The fact that you thought he spent too much time on Calvinism and the uses of the word "Predestination" actually makes me MORE interested in buying the commentary. There's simply not enough Systematic theology out there that refutes the repugnant doctrines of Augustinian-Calvinism. So ... YAY!😃

I remember a few years ago, Dr. Hardwood and Dr. Jerry Vines gave a series of messages in a conference (I wish I could remember the name). He gave a very well researched sermon on the topic of original sin. I became a fan. Thanks for reviewing this. I will have to check it out.

Wow, that’s a really glowing review! I’m generally suspicious of systematic theologies, but I think I may have to give this one read.

Congrats on reading this tome. I agree that he tends to give to much space to arguing against reformed theology and with the book being released so close to "Calvinism a biblical and Theological critique" I felt like I was going over a lot of the same ground. Looking forward to your reviews on each section.

Same. Although Harwood was probably well into his work before they even thought to write Calvinism: a critique.

NKJV and ESV for me. I also use the KJV from time to time but since I don't speak Elizabethan english I mostly use more modern english translations.
I also hold a Byzantine text priority position for the New Testament and for this I use the NKJV.
However, for the Old Testament I use both NKJV and ESV. I believe the Masoretic text has some errors that Masoretes made intentionally, mostly trying to deny that Jesus was the Messiah which we know they denied. For this I like to contrast the Masoretic Hebrew with the Greek from the LXX and taking into account the discoverings at Qumran in the Dead Sea.
Compare Deuteronomy 32:8 between NKJV and the ESV. I prefer the ESV reading. If wonder why i prefer it consult the work of the late Dr. Heiser and his thesis on the Divine Council.
I mostly read the Bible in Spanish and Italian though and there too I prefer Byzantine oriented texts.
P.S. I'm still studying biblical greek.

Why I only found this video very late?!! Btw, I am new subscriber in your YT. I am a novice on reading systematic theology book. But this book review of yours makes me very very interested on that one. I hope it would become available here on the Philippines in a very affordable price. Thank you pastor for letting us know this book. I really enjoy your content. GBU! 🤗

As a result of listening to Leighton Flowers interview his theological mentor on Soteriology 101, I've come to see Dr. Harwood's work as a viable alternative to Systematic Theologies coming from Calvinists and Amyraldists. By suggesting that this Theology should include a section on Israel, you'd make Arnold Fruchtenbaum proud as he has argued for the same thing.

Also, I WELCOME a view of Israel ad the church that is not a simple regurgitation of dispensational theology (which seems to be a misguided theology which is fairly recent - 19th century).

With ALL the texts on THEOLOGY...I hope you ask Dr H WHY he thought he could add or contribute to this field of historic doctrines. I mean, if you were even capable of writing such an intense work, WHY...what is the motivation?
