After I finished watching this, I thought to myself, "wow, they play all the great songs in the album." But then I realized they missed 4 of my favorites. That's what 10/10 album do to you all.

Three albums, three performances in KEXP. Alvvays consistent.
I feel differently about their first album though. I couldn't connect with most of the tracks in that one.

I don’t normally listen to this style of music but this band are out there in a class all of their own. The quality of the songs is just insane, and listen to the vocal harmonies in this session. They are a very tight unit musically, Sheridan on drums and the new bassist are excellent additions.
One of the best bands in the world right now in my opinion... They haven't released a disappointing album and are incredible live
Noticing just how intricate some of those vocals harmonies are. It adds an extra layer of atmosphere and mood onto all of these songs.

The previous two Alvvays KEXP sessions were a huge part of my discovery of this band, I replayed them endlessly!
So it made me smile to see this in my feed this morning.
Blue Rev has been a bit of a grower for me, and I realize now that as much as I enjoy the album versions, it's the live versions that I fall in love with.
For me it's Molly's vocals. They're too buried on the album, but more front and center here. (For the record I love the album)
I'm not in love with Blue Rev like I imagined I would. Hearing them here I'm coming around. Usually skate to !Alvvays. One day I'll give this album a whirl

Im completely in love with this album, it has so many landscapes, layers and emotions, Its hypnotic. Everyone's performance is solid AF, but I specially highlight Mollys writing and vocals, Alec's guitar and Sheridan / Kelly´s choirs. Molly sounds like a mourning angel, Its such a beautiful sound!!, and combined with those heartfelt and wisely written lyrics, she directly touches my soul. Alec's masterful control of noise, effects, melody and distortion is such a beautiful and colorful controlled chaos. And Sheridan / Kelly´s backing vocals and choirs also sound like angels, they give solemnity and grandiosity to the overall sound, almost like an opera.
I love popstars, but sometimes an introverted people band is much more intense.
It's the best thing I've heard in years.. I'm in love vvith this band.
They are, without a doubt, the best band making the best music currently. And that's just it!

As I experienced the toughest and saddest break-up of my career, Easy On Your Own is what all I needed to heal.
Tom Verlaine is my favorite track of 2022. Such amazing composition and the vocal outtro is fantastic.
Blue Rev is incredible, to hear what happened with the theft and flooding you can tell they came back swinging. I love the introspective memoir-esque side to alvvays and I wish them nothing but joy and love for as long as they're together. Thanks KEXP, for the awesome audio engineering and videography, and thank you Marco Collins, you did great for the 7 year hiatus. :)

@@chromebomb according to bandcamp "A watchful thief then broke into singer Molly Rankin’s apartment and swiped a recorder full of demos' they ended up finishing the whole album back to back in one day with 15 second breaks in-between!

I'm having a moment here. Marco Collins broke Nirvana and Pearl Jam and I vividly remember staying up late at night to listen to his show from across the water in BC. This dude is a legend.
Alvvays are doing Canadian surf rock and Marco is playing it and things are gonna be OK.
Tom Verlaine is unreal. Alvvays only gets better with each record. AOTY!

Also the interviewer seems like such a nice man. He had some fun questions and let the band talk as they pleased, he seemed to really enjoy it.
It’s been a long time I didn’t get so excited with a new band as I got with Alvvays. Their sound is so rich, unique, well composed, amazingly arranged & performed, it was love at first listen. And seeing them live in this performance is only a confirmation of how great this band is.

I love the discussion about replacing the national anthems at hockey games with Heaven is a Place on Earth. That is the most amazing idea I've ever heard and I fully support it!
Everyone go buy or stream Blue Rev at your soonest convenience. And play it loud, at shoegaze level so the waves of sound crash at the shores of your feet and you can smell the ocean from home.

This band fills me with nostalgia for the time when guitar was still cool and relavant. I hear shoegaze, britpop, grunge and many other good old musics from them. So beautiful.

Best 25 minutes in the history of music
The key change in Belinda Says is one of my favourite moments in music this year. This and the final chorus of BC,NR's Bread Song are just next level
AOTY. Alvvays has always been criminally underrated. This last album has been spectacular. They just keep getting better and better.
