    Thank you! I have never seen PR 207 before. I love Holbein's Quinacridone scarlet PR209. It is my favourite.

      Holbein is a much loved brand I see that I have never tried ….it isn’t easily available here in Italy but I am curious…thanks for your contribution! Have a lovely weekend!

    Almost skipped past this video because I thought I had already seen it but no! A new video! I agree the colors are very similar. One or the other should suffice. Nice video Elisabetta. Ciao!

    PR207 is as I mentioned on the other video slightly more orange ish. But it gives similar mixes with the PR209. Just slightly more greyish ones when it is mixed with blue colours and that because its orange ish and not pinkish in its undertones.
    Anyway... Q. Red is a mixing colour. There are very few chances to use it straight from the tube.
    It is used to neutralize greens and blues and for making browns if you mix your browns with primaries.
    It is considered a primary colour along with a bright clean yellow and F. Ultramarine ( depends the combination of the primary triad, if you go for a warmer or cooler biased triad).

      You were absolutely right! I was happy I found a tube in my collection. I like very much this slightly more orangey version….

    This is a very useful video. I thought that PR207 and PR209 are the same but there is a slight difference. They’re definitely close and there is no point in having both on the palette.

    Thank you so much for being so flexible to come right up with a new video! I have the Schminke and the Qor one and I find them I bit more “Coral” actually next to the PR209 from DS 😄

    I have the Schmincke Horadam Quin red light PR207 and it's funnily very similar in hue to the DS Quin coral, but lighter. I like it very much 😊 can totally recommend, it's a very beautiful color

    I have PR 209 in several versions that I know as cherry quinacridone. It is a warm red with a sort of light nature when you paint it out, leaning ver slightly to orange, but surprisingly when diluted takes on a slightly bluish hue. I have a Schmincke, I tried to check the name on Jackson’s but they need to update some of their links… . I prefer it a lot to the denser reds as it is very good in mixes and a welcome change from cadmiums.

    I have the Schmincke version. It is indeed very delicate. It is not strongly tinting like PV19; it’s more medium tinting. It definitely is on the more orange side of red and far removed from the PV19s.

    I have both in Mijello, and it is indeed very hard to tell the difference between them, with the 207 leaning more scarlet. I like the PR209 best for that pinkish undertone. In florals it is unsurpassed. eTA- i think Rembrandt mixes much finer mixes and will lend to a more delicate look

    • @WatercolorElisabetta
      @WatercolorElisabetta  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m glad you find it difficult as well to tell the difference! I’m curious about Mijello because I have never tried it! Thanks a lot for your comment
