I'm in the same page as Dr. Harwood about the gifts. I'm glad to know that he arrived almost as the same conclusion as I. And btw, bro Shawn, I also know a story exactly like the one you told about China, which also happened in China; and that one I always tell it as a legitimate gift of tongues.

(by the way, posting as Jon Tretsven, Chris is my wife) Insightful questions, Shawn. You're good at this. Lots of good things. Let me list four concerns: (1) His response to what is the gospel? If you're including Jesus' dying for our sins as part of the gospel's content, it's a mistake not to have the resurrection as part of it. (2) I love his contextual view on the gifts but not necessarily how he supports the worldview part. He mentions Jesus' visit to Nazareth in Mark 6 and then says that Jesus "couldn't" do many miracles there because of their lack of faith. He should be clear to say their lack of faith didn't prevent Jesus' miracles, but He didn't do them because He did miracles to elicit faith. (3) To say the Church began with Abraham is a mistake. It began on Pentecost with the coming of the Holy Spirit. Some of the promises to Abraham are fulfilled through the Church, but that doesn't mean the Church (believers in Jesus' Name who've been baptized by the Holy Spirit into one body and Who indwells each believer). (4) Someone without a premillennial viewpoint will miss a lot of biblical truth because that view affects other aspects of theology.

Adam hardwood seems solid most of what I know about him has been through listening to Leighton Flowers. I know a chaplain in the Guard who I gave info on Adam Harwood, thought it was a cool commonality that they are both Chaplains. It would be cool to win a copy of the book, I am a Service Shop Tech but I do like to dig into theology , I left Calvinism about 2 years ago so I could use a good Systematic that is non-non-calvinistic.

Does he say what his hermeneutic principle is in the book? I’m curious especially with his (understandable) unwillingness to take a position on the millennium. I believe the application of the grammatical-historical method would invariably result in Dispensational premillennialism. Excellent interview and thank you both for your time and effort.

Watched the whole video, and have the systematic. Love it.
One topic I've been researching alot lately is apostasy, and I thought about that when Adam brought up the P in TULIP.
What are your thoughts on B.J. Oropezas 3 volume commentary on Apostasy in the bible. I bought all 3 on Logos for a great deal.
I did not find anything compelling on "eternal security from Harwoods systematic, but as he said, "it's not a debatable topic in his circles".
I take the position that believers can walk away from the faith, however, I'm not completely sold on it, but if we freely choose God, we should be able to freely walk away.
The lost of rewards in heaven argument does seem to hold strong enough evidence for eternal security (often the 4/5 point Calvinists stance).
The goal is to be a better biblicist as always.
    Any videos or book recommendations?

You mentioned one of the top five strengths of the book. What are the other four?
I've always felt that the book of Revelation is going to end up being a gospel booby-trap for the end times. Some parts are hard to understand right now, or at least hard to be sure that we have interpreted them correctly, but when those events are happening, they will be as clear to the people in the events as it should have been to the disciples on the road to Emmaus, and millions will believe.

See here's the deal... All 'prophecy' is vague. In many cases what we think is a prophetic statement seems more to fit the idea of 'see, this fits the way we have seen this before.' Is Jesus riding a donkey the fulfillment of prophecy or simply just appropriate for the king of Israel entering Jerusalem? I think the latter.
