Pro tip: you don't even have to rare candy your catch in order to determine it's exact IVs. If you're only generating ~100,000 advances, just searching for the nature and initial IV guesses will get you the exact frame you landed on
I just gotta say thank you so much for all these guides. Currently started from a manip shiny starter file and already got latios and rayquaza shiny now too. Going to be going for many ribbon masters as well from this after all the hunting, so thank you for letting me accomplish my childhood dream so much easier :D
I really appreciate the guide and your explanation, it took me some time to get the timing right. For people who are stuck callibrating the eon timer just try to hit a without any callibration and keep track of frame you are landing on. Then once you are consistenly landing on very near frames 2 or 3 times in a row then start your real attempts by callibration the eon timer... the reason is emerald runs at 60 fps so hitting the correct frame needs you to hit the right frame at 1/60th of second so its hard to hit same frame consistenly and needs some practice. Another tip after few callibration if you are hitting frame with single frame (1-4) difference just re attempt with same callibration. I get the desired mon in 10-30mins. Thanks blissy
In addition to being able to change your SID, sleipnir also has a code to read the SID of the pokemon in box 9 slot 27, so you could put one of your mons there and run the code to read it out.
Again man! Fantastic work. Although I don't know If I would try this myself, I still absolutely love watching these tutorials. Seeing methods and ways you manipulate the RNG are so interesting and super clever by the way. Always love to see you in my subscription box dude. Keep up the great work!
Decided I wanted to try this and your video was the first to come up. Very helpful and easy to follow! Happy to say that after 2 hours and some tinkering to find my secret ID, I got a shiny Rayquaza!! Not quite the 3 attempts like you but it was still such an awesome feeling when I finally got it!
Man.. the first shiny rayquazas start at 29405 advances (~8min) for me, lets hope i will hit it fast lol. Edit: Ok I gave up after 1,5hrs and tried again today, the first two tries were 3 frames before and after the shiny, 2-3 tries later I finally had it! Thank you so much man, finally I can use your guides instead of just watching them lmao
Great guide, worked for me in around 4 - 5 tries. I failed to catch it but then got it again in another 4 - 5 tries. Just something I figured out while doing it is that you can save on rare candies and thus time. When you calculate your IV's and search for them, just search for the range that the calculation gives you right off the bat. If you're searching for a high level legned like Rayquaza there aren't going to be too many possible matches. The whole time I did it and searched with the range I only ever got 1 results. Thanks for the guide! So much easier than when I tried it back in Gen 5!
Hey could you give me a little hand in doing this? I have tried it before but I can never get a match on the natures, tried for 4 hours straight yesterday and couldn’t get it to work once
Thanks for putting all these guides up. I lost my childhood Emerald cart and I'm preparing for a completion run as I finally save up for a new game, tricks like this will give me a lot more mileage out of it. Hope I can get a shiny starter!

Just got my shiny ray on an og jpn cart, couldn’t be happier, it’s honestly my first legit shiny in gen 3 and I put almost 500 hours into leaf green as a kid, thank you so much man!! Subscribed for sure haha, started yesterday probably took me about 15 tries waiting 9 minutes each
after years of trying to get a shiny in the main line pokemon series I finally caught my first one with your help! Caught a shiny regirock! It took me about an hour and 6 attempts. Thank you for making this video it was extremely helpful.
"100,000 is an unreasonable wait time for any human" 😅 Im definitely dedicated. I recently started Shiny RNG'ing my old Emerald game. I found the EON timer online, so I'd hang out with my friends or be in the office at work as I'd do my 1 attempt every 30+ minutes. Just knowing that Shiny with a good nature is within reach is all I need to drive me
So, kyogre and groudon encounters in emerald are static. However, they get triggered when you walk on a specific tile instead of interacting with it. Does the frame have to be hit when you walk on the tile or when the encounter starts?
