@@hillarie_hillviewpaint thank you so, so much I appreciate it. The course is bigger now I have added some sections. I have a short video of it. But I’ll make another like this one with the full course. What I like about the course is that the way I made it I can interchange the sections to have different configurations or I make just put together less parts and make a shorter course.
This is the best diy crawler track I’ve seen. Well done, I’ve been thinking about using expanded foam too but the cost put me off you have now got me thinking about it again. 😊
Thank you so much my friend, if you use cardboard boxes, or any styrofoam underneath that way you don’t use as much. Just have to form the cardboard a little in the shape or form of whatever obstacle you want to make . Any questions feel free to ask.
@@acrccrawlers9548I'm assuming you used construction adhesive to keep most of the rocks in place, right? Planning on building one, I just have to design a layout so I have something to aim for
@BradenGemmill for the real Little Rock’s that I put on it I used gorilla glue that foaming one is a little messing but is very strong perfect for this type of project. Pretty much can glue anything with it.
@@acrccrawlers9548 Okay cool, I'll try that. Your course is awesome! Definitely gained a new subscriber! I am currently building a small outdoor crawler course with only what I can find, so we'll see how that one turns out
@@Gateway_RC thanks for subscribing, I just subbed to you. I’m sure it will turn out great the beauty of this is that the more imperfect it is the better. lol I just used cardboard boxes and styrofoam also. I just finished building one for the veterans. There and RC channel Operarion 11 Charlie they introduce vets to the hobby in order to help them cope with PTSD and depression so I just built one for them I will be posting a video soon of it.
@@tjohanne thanks I appreciated my friend,‘I haven’t posted videos for a while due to some health issues but working on getting better to get back into making more videos. 👍👍
Thank you so much I really appreciate I have to get back into it and shot some more videos on it after I completed I haven’t been able to enjoy it, too freaking busy. Subbed to you as well
Thank you I appreciate it I have added a couple of sections to it, I just haven’t made a video of it I’m currently out state so when I return home I’ll be making a video with my SCX24 bronco.
Very nice course. I'm in the works of building one myself and have been searching the internet for inspiration. Plenty in this video. At 4 minutes and 50 seconds how did you get that rounded rock texture? And then just up the hill from that those shale looking rock texture? I would like those two textures in my course and really curious what you use to make them? Thank you for your time once again nice layout.
Thanks a lot my friend I really appreciate it. On that area those rocks are just styrofoam the thick ones that come with some appliances or electronics I just cut them in small pieces in the shape of rocks glued them and covered them with plaster cloth. Above that is also styrofoam but in that area I used some insulation foam I got from lowes. It comes in sheets of like 4 feet by 16 inches and 1/2” thick and I believe is a pack of ten for like 10 or $11. The rest of the course is primarily made out of boxes covered with spray foam. In some small sections I used real rocks. Please let me know if you have any other questions I will be more than happy to answer and help you. 👍👍
@@acrccrawlers9548 thank you for the information. I can't tell you how many videos I've watched trying to find a way to make it look like a real Rock texture and you nailed it with that section. I will try your method. I'm assuming you used a Styrofoam cutter hot knife. I think they have those at the Hobby Craft stores. I'm going to go get one and give it a shot hopefully I can do as good of a job as you did.
@@cmkpikes is not that hard I have never done it before but it came out really good. Just have to work the plaster cloth one at a time when you cover them. Just cut the styrofoam in shape of a rock as much as you can, try not to cut them the same shape or size to make them more realistic. Anyways any questions just send me a message.
I have looked at many, many, videos of builds. Yours is by far the best modular track. I am inspired to build one myself! Well done!
Wow, thanks, I really appreciate the comment and support. 👍👍👍
Agree! I've been building a large indoor course for a customer and watched many videos of other builds and this one is so far the best I've seen.

How long did this take to build? Was thinking of building one for me and my boys, but i'm also scared they will destroy it the first day.
It took me a couple of weeks, is very sturdy I don’t think they will destroy unless they try to walk on it. 👍👍👍
