Seeing all these comments really shows how ignorant most people are. Anyone can have musculoskeletal problems despite age. I was a toddler and couldn’t even walk right til way later than most. I had to have casts on my legs. Later on I was constantly told that nothing was wrong til I was 13. It took that many years just to get someone to tell me that I have osteoarthritis, patellofemoral pain syndrome, and fibromyalgia.

These lads are really brave and they’ll go on to do great things in life. Hopefully better treatment will become available in the future to make life easier for them. Ignore the ignorant comments below.

It sounds very much like rheumatoid arthritis. I got the disease in the early 20s and since then I had to give up so many things even thought I managed to stop its progression through 3 years of acupuncture treatment.

It is related to RA, and many JIA/JRA patients get diagnosed with RA later in life. They're both autoimmune diseases.

Arthritis burns out in children...you must be diagnosed early and have massive anti inflammatory tablets applied..

No it doesn't. I was diagnosed at 9 months old. I'm 19 now, going on 20 and it does NOT go away.

Yeah, but inside he's suffering. How do I know that? Because I got the same thing since I was 15. I may look normal outside but inside the pain is atrocious.
I feel that sometimes people like you should be getting these illnesses instead of small children.

@@mordfustang3794 I agree. I've had this same illness since I was 9 months old. I don't like to use the word suffer now because of harmful stereotypes it can perpetuate. But, looking back on it, as a child I suffered as well.

Juvenile arthritis is a range. It's an umbrella term. It's a spectrum. No 2 cases are the same.