I just tried with kyogre many times and I rly don't know when to do it because if I do it before the last tile, it's almost at more than 300 frames after the shiny frame
This has probably been asked before, but does using Synchronize to try to get a good nature impact the shiny frames? Is it recommended that I not do that? Oh, also: does this work with any language game? I have Japanese copies of each Gen 1-5 game and was wondering if this can work on those. Edit: 3 hours of on and off trying, Shiny Latios.
This is an old video but seems to have active commenters still so maybe I'll find help here. The two mentioned tools, PokeFinder and Eon Timer. Wet I downloaded them to my computer (Mac) it won't allow me to open the files as it gives an error that the file's origins are unknown and thus cannot be opened. Are there any Mac users that could help me with this? In addition, the way there are two different files for Pokefinder to download is a bit confusing, so I might need some help to get the apps working if any additional softwares are required to open the files, or for example if the two Pokefinder files need to be combined somehow or something like that. Thanks in advance!
It really worked for me for the Fossil Anorith and also your Tutorial for wild Pokemon, both are really awesome. However, I wanted to know if you have any advice on how to do the rng for the Emerald Castform? doesn't makes sense for me because after the team aqua fight they give it to you immediately. Of course I saved before the battle but I would love to know if there's a way to do it. Thanks in advance
Wanted to say thanks for all the guides,I got into RNG manips last year because the videos are alot easier to follow than text huides. Will you ever make a guide for blink in Colo? It was the one method I could never really get a solid grasp on,I just gave up on Suicune because I couldn't figure out how to align the blinks and beeps properly lol.
Big fan of your content! I was wondering if an XD Greevil RNG video is in the works? Baton Pass Zapdos and Wisp Moltres would be great to RNG abuse, but I'm struggling to find any tutorials on it.
So in the days since I posted this, I've used this method for at least 3 hour periods to no result. Then I thought to myself 'well, if it's locked on a frame, why don't I just use the frame, use the delay of 95 frames for Rayquaza, and just hit that frame on reset over and over again.' I got my shiny black dragon tonight. Thank you blisy for giving me a start, love your vids, glad this works for the many others who got their shiny on below 5-10 tries day 1. Keep it up!
I have a question on altering flags, i already caught all the legends normally, and have been resetting the flags to catch the shinys with this RNG, but i cant seem to get rayquaza to rebattle me on top of sky pillar, its like theres an invisible wall in front of him
So do you do this by plugging in your game boy to the computer ? Or do you only download the programs on your computer and just Use the timer to know when to reset your game and click the encounter ?
Thanks so much bro! One question: What is your TID? I mean if I wanted to erase my current Emerald save file (from cartridge), could I use the same method from R/S? checking the last four digits of one PID of Method 1 Pokémon? Do you have a guide about how to RNG TID/SID on Emerald?
Hi mate, just wanna say that I really appreciate your videos. I know this it's gonna be a comment on a old video, but just to clarify... I could catch my shiny Treecko with your guide, but now that it's coming to catch a Keckleon (the one that Steven helps you to get with the Devonscope) it seems that I'm doing something wrong... By any chance, once that you get your TID and STID, are all the shinies going to have the same nature IV's ecc..?? Gonna try to explain myself better. So I had my first shiny at 144 frame which it's impossible to get obviously, whereas the second one it's on 2788 (the one that I used to get Treecko). Would be possible for me to use the 2788 advance in order to get Keckleon as well? Hope you can see this. Thank you
@@imablisy Thanl you for your replay... So I believe that I'm doing something wrong tho... I could get Treecko in like few attempts, but with Keckleon I've been trying for days now.. I remember, when I was a kid and went to take rayquaza, it was a black one, I thought its a glitch amd restarted the game... But last year, I discovered that there were shiny pokemon in smerald too...
