Nice find ! My Pa bought one new in the late 70s. I loved that tractor. He did 4 row farming with it here in south Ga for many years. It was a good looking unit and performed well. They have both been long gone now. The video brought back good memories. Thanks!
I just bought one a few a few weeks ago. Open station as well. Just Curious if you don't mind me asking what did you pay for yours? I'm in NC and I paid 7,500. Mine is in about the same condition as yours. I'm glad you are making videos of it I do not see much on these tractors. I've not seen another one in my area as I have been looking for a parts tractor as well for possible future needs. Thanks
I had a1085 back when I farmed I loved that tractor would love to have found one again. We had every tractor you talked about. 180 1080 1100 1105 1085 and 275 2705 and a3650 my last tractor we had. But this one and the180 were my favorite
Great tractor!!! I was in 8th grade when my neighbor, who farmed my grandmothers farm, bought a new 1100 and 1080, so I was able to spend many a day and hours helping him farm for many years with these two big tractors, at least back then they were. The only thing I did not like was the Multi-power, when it was in low, it free-wheeled down grades like a race car, you really had to be careful!!! There was no cab tractors around then, not until he bought a nice, used Steiger Cougar, in the around 1983 or 85, and was a dream come true to operate, so much better than a large two wheeled tractor in getting in tight areas too! But the 1100 was my all -time favorite to operate. It was a bugger to start in the winter though, we often had to blast the engine with our shop heater for 30 minutes to warm up the block!!
@@tmonteIH I remember the 1100 could walk away with a 5 bottom plow in our nice loamy soil back then, but when you were used to a JD 70D with a 3 bottom, we thought we hit the lottery!!! I have been searching for a nice toy replica as well for a long time!!
@@tmonteIH Now I have to disagree, I grew up on a hand clutch!!!!! Nothing runs like a Deere, or smells like a John!!! You need a nice 730 with pony motor, you will never geta another Red tractor!!! Better yet, find me one!!! I will convert you!!! But I do love the older MF's!!!
@@tmonteIH we had a 285 non turbo our neighbor bought a 1085 it had a factory turbo the two tractors were bought at the same dealership new i wanted the 1085 glad we got the 285 never any head problems the neighbor must have put 5 heads on that 1085
@@tmonteIH There are alot of these years in Upstate NY, probably in PA as well, I keep looking for a nice MF 12 or 14 garden tractor with this styling, they just look so nice
Awesome, we have one here in Ghana, and we need to get parts for it. What will you recommend?

Glad to have stirred some memories
We had one. Bought it new, never had an issue. Worked the hell out of it
It seems really solid.
A few neighbors have Masseys and really like them. I worked on a smaller one for a friend. Nice to work on
He said it was easy on fuel, too.
Perkins inline motors are incredibly efficient.
Man, I need a 1085 and an 1135 for my 5 series collection! Just lost an auction on a cab 8 speed 1085. Good find!
8 speed 1085 would be a great choring rig. I love that 1155 you’ve got with pipes. Would love to see hit parked next to my 1468 V8.
You guys up there are lucky in having so many choices in gear as it’s under most trees
Trees?
Glad you got it home! Zim A Na Check is how you say the dealer’s name.
Now I just need to get back for the rest. Thanks again.
MF 1085 tractor is a nice find, plus a parts tractor too. Bonus.
For sure.
Good looking Massey!
Sure is!
Nice tractor. That series is a good one. I have an 1135 myself.
With a cab?

We’ve had a few 180s over the years. Great tractors.
My father had a 1085 Massey in the 1970s in upstate New York it was a good tractor
Seems like that would’ve been a good fit for smaller farms.
@@tmonteIH yes 50 cows 120 acres
Great find , she’s a runner 👍 .nice cab .
Thanks 👍
I have put a few hours on a 1080 very good tracker Massey makes good product
Massey doesn’t get enough credit.
It’s a Good tractor ! Great for small midsize farms
I can definitely believe that.
Nice scores!
Stay tuned for the real winner of this bunch.
Nice video thanks for sharing
Glad you liked it
Nice video, nice tractor.
Thanks 👍
I like that one better than the one with the cab. I think that size tractor looks better without a cab.
Open station is much more stylish
Hope you’re picking up a mint Massey snowmobile
Well maybe.
With those Masseys you learn to float the gears like in a semi, then all of a sudden you realize that they shift great…..
Going to have to try that now.
There is a grease fitting on the shifting mechanism
Realized that after I got a manual for it.
Bro i wd like to buy a second hand MF any clues?
Is it another MF 300 combine ??? 1085 is a short wheel based rough ride 🤔
Just one massey 300 here.
That is a neat tractor 👍 looks like a easy tractor to climb up on.
@@b.abrackus6403 very ergonomic for the era.
Lol, widen the tires out some and let some air out of the tires, than you want have any problem with the ride !!!

They didn’t make a 1085 from the factory with a turbo !!
Get n touch with JT from JT’s barn and grill. Massey expert. Help you out if you need it
The all time best styling was on the 1100's, very hard to beat how those year and models looked, after that they went down hill!!
Agreed. I want an open station 1130 something terrible. Not easy to find though.
