- Ello, today I’m out boat spotting as usual and bump into an old acquaintance who I helped moor up. It was a busy day with lots of passing waves, hello’s and chats. I hope you enjoy this video.

The little grey boat earlier in the video sounded as if it had a lawn motor engine! Small but cute. The newer cruisers all look very sleek in their design. I cannot see the water level going down much in the next few months. I was amazed when we walked back from Irstead Staithe earlier today how much water is still affecting the small lanes. I have noticed there have been dredgers clearing some of the much smaller waterways along beside the fields as the water levels were so high in some places near the river Ant.
Yes, we went through Irstead yesterday and today and they have marker levels and it was just below very high! In all my years that’s the highest I’ve seen that! Fingers crossed water levels will go down!
quite a few close calls , i think they need a lift bridge there lol , loved that little homemade job , but i think it needs some paint .

Hi Jonny. Came across your channel by accident but I'm glad I did. I'll be on the broads in about 6 weeks in Commodore from Richardsons. According to the boat details its air draft is 8ft 9ins but I've seen on some of your vids Commodore goes under the bridge with the height marker showing about 8ft.
Is there any chance you could state the height on the marker at the beginning of your vids ??

Hey Dave thanks for discovering my channel and welcome, the bridge height marker has hovered at about 8 feet since last year. I’ve heard from other subscribers that if they think you will struggle then they will offer you and alternative boat but don’t quote me.
A couple of weeks ago that was indeed the case , the commodores will get under when the bridge marker is showing 8ft 4
In a pinch they have been known to bring barrels to weigh down boats a bit - I'm down in about 6 weeks as well, on Barnes Brinkcraft Regal Star with my dad, apparently that's 8'8... fingers are crossed. Wondering how the level at Yarmouth will be, hoping to get to the south early in the week and then potter around the north nearer the end, looking at tide times... just hope they drop far enough!