Oh man, I cant wait to try for a shiny beldum If I play on emulator do I still need to set the timer to GBA? Is there no significant input lag due to the emulation?
since your pumping out these gen 3 videos I would like to see one on getting a 6IV shiney Battle Tower mon using the lati glitch, I would be supper intrigued to see if there is a way to get the nature you want since from all I've seen it's random but I'm wondering if that could be RNGd
Do you have any tips for shiny hunting Castform in Emerald? It's a little weird because the mon is gifted to you immediately after winning a battle. I've been using your guides to do a shiny-only run on my old Emerald cart, and it's been a blast. Super helpful content, and really clearly explained. I don't want to let shiny Castform get away! Thanks for any help!
Im doing the exact same thing and came here looking to see if anyone knew a good way to shiny hunt the castform as well! Did you manage to find a good way other than trial and error?
hey, is it true if I used this to say catch a shiny mew in emerald or latios / latias they are one per cartridge? so even if I wipe and completely restart my game (using the UP, B, SELECT way to erase save) I won't be able to encounter those pokemon again on a new playthrough?
I changed my SID successfully with ACE (couldn't nickname my old pokemons anymore), hit the correct shiny frame on my new SID/PID combination, but no shiny. Every other characteric was correct, the Ivs, nature, but no shiny. I assume it must be because the SID is incorrect, but I'm confused as to what went wrong since I followed sleipnir's instructions to a t. Is there another reason than the SID not being correct for the shiny frame not being shiny ?
Just started doing this today, and man, getting that timing down isn't as easy as I thought it would be. I'm hunting Deoxys, have everything calibrated, and have been at it for 6 hours. Is that normal for someone's first time? Or is there a delay for Deoxys specifically that I'm unaware of? It'd be very reassuring if you can find the time to respond. Great video btw.
I started with trying to get my hands on the hoenn starters and it took me months to get my first one using these methods but once I got the hang of it I ended up getting multiple pretty fast.
May be too late now but that probably means you don’t have the right Secret ID you’ll probably have to move on to the next one on the list and check. If that one isn’t shiny then repeat the process of checking
My earliest shiny frame for static encounters is 30,000. Is there any way to change the seed to get better times or do I just have to deal with the wait?
I have a question, I managed to get a shiny Treecko with this method. But if I swtich from Treecko to Rayquaza, it keeps giving me the same shiny frame for Rayquaza with the same stats and the same IV spread. Is that correct? Or am I doing something wrong here? My Treecko shiny frame was at 3216, Calm nature etc, and when I look up the shiny frames for ALL static encounters like Rayquaza, they are all at the same frames (3216 with calm nature etc.)
It's because there's a bug in Emerald where the seed is always going to be 0, so every stationary pokemon you interact with on that frame is gonna be shiny. I did the same for both Rayquaza and Lugia and they both shined for me at 2641. Not too sure about the nature though
Hi! Firstly thank you for the guide! I managed to get a shiny groudon on my third try🔥 I have a question: once I catch a shiny in one of the generated shiny frames, that frame becomes no longer available for other pokemons? I have been trying the same frame for kyogre but seems it's not working
How to do rng Manip more accurately on Emulator? My first attempt was way off, a few thousand advances away from the target frame.I am doing it on VBA, Latias, Southern island. After updating the frame hit, the calibration went into -6899, and the best I managed to narrow down to 4226, 10 frames away from the target frame of 4126. Have been trying this for an hour already. Not sure what is wrong. Upon the 5sec timer I hit Cntrl R to soft reset, and upon the second timer,I press A and watch Latias float down.
Tried it again the next day, I decided to try it on Rayquaza instead, targeting 576 frame, tried it for 30mins. I managed to hit 580 frame twice, and in the next 10 tries, I finally hit frame 576 frame and gotten a modest shiny Rayquaza. There is something peculiar about Latias and Kyogre. Trying to hit 576 frame on them seems impossible. I am always hitting frame 800+ , and updating the frame hit, the timer will run out of time before I can even get back into the game. Does the walking animation of the pokemon affect the timing as well?
