What are foundations? They are the underlying principles necessary for effective growth. In this book, Dr. Hodges reveals that God's grace is not only the foundation of our justification (eternal salvation) but also the basis for our sanctification (our daily walk). Through the lens of Titus 2:11-14, the reader will gain a richer understanding of:
- The Biblical concept of grace
- The Person and work of Christ
- The Gospel and the finished work of the cross
- The distinction between justification and sanctification
- The return of Christ, the judgment seat of Christ, and how these inform our daily living
- Law, liberty, and discipline
- The believer's security in Christ
Dr. Hodges makes these rich truths accessible for all and provides extensive references for the reader wanting to dig deeper. For the believer desiring a firm foundation in the grace of God, this book is a must-read!

I am not claiming that religious Christian Nationalism is non-political. The descriptor is about their theological foundation for their movement. Political Christian Nationalism has a secular foundation for their movement.

If Jesus came back today, today’s Christians would reject him and his message. Meanwhile, the selfishness of humanity continues to find war and capitalistic greed and profit the way to “live.” Global warming, mass migrations of people out of areas no longer able to sustain life, terrible droughts and fires in areas that never had them before and many intranational civil wars caused by increased competition for resources and power and many other ills brought about by humanity’s own selfish stupidity, operate to reduce global population. None of this will be enough to escape the effects of the melting of the ice caps and the oceans’ rise around the world. No one person, called Jesus or Geronimo or Sally Ann Jones will be enough to “save humanity” because as a species we are not smart enough to be less selfish in our capitalism in ways that can save the planet that we depend upon for life. God has nothing to do with this. In any event : God helps those who help themselves and so far humanity overall has been way, way too self involved to do that.

As a result, his clarity on the gospel and other issues suffered. I've been listening to a bunch of Early church writings to see what good food I can find there. This book almost immediately gave off red flags to me, and I could just sense that it was fanciful and should not be considered inspired or always true. A great example of the opposite and perhaps my favorite early church writing - the First Epistle of Clement. I'm not going to say we should have it in the Canon, but it at least did not contradict the scriptures, was a serious, dense book, and was an encouraging read to me.

Is your idea of “action” to follow in cult-like obedience to a person and political movement that is the antithesis of the gospels. Your argument about punishment for “others” seems to contradict the message to love others and make disciples. Bring people to Christ through love and support, not through laws and punishment. And you wonder why the church is withering.

I don’t think it’s true that Wilson’s claims will result in the collapse of major denominations. Most Christians blindly follow teachers and ideas without doing their own study, and won’t even take the time to consider if they’ve been misled. Most Christians gather in denominations where they feel comfortable, and a lot of our ‘divisions’ are along the lines of personality type, background, culture, etc.

I encourage anyone reading this to please do your home work on the Bible! Look up the history behind the KJV Bible. For 400 years the LORD's perfect WORD was preached from the pulpit, in the streets and in the nations worldwide, which gave rise to some of the great men of God, David Brainerd, John Wesley, William Booth, Leonard Ravenhill, David Wilkerson, George Whitefield, Charles Spurgeon, Reinhard Bonnke, Keith Daniel, Evan Roberts, these are just a few names, there are many, many more…… For 400 years this WORD bore the most fruit for the LORD's kingdom. People died to get this wonderful WORD into you hands today. Do not ignore the History! Then the Church fell asleep and believed the lies and deception of the devil, the arguments came, the divisions happened (Look at the history of the reformation) and the evil wicked men who worship the devil himself, conspired and diluted the WORD of God. Attacking the very deity of Christ Himself. Ask yourself this question…. Are you pleased with the fact that by reading these corrupt manuscripts you are doing the devil's work for him? Its not great surprise that this has happened really! Go back to the Garden of Eden……… Go read Genesis Chapter 2 and then chapter 3. Genesis 2: 16-17 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 3: 1-5 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. First the women added to GOD's Words, then satan himself changed GOD's Words! They cannot destroy God's WORD! (They being the occult and those who worship satan himself) but they can try and replace it and change it. Nothing new under the sun! Look into these modern versions and where all these corrupt manuscripts actually come from. There are some great resources online and I would recommend starting with these titles firstly; History of The King James Bible: God's Perfect Word What's the Difference Between Bible Versions? The Battle Over Christ’s Divinity | Changing the Word The King James Bible vs. Modern Bible Versions The Preserved Bible: Full Documentary on The King James Bible Why We Use the KJV Bible by Maverick University Why use the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible? Your Bible Says Satan is God! What's Going On? Here are just a few facts from these great resources: The New King James Version (NKJV) ignores the textus receptus 1200 times! The New International Version (NIV (NLT) (ESV) etc… has removed / changed over 66,000 words from the original tongues. (Tongues = languages) The man who owns the publishing house and copy rights of the NIV, his name is Rupert Murdoch and he also owns the publishing house and copy rights to the book of satan. Westcott and Hort who started this destruction in 1881, were atheist's and believed in evolution. These corrupted manuscripts NLT, NIV, NKJV, JW Bible etc…. all come from the Codex Alexandrinus and Codex Vaticanus texts, which they claim are older texts were actually found in a monastery burn pile ready for the fire by a man named Constantin von Tischendorf. All these corrupted versions, water down the message, destroy the anointed power that the KJV carries and remove or diminish Christ's deity. Look up William Tyndale's work (This man died at the stake to get this wonderful WORD of God in our hands. Look up Desiderius Erasmus work from the original Greek manuscripts. (Gospel of mark as one example; of the 620 copies he studied, he found 2 copies which ended on verse 8. These copies came from Codex Alexandrinus and Codex Vaticanus. The remaining 618 all contained the entire chapter of Mark 16 and come from the Textus Receptus) Given that I have just presented some these facts are you not concerned that maybe you have been deceived? At the very least you should go check this for yourselves! Now it's one thing to convince people to read a different version and in doing so, you water down the message, you diminish the power of the WORD and eventually get the Church to stop praying, when that happens, then you can infiltrate and put people under all sorts of spells and doctrines of demons and that's exactly what has happened. Just go look at the History of the WORD of God, then you will see! Psalm 12:6-7 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. Matthew 24: 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. Isaiah 34:16-17 Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them. And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein. Do you believe God has done all these great miracles we hear, read and see evidence of? If the answer is yes, then why do you believe the lies that He can't preserve His written WORD and WORDS then?

Your critique fails right from the start. You characterize it as either-or: Either the gospel is about trusting Jesus for giving us life, or about us owing our allegiance to Jesus. Bate's point is that it is both-and. Bates does not exclude Jesus' giving life to those who trust him. Bates adds clarity that the kind of trust involved would include faithfulness. You're not even addressing his point. So your critique falls flat.
