    really interested to see how this performs with the scx24 electronics and a proper set of tires. i don't like to spend a ton of money upgrading these little guys but this thing is worth the price tag, the hard body alone is a selling point. i wonder if you can just use the stock esc and a tiny battery for the lights and use another esc and battery to run the truck.

    • @UpperLeftRC
      @UpperLeftRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it’s a pretty cool starting point for the price, I’m sure you could use the stock ESC for the lights but the blinkers won’t work and it will run the hazard lights blinking unless you unplug them 🤙🏻

    Mine came in yesterday. The bouncing in the front is the driveline not the Y link. Minor trimming and a AS1 servo will fit.

    I'm most curious about how to solve the issue of mounting another servo. I'm sure there's several ways to do it but I'd like to see a really clean solution. Then I'll probably pick one up. Thanks for the very thorough video.

    • @UpperLeftRC
      @UpperLeftRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you liked the video and as far as a servo goes I think your best solution would be to swap in a normal micro servo and cut/mod the shock tower and bumper mounting points, using the stock servo cradle thing just doesn’t seem like the way to go 👍🏻

    I said this before but I feel like this is just a 1/24th scale Kyosho mini z really. The hard body looks pretty neat and for the price it's kind of hard to not justify getting on to mess around with until you get ready to get an axial.

      The Scx24 is a cheap piece of shit until you fix it up so if we are just going to completely replace everything why not start off with a cheaper better looking set up. I have a scx24 that we have completely rebuilt it just now feeling like a solid little rig.

    I would consider purchasing one at a cheaper price...if they didn't include the electronics since it looks like thats the 1st thing to replace.
    It appears to me by the time you upgrade it, you might as well purchase the Axial.

    • @UpperLeftRC
      @UpperLeftRC  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah that’s pretty much the consensus across the board, the only upside to buying this and upgrading it is that you have a hardbody 1/24 with upgrades for the same price as an scx24. But if that’s not what someone is looking for then I would always recommend an axial over a cheap knock off

    How about this truck for a 6 year old. My little brother has really enjoyed watching some of the rc’s that I have and he told me he wants a small crawler. I don’t wanna get something real expensive for him because like I said he’s only 6 so when I found this I though it would maybe be perfect for him.

    • @UpperLeftRC
      @UpperLeftRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      For a kid around that age I think this would be great, you save a good chunk of money going with this RC 👍🏻 it’s has its drawbacks if you are trying to legit rock crawl and stuff but if he just wants to drive over stuff and bash it into things it will work great for a first time RC crawler :)