Why do you figure out all of the values and ID of the Pokemon you don’t want to catch? This is a great tutorial. There’s just something I’m clearly not understanding.
pls blisy if you could reply it would be amazing!! - I hatched a shiny bagon yesterday in emerald and have never found a wild shiny, can i obtain my SID using the hatched shiny bagon? thank you
Hey did something a little wild; I waited 181360 frames/ advances for a shiny regirock that was supposed to be a square shiny. After about 5 attemps or just under 5 hours, and 2 times where I knew I hit the frames perfectly, I checked the mon and was suprisded to see that I had hit the frame 181360... only the shiny I was expecting to see... was not a shiny at all. What did I do wrong?
Will the method change if I’m playing emerald on a modded 3ds? I installed it as a CIA file and the 3ds thinks it’s a virtual console title if that helps. Thank you!!
Thank you for this guide. It was actually a LOT more difficult to pull this off. Because i'm playing a romhack with fakemon, i couldn't use the IV calculator. And my ID combination made it so the first shiny frame was after 3 and a half minutes. Got a shiny Fossil on my 4th attempt!
I did it! Because of your great tutorial I managed to get a shiny Rayquaza🎉🎉🎉🎉 tysm!!! Can you plz make a updated video how to rng manipulating FRLG starters? I really want Charmander shiny😊
So to clarify: TID and SID are important only when it comes to shiny hunting? Or do I need a TID regardless of what I'm looking for? Because I'm not looking for a shiny, I'm looking for something with specific IVs and want to make sure I'm not resetting the file for no reason and for some reason PokeFinder won't let me create a profile for my game :///
What if I try this on a gba emulator on my computer? What do I choose on the timer tab? Edit: I managed to do it for Lugia but when I try to do it for Ho-oh the software won't give me anything to add on frame hit, after I have found the IVs. I made sure I changed the pokemon's name on the calculator and I'm using the right game and nature. Any thoughts? Edit2: I tried a couple days later and it worked perfectly, I just need to improve my timing now, in order to get that Ho-oh.
You've really improved your guides. Seriously, this is *so* succinct by comparison and demonstrates the method perfectly. I appreciate it.

I dont have a computer, are there any rng tools you could use on your phone for the same results?
So every shiny Pokémon for the rest of the game after you get your shiny starter is going to have the same hidden nature, frame, nature, and IVs?
Oh man, I cant wait to try for a shiny beldum
If I play on emulator do I still need to set the timer to GBA? Is there no significant input lag due to the emulation?
I love how none of the Eon timer works lol.
Hi, I'm having trouble seeing the milliseconds on my Eon timer. I can see the seconds count down, but the milliseconds seem to be cut off
Have you done Lottery Corner RNG before? I had successfully done it today on retail Emerald since I used my only master ball without duplicating
Did you make a video on how to clone rare candies and master balls?
Hey! I know my SID and I'm hyped to try this. Just want to clarify, does it matter if my battery is dry? Cus mine is. Can i still do this?
Battery being dry does not matter, my cartridge’s battery is dry and I was able to rng manip a shiny just fine
@@spoonzone Figured as much, just got a shiny Ho-oh using this method so yay! Guess the battery only matters for Ruby/Sapphire.
since your pumping out these gen 3 videos I would like to see one on getting a 6IV shiney Battle Tower mon using the lati glitch, I would be supper intrigued to see if there is a way to get the nature you want since from all I've seen it's random but I'm wondering if that could be RNGd
No promises but I’ll look into it!
@@imablisy sweet, loving the content dude
Do you have any tips for shiny hunting Castform in Emerald? It's a little weird because the mon is gifted to you immediately after winning a battle. I've been using your guides to do a shiny-only run on my old Emerald cart, and it's been a blast. Super helpful content, and really clearly explained. I don't want to let shiny Castform get away! Thanks for any help!
Im doing the exact same thing and came here looking to see if anyone knew a good way to shiny hunt the castform as well! Did you manage to find a good way other than trial and error?
