Not only complicated, but if it fails for whatever reason, there is no live person help available. The chatbot that is provided is almost totally worthless--unless your problem exactly fits one of the few choices presented. No text box to allow you to precisely describe problem.

I like that they still have a Linux executable.
I know there's been talk about the company restructuring issues , but I think
for most home end users they don't care much as long as the product is still
good .

they actually simplified the process (slightly). yes you still have to sign up for an account but when you go back and put in your login information, it will direct you straight to the download page. I f you are downloading for personal use it will no longer bring up the license number page either.

Downloading VMware Workstation Pro feels like embarking on an epic quest in a video game. Seriously, when free software for personal use needs a full TH-cam video tutorial, you know something's off. Windows Hyper-V works just fine for me. No thanks, VMware. And I bet they'll bombard you with deals and promos to upgrade with tons of ads.
Watching this video, even though the host tries to be serious, it's almost a joke how many clicks and hoops you have to jump through to download the software. Sometimes, even big corporations show us how not to do things. This video is a blueprint for how not to set up a download link.

I think the corporate world is mostly mad that home end users

Also that just makes you ask questions like ,
If that's so , would corporate companies feel slighted and just
choose to run the software as a home end user even though there
