Superduty Door Panel Swap

- Follow along as I swap out my door panels in my Ford F250. I have a 2000 and I replaced my door panels with a set from a 2012 superduty. I go through the details of how I modified my stock door to get the new door panel to fit properly and with good alignment. I go through the wiring but not the "how to wire" There are simply to many combinations. If you have 2000-02 truck and are switching to 2012-13 I have the schematics and pinouts for those years. You can buy them from ebay if needed or I'm sure if you would like to buy me a beer I could get you what you need.

Just did my door panels (00 with 08 panels). One thing I recommend is to swap out the inner window gasket. The newer ones will let the door panel set down and fit tightly to the door.

Nice work! I would love to see a video of the actual mounting of the seats and that center console! Looks like the fitment from the center console to dash isn't as bad as I would have thought.

The seats mounted in the exact same spot as the old ones did. The console also mounted in the stock jump seat location. If you have a bench seat you may need to drill holes but the nuts should all be in the underside of the floor. If I remember correctly I went over this with my back seat going from bench to 60/40.

@@shooshinejonnie Thanks for the explanation. I should have done a little more looking before I asked. I've been looking at putting one of those center consoles in with my factory chairs from my 2000 40/20/40 bench with the jump seat. I've heard some say it'd work some say it wouldn't. Do you think the mounting brackets would work with the older seat brackets? Thanks again for some nice informative videos.
@@LivingOnWheels I've asked in my group and someone said it can be done and has done it. Not sure on any modifications but I'm assuming it would be minimal. Now we all know what assuming can do. Hopefully this helps.

Thank you Mychael. The doors close fine. It does rub slightly. I haven't noticed anything wearing yet but haven't really looked that closely.
nice video. I have a 2000 that I am currently doing a dash swap (2008 dash) using McNasty Customz conversion kit. Ill eventually be installing some King Ranch seats in it as well.

How did you install the center console? There are 3 brackets front (dash mount), middle bracket (goes to the floor of body), then the rear bracket (uses the studs coming up from floor of truck body). I just did this install, seats and console from 2013 into my 2005 6.0. Curious if you drilled the center bracket into your truck body floor. I will also be doing the dash upgrade but waiting on the swaphelper modules to be released before I do the swap. Looks good! Your installs are very familiar to me right now! lol. I used your seat wiring. Thanks!
Thanks for watching and commenting. On the center console, I didn't install the front or the middle brackets. I couldn't figure out how to mark them to drill them out. I haven't had any issues with it so far. One time I leaned heavily on the very back part and the front flipped up a bit, but it's never happened again.

Good video and good information. I have a 1996 Ford F250 but has manual locks and manual windows. I would like to have newer door panels that have pockets in the panels to hold things, no power windows or locks in this truck.
How can I find out if I can put newer door panels on these old doors and if so, what years will work? Is there a reference book or site out there somewhere so I can get this information?

Thanks for the kind words. As far as the OBS goes, I'm not aware of any simple swaps but I'm sure something has been done. I've heard of doing full interior swaps from superduty to OBS, but I don't know any details. I would check on the Facebook page "powerswap nation." It's mostly geared for 99-16, but you may be able to find more info there.
What is that console out of?? I’ve never seen a flow through style console in any 08-16 SD…I’ve seen the expedition ones swapped in which look good, but that one looks really good…

are those factory mirrors? looked to see if you had a video on them but couldnt find it. ive got ford mirrors and was hoping to find a wiring video for them
They are factory style for 08-16. They are not oem. They are Dedc brand purchased on Amazon.

@ 17:25 after you clean or detail your truck, just spray the area with Silicone. It'll keep the abrasion to a minimum.

Where did you buy the whole kit from? My local junk yards never have any newer f250’s
I bought it from someone in one of the Facebook groups. I did have to drive about 7 hours one way to pick it up. Check out different Facebook groups such as Power Swap Nation. Check Craigslist. You can use searchtempest.com for Craigslist to search by regions or states to give you a broader search area in a short amount of time.

I just did the swap, and finish the door panels, the dash and im working on the gauge cluster. Almost done with the gauge cluster and everything works flawlessly. If you need help i can give you my number to send you picture and walk you through what i did.

Gunnar Easley I’m doing 2000 to 08 only problem I’m having is getting the lights in the door switch to come on is there a wire that I need to hook the led+ wire and led- wires too
I’m converting 2012 Ford F-250 panels to my 1999 Ford F-250 I bought a light up volt tester I found window up and window down wire but I also found one wire constant and two wires with nothing. I’m might be in over my head not really sure. Any advise ?

for the rear doors, did you use the newer door handle cups or the existing ones and trim them?
I used the newer style cups.
The you have a part number for door cups or year/model used when ordering? Ford has already sent me two different kinds and both were wrong (one protrude too much and the other was short in length).
Any pictures of the front end swap yet?
Nope. I never did the front end swap. I sold all my parts. Maybe I'll eventually get the newer front end (on a newer truck). 😁
There's kits for the dash. Definitely be a pain though
I'm thinking even with a kit it'll still be more than I want to deal with. It looks cool and all but at the end of the day for me it's not a good investment of time or money.
You going to do the interior as well or front clip
As far as interior I have done seats, console, and carpet. I had all the rest of it as well, front clip, bed, dash, etc. I decided against doing all that and sold all of it.

Functionality? Nothing. They are basically the same. They have the same function. It's mostly about the look or the continuation of the look for me since I had purchased them in a package deal.

Where did you get your speaker kick panels.
They were in the truck when I bought the truck so I have no idea where they come from. I've never seen a brand name or anything on them.

Also, is that new carpet on the floor? Did you order it online?
It came with my package deal. I bought nearly a complete interior and it was included in that. It works fairly well. My original door sills aren't quite as wide as the newer ones so I have a few threads sticking out.

I hava1999 f350 but got the hold interior out a 2008 f150 will it work including the dash
I don't think so. Completely different cabs. You can fabricate or mashup seat brackets for seats. Seats are a few inches more narrow than superduty. The dash I can't see working. I'm sure with enough money and time you can make anything work but just because your can doesn't mean you should.
08 will work, check out mcnasty customs, sells a bracket and has a video on how to

? Where do u find ur interior parts must newer parts are in insurance yards.
I found my parts from a guy that had gotten them for a swap and then decided to go a different route.
What mirrors did you go with?
Mikeynuts21 I went with these in the link below. I did however swap out the amber lenses for smoked LEDs to match the rest of the truck. Overall they have been very good. No wavy or shaky glass. Nice and solid.