I'm also here for the same info so if one of you got the answer would be greatly appreciated guyst@routed9688 and @kelkar5824
hey, is it true if I used this to say catch a shiny mew in emerald or latios / latias they are one per cartridge? so even if I wipe and completely restart my game (using the UP, B, SELECT way to erase save) I won't be able to encounter those pokemon again on a new playthrough?
hi, are you playing emerald on gba or emulator?
I randomly found Mewtwo on fire red trying to catch a modest or timid one and the shiny happened first
I changed my SID successfully with ACE (couldn't nickname my old pokemons anymore), hit the correct shiny frame on my new SID/PID combination, but no shiny.
(Hi Blisy I am unable to hit the correct frame every time it misses)!
Worked!!! got shiny rayquaza in 4 tries !!!
Somebody can explain me why even if I hit the shiny frame my Rayquaza isnt shiny?
May be too late now but that probably means you don’t have the right Secret ID you’ll probably have to move on to the next one on the list and check. If that one isn’t shiny then repeat the process of checking
My earliest shiny frame for static encounters is 30,000. Is there any way to change the seed to get better times or do I just have to deal with the wait?
Ace
I managed to get a shiny groudon on my third try🔥
I have a question: once I catch a shiny in one of the generated shiny frames, that frame becomes no longer available for other pokemons?
I have been trying the same frame for kyogre but seems it's not working
It will work just fine repeatedly
so all the static encounters i find will have the same nature if i go for the same advances?
To see how many frames off you were and add the adjustment to EonTimer
pls blisy if you could reply it would be amazing!! - I hatched a shiny bagon yesterday in emerald and have never found a wild shiny, can i obtain my SID using the hatched shiny bagon? thank you
Yes you should be able to
No, not with hatched
Dang 🥺
Kinda excited to do some shiny legendary hunting
Good luck!
My dad came into my room since of the beeping sound 💀
Hey did something a little wild; I waited 181360 frames/ advances for a shiny regirock that was supposed to be a square shiny. After about 5 attemps or just under 5 hours, and 2 times where I knew I hit the frames perfectly, I checked the mon and was suprisded to see that I had hit the frame 181360... only the shiny I was expecting to see... was not a shiny at all. What did I do wrong?
This happens if your SID is wrong! I would double check you have your SID nailed down
does this work for ruby with dead battery
So is our shiny frame going to be the same for all static encounters? If so our shinies are gonna be the same ivs and natures?
yeah I mean your shiny frame can't change, but you can get different frames by waiting longer / using seed change methods.
@@imablisy Thanks so much!!! I Literally Just Got My Shiny Mew!!
I'm working on Deoxys now 🙂
I can't thank you and Papa Jefe enough!!
@@imablisy so if the earliest shiny frame is over ten thousand frames then I’m just out of luck? Is there any way to advance frames?
When I generate the frames I just have a bunch of natures and not everyone, do you know why? Does it change for every sid?
Will the method change if I’m playing emerald on a modded 3ds? I installed it as a CIA file and the 3ds thinks it’s a virtual console title if that helps. Thank you!!
When doing this for deoxys, do I have to solve the mini game puzzle before? Because the moment you encounter deoxys ist after the puzzle 😄
My earliest is 4 seconds (not possible to soft reset in time) and then 11 minutes after sot reset lmao pain
hi blissy just a quick question how would you go about rng for the roming lati?
I have videos on this.
@@imablisy can you link please
@@masteralienstar magical place called search box
So to clarify: TID and SID are important only when it comes to shiny hunting? Or do I need a TID regardless of what I'm looking for? Because I'm not looking for a shiny, I'm looking for something with specific IVs and want to make sure I'm not resetting the file for no reason and for some reason PokeFinder won't let me create a profile for my game :///
Just for shiny
@@imablisy It took a week but it WORKED!!!!! Thank you!!!
