I thought I'd add this Windows slideshow of some photos I took in Kentucky in 1989. Three Chimneys is in Midway, in the heart of horse country. Of course, since it was August, there was lots of humidity, which made everything dark. I went light on exposure so the horses' features would be more clear. These five horses made up the stallion roster at the time (Nodouble, however, was retired and died the following year). The horses were Seattle Slew, his son Slew O' Gold, Shahrastani, Chief's Crown, and the aforementioned Nodouble, who was in his stall and wasn't brought out because of his age). The music is probably copyrighted, for the pictures are solely mine.

I remember Seattle Slew. I think my Dad went to the derby that year.

He was quite a horse. He was as big as Secretariat, but he had a blockier build. His son, Slew O' Gold, was HUGE, almost as tall as Forego was. A few years later, Slew went to Hill 'n' Dale farm, where he spent the rest of his life. He is buried there.
