loved seeing more about your shipping process! Not sure if they ship to Canada but I order from Eco Enclose (based in the US) and I love their company so much! And lower footprint of shipping from the US instead of China (where noissue is based)!! The packaging you designed is so cute :-)
i am so surprised to see that you sand on top of your underglaze designs!! are you not worried they will come off? or perhaps is it because you're trying to get rid of some brush strokes? i'd love to know your thought process!
hi! I sand on top because the speckled clay I use is gritty otherwise (and not as nice to hold for functional work!) the underglaze has never rubbed off from sanding, and I'd say even brushstrokes are visible after (though I usually do enough coats that they're not really noticeable / streaky anyway)! :-)
This makes me so happy to watch. My overstimulated older millennial life needs to chill from time to time. I’m just waiting because I’m buying me all the stuff I can from your shop 😂 much love ❤️
this couldn't have come out at a better time! I just got my work reposted on insta and got a few requests from US based customers. I was freaking out until I found your video! It was super calming. Just curious - what are your tips for shipping items over the border? everything is so expensive :(
I’m happy to hear it’s helpful for ya! not sure where you are but I use Chit Chats which is a Canadian based shipping service that offers slightly discounted rates! tbh shipping is still pretty pricey (I think on my site right now the flare rate is $24 based on average box sizes!) but: a) people buying ceramics usually expect that / respect that when shopping from a small business b) I have a policy that if the shipping cost they paid is any more than $5 over that I will refund some of the costs! when I first started I was worried $$$ shipping would scare people off but ended up losing a lot of money that way and it’s just not worth it! I hope that helps a bit more! 💕
This is such a business-y question, but do you feel like you spend a ton of your income on business cards, packaging, thank you letters, etc. or is it not that bad? I want to invest in making my packaging look more professional/cute, but I’m not sure If I should wait until I grow my business? How did you manage this when you were getting started? Would love to know ♥️
hmmm... when I first started I definitely made a bunch of those little add-ons myself to keep the cost low, but over time I wanted my brand to be a little more cohesive / cute and my sales had become more steady so I swapped things out bit by bit! until ~2 years ago I mainly used recycled packaging (bubble wrap that came in orders at the plant shop I was working at), drew on boxes with marker and made my own thank you notes. next upgrade was getting my thank you postcards from vistaprint when they had sales (they have them all the time!). as the business grew I invested in compostable peanuts and eco-friendly paper tape :-) I still don’t think I spend a ton now because I factor it into my pricing. there’s no one way to do it or a “right time”, but I kept costs pretty low while I was growing the business personally. also don’t be afraid to up your shipping costs a bit to factor in how much you’re paying for materials! yes it might seem a bit more expensive at first but the customer experience will be better and that might mean more repeat customers! I hope this helps / makes sense, kind of a ramble off the top of my head 😂💕
Your videos are such a vibe! I can't wait to get my hands on one of your beautiful pieces! :) Also love the compostable packaging!!!

I love your content 💜💜 and one questione: what app you use to make the thumbnails?
ty love! I just put them together in procreate, sometimes I’ll pop it into illustrator to do some fun wavy text effects ☺️

@@fromtreetosea thank you so much for the thoughtful answer! This is so helpful, and gave me some good ideas of what to do next ♥️
هل يمكن الشرب بهم ؟
I don't understand the need for sanding. Please tell me more.
the speckled clay I use can be quite gritty and a bit rough on the surface after it’s fired! I usually sand them down so they feel nice to hold :-)

I need 3 cups from you
