I haven't watched "you need these tools' vid for years. I got sick of seeing the same short list of sponsored and often crappy products. I was surprised after clicking on this out of boredom, to see a list of genuinely useful things. Thanks.

I've been using Everything for quite a while now and it finally gives me what I have needed for years. There is a newer version that is not released yet (alpha? beta?) that also has the ability to search within files. You can also put the file type selection as a drop-down at the right of the search box. I love this tool!!!

I began dual-booting out of lack of confidence. Now, I am debating just taking Windows off the machine altogether. The bloatware that waste system resources and Copilot (which reinstalls no matter what I do) with every update makes me think Microsoft uses more of my machine than I do.

Can you tell me what is db.crypt14 file? Shopwn as AM download while I was sleeping. Suddenly i have quite a few of these.
Every file now has a double headed arrow on all files. Won't open any unless I go to the app store. I'm afraid. I've never seen any files like these.

It is worth mentioning that some antivirus/security software identify password revealing tools as "hacktools" and automatically delete/quarantine them. This is usual, for example, in corporate laptops where you are not free to manage the antivirus exceptions yourself.

I've had it longer than that, I think. I was thinking I ran it back when I lived in Ohio, 23 years ago, but it must have been here, because I certainly wasn't running NTFS back then. I think I was running a portable version too, which may have been prelicensed. :/ It's only been in the past few years that I've actually run it as an installed program.

Had no idea it was a paid app initially. Huh. I'm surprised MS hasn't bought them out and integrated it into Windows.

memtest86 is a great program to test memory. Install just one stick and test each stick at a time. Memory is quite cheap now - did you buy no brand memory?
