Im completely in love with this album, it has so many landscapes, layers and emotions, Its hypnotic. Everyone's performance is solid AF, but I specially highlight Mollys writing and vocals, Alec's guitar and Sheridan / Kelly´s choirs. Molly sounds like a mourning angel, Its such a beautiful sound!!, and combined with those heartfelt and wisely written lyrics, she directly touches my soul. Alec's masterful control of noise, effects, melody and distortion is such a beautiful and colorful controlled chaos. And Sheridan / Kelly´s backing vocals and choirs also sound like angels, they give solemnity and grandiosity to the overall sound, almost like an opera. I love popstars, but sometimes an introverted people band is much more intense.
I love the discussion about replacing the national anthems at hockey games with Heaven is a Place on Earth. That is the most amazing idea I've ever heard and I fully support it!

Her voice is unreal, the song writing is incredible and their performance it perfect. one of the few bands that actually sound better live. love love love this album!
I don’t normally listen to this style of music but this band are out there in a class all of their own. The quality of the songs is just insane, and listen to the vocal harmonies in this session. They are a very tight unit musically, Sheridan on drums and the new bassist are excellent additions.
The previous two Alvvays KEXP sessions were a huge part of my discovery of this band, I replayed them endlessly! So it made me smile to see this in my feed this morning. Blue Rev has been a bit of a grower for me, and I realize now that as much as I enjoy the album versions, it's the live versions that I fall in love with.
I'm not in love with Blue Rev like I imagined I would. Hearing them here I'm coming around. Usually skate to !Alvvays. One day I'll give this album a whirl

Blue Rev is incredible, to hear what happened with the theft and flooding you can tell they came back swinging. I love the introspective memoir-esque side to alvvays and I wish them nothing but joy and love for as long as they're together. Thanks KEXP, for the awesome audio engineering and videography, and thank you Marco Collins, you did great for the 7 year hiatus. :)

I'm having a moment here. Marco Collins broke Nirvana and Pearl Jam and I vividly remember staying up late at night to listen to his show from across the water in BC. This dude is a legend. Alvvays are doing Canadian surf rock and Marco is playing it and things are gonna be OK.

This band fills me with nostalgia for the time when guitar was still cool and relavant. I hear shoegaze, britpop, grunge and many other good old musics from them. So beautiful.
It’s been a long time I didn’t get so excited with a new band as I got with Alvvays. Their sound is so rich, unique, well composed, amazingly arranged & performed, it was love at first listen. And seeing them live in this performance is only a confirmation of how great this band is.
It's such a spiritual relief to know that there is still music of realll substance coming out. I'm a big fan of lots of types of music but this stuff is just perfect.
Record's on repeat. Reminds me of the good old days of LP's for some reason. There's nothing groundbreaking or revolutionary about their new album and I can't even really tell what she's singing but it has been. on. repeat. Magic as whole not just a collection of good songs.

Noticing just how intricate some of those vocals harmonies are. It adds an extra layer of atmosphere and mood onto all of these songs.
