Welcome back Sir. I feel your "Health Issues!" Beginning in September 2023, I got Covid then 5 consecutive Head Colds with a Bonus of Pneumonia in late January. I had to cancel several Holiday Parties, Engagement Shoots and Local Chamber Events. My credibility on a Local Level diminished rapidly. I feel like I'm starting over. My R6mkII is collecting dust on my desk. Fortunately my next Event is a Prom photoshoot but I have until May to get my "Shoot" together. Pun intended. Thanks for the Lessons and Videos. Keep up the great material Speaking of 'Shutterfest 2024, are their similar Events in Southern California?
Get back to it as soon as you're ready! Your health always comes first. As for events, in 10 years I haven't been to a single event in that area. They usually take place in Vegas, NYC or St Louis for Shutterfest.
Hi Miguel ! Im a wheelchair photographer and i know how back muscles are important. Take care of Yourself 🙏 Best Wishes from Poland 🙏🇵🇱 Its true that old cameras are still great. I still have my old D3000 and D7200 and i dont feel this are bad. If You have creative ideas, just do it. Its all in Your head guys !
I know exactly what your pain was like, mine has gotten better over the years without surgery. Just be careful with what you do. Love to see environmental portrait photography. Probably like most people I don’t have a studio but living in California I never felt the need for one.
I've never had surgery before and am trying my best to avoid it as long as possible. Happy to hear that yours has gotten better. Its the absolute worst. As for environmental portraits, its something I've wanted to do more but have opted against due to the convenience of being indoors. I really love the look of outdoor portraits and the magic that each new day presents. With that, I'm really excited to make these new vids!
Welcome back Miguel, and very glad to hear you doing well after a tough start of the year! Look forward to what 2024 has in store and the Sonysaurus series!
Coming from someone who has struggled with back pain since 2005, it’s not easy. I found that diet, exercise and doing core strengthening exercises help me out. But I have to do it regularly. Take care of yourself. And can you do some run and gun photography videos?👍🏼
I feel for you bro. I never realized how many things are affected when your back is out of sorts. Thanks for the well wishes and I'll definitely take your advice!
Welcome back, brother! Glad you weren't seriously hurt -- but also glad you were able to have a break, with some time off -- it's necessary. Looking forward to your tutorials. I've always thought that TH-camrs like me (Hobbyist) sometimes have it "easier" than Pro's like you -- because of the challenges and requirements associated with running a pro channel. But for a lot of us who've been rocking with you from the beginning -- it'll be great to see you put out more of "YOUR" content. To that end - and your request, I've always loved your "how-to" content. Whether it's how to do a studio shoot with a single strobe; or how to use a strobe for an outdoor shoot -- those teaching moments have been instrumental in my photography journey. Do you, man and trust me -- we'll be here -- and ready to learn something new! All the best!
Great to see you back my friend! I will see you at Shutterfest 2024 and of course be in your TH-cam class. Can't wait to chop it up with you. Glad you are healthy...2024 has been a wild year but I know it will be better.
After being Facebook friends for a little while and following you on TH-cam for years I'm glad to have finally met you in person at WPPI this year. Thank you for the the update and look forward to your new content.
Take care of your back! Sorry to hear about your injury and then the flu!! I still have my first pro camera my parents gave me in High School, a Nikon F2. I'll never sell it.
I seem to remember you saying you wanted to do more cosplay content. Can't remember one since the last Spider-man shoot I think it was.Hope we get some more of that thrown in the mix. Good health until then!
Breaking my back June 2017 is how I got started into photography! I broke my L5 (waistband), I was told all my sports/motorsport hobbies were over so I had an old Nikon D50, I used to take it on short walks during my year long recovery. Well I became HOOKED, well flash fwd my back is 98% better, I can golf again but no motorsports. 6 cameras later, I now have a small portrait/headshot business on the side. STRETCH your hamstrings every day, you would be shocked how much it helps!!!
In college I was a hammer thrower. Throwing in the rain, I managed to rotate the disk between L4 and L5 by 10 degrees. Occasionally it goes and I'm absolutely worthless. I wish you well. Keep working the back recovery. Keep working.
Happy to hear that you are doing film photography. We talked briefly at Samy’s Camera LA event that you were starting film photography. Maybe start with your TLR? Try: Lomography Color, color ‘92, Kodak 120, Porta 400, 800
Its that time of year! Hope you've recovered well. I'm about 90% and ready to get back to it. Got a few new videos in the oven that will be releasing in the next few days. Excited to get back to it! :)
@@MiguelQuilesJr yes I’m doing much better. I have to admit you are one of the few photographers I still watch. It’s mainly because I love the way you interact with your viewers and I trust your information. Thank you, bro for your hard work and dedication. Ps during family portrait off season, i started doing pet painterly portraits - oh goodness! I booked up right away!!! Huge source of clients with little to no competition.
How long does it usually take to see a doctor there? Does urgent care exist? I can't imagine going more than a day with the pain I was feeling. Every position I could possibly be in hurt to the max.
i had flue for one month and one weak....and giving flue to others always makes me feel guilty, it's a dad issue, especially that both of us have a daughter :)))
The flu that's been going around lately is much worse than the usual stuff. My doctor was telling me that whatever strain is out there lasts a lot longer and has more side effects. I'm still coughing a bit but thankfully the entire family is feeling much better. :)
vitamin C with vitamin D and chicken soup...i didn't took any antibiotics , i tried but red spots where all over my body because of them, and i am not sensitive to any medicine!!!! very strange flue@@MiguelQuilesJr
I saw you at WPPI, and was going to say Hi, because I'm a huge fan, but didn't want to interrupt you. Now I can tell myself " see, you would have gotten the flu" so I don't regret it as much hahahahha. Next time!
I've pulled my lower back numerous times in my life, starting when I was just a teenager playing baseball in super cold weather. It's excruciating and nothing compares to it. Takes you out of commission for a long time.
Thank you! Still haven't hit 50 but I'll tell you what, I felt every bit of 43 when I pulled my back lol Definitely going to strengthen up this year so that this never happens again :)
Sorry about your bad luck, bad back injury etc. Get well & next time around before u make another camera rig via Sony Empire, get the FX30! Not the a6700! You certainly don't need a fake brain (AI) to push you along to help you get up the steps with the next shoot! They might even try to market the a6700 as a Walker, but I hate to tell you, it's just an overheating little monster! 😎😎
SHAME ON YOU!! You title this video with "I quit TH-cam". Do you know what that sounded like to your followers?... Not funny!... Nobody likes a bait and switch tactic. Especially from someone that has given so much to his followers in his videos....
The title is "I Left TH-cam, Here's What Happened". I'm sure given the current TH-cam environment, it appeared that after a lack of uploads for 3 months that it appeared that I quit. I had several people approach me about this over the last few months which led me to make this update video. There's no bait and switch, just sharing what happened.
Wait, I though you left TH-cam? But you're here telling us you left? Do the people at Google make you guys do this b/c tons of "TH-camrs" are supposedly leaving TH-cam, but are still around?

Take care of your back and health. Make sure you workout don’t let your body fade. Do some sauna and cold plunging to help with the inflammation.
Great advice! I'm looking on Amazon right now for one of those cold plunge tubs. I've heard a lot of good things about it.

Well, leaving worked, this is the first video of yours I have ever seen and had recommended to me by the algorithm.
