Bought one for £369 in 1977 just before they restricted them to 30 mph.Always breaking down until I realised the points casing leaked letting water in and causing a misfire.The throttle cable also snapped as it had a solderless nipple on the end and kept coming off.Looked great,alloys, clip ons, monoshock suspension,disc brake it was the Bimota of the moped world.
Nice one, do you remember the registration? There are 7 known UK original examples left, a high survivor rate from the handful sold originally. Fabulous bike and great to ride too with the close ratio gearbox.
@@fanticman Sadly lost in the sands of time, will ask my brotherif he can remember.I think one of them sold it as a bag of bits,I had a Capri by then n lost interest! Shame on me!
Me and my mates also had a Garelli Tiger cross,carb araldited together, we were always getting the bikes rebored with oversize pistons.We learned the hard way that Garelli engines do not have caged needle rollers on the small end, as they all fell into the crankcase as we tapped it out😅. Goodness knows how we got them out 😢! Glory Days!
I bought mine from Lloyds of Carlisle sept 1976 , nearly stuffed it on London rd as when I pulled out and turned right I found that their PDI missed routing the throttle cable behind a fairing stay so full lock stretched the outer applying full throttle. Eek. Should never have sold it regret it to this day
