get her someone who is going to really help her get back into form.

so why do the Ladies get equal pay but only play best outta 3 instead of 5 at the GS's? doesn't seem right. I mean Courtney Dauwalter is consistently in the top 10, even 5, of the Overall in ultramarathon racing...The Olympics have the Women race 50k just like the Men...they don't make a fraction of the $ these pro tennis players make, but what? they can't play another game or two to earn their incredible paychecks? just wondering.
On my example: I love Hubi, but I can't afford 3-4 hours of my schedule to watch his epic 5-setters on slams. With Iga it's usually up to an hour and a half ;) So I watch more women's tennis on GS tournaments and I would prefer men playing best of 3 aswell.
But being serious - I believe it's because in the past women usually played slower and longer rallies, men on the other hand played a lot of fast serve-and-volley tennis, so their matches were shorter. Now, as womens tennis progresses the difference is not that obvious so I believe there will be some changest in the future. Maybe best of five but played in the Next-Gen-like format would be a good idea - for both men and women.
