Jonathan Frid will always be my hero, as he was a WWII veteran, and a great actor! I wish I could have met him, as I would have thanked him for his service during the war, and given him a Remembrance Day Poppy! RIP!

I loved the show Dark Shadows. 😊😊
I still watch the complete series on Tubi. I'm on my 4th time. It starts with Dark Shadows the Beginning episodes 1 to 209. Then it goes to Dark Shadows episodes 210 to 1245. Barnabas doesn't appear until episode 210 when Willy opens the coffin and Barnabas grabs his throat. But Barnabas doesn't show his face until episode 211. The series is a lot better than current shows nowadays
I'll never forget coming home from school between 1967 - 71 between 4th and 7th grade and turning on the TV @ 4 PM and tuning in to Dark Shadows. It's been so long I don't remember the episodes. Recently I've been watching them on TH-cam and they're ever bit as good as they were if not better watching them as I was a kid. 🦇 🌹
I used to watch this as a child. When I watched it as an adult, I saw as amazed at how many of the actors I remember in a lot of other shows. 😊
I ran home from school to watch DS at 3;30 every school day
Me too 😅
Frid was a classic stage actor, well-heeled, when he took a very short term part on Dark Shadows as a vampire. He made his character so complex and compelling that fans of the show clamored for more. DS quickly became the Barnabas Show, and then later the Barnabas and Julia Show. My three favorite actors on DS are Frid, Hall, and Karlen. They were just magic for me.
When I was in middle school a local channel aired Dark Shadows reruns in the afternoon. I usually got home I watched it every day.
"He was raised in a traditional family with parents and siblings." I didn't know there were options! I was raised in a barn by a cow and a chicken! I always thought THAT was normal!!!
Soooo what was sad?
He didn't marry because he was gay
He was notorious on set for getting his male lovers roles on the show lol
Espero que no lo fuera
