I wish you could customize your colors. So obviously SMS Texts would stay green but for iMessage if you could change it to any color besides green like red, purple, yellow, that would be awesome.
...I used to talk to my friend (we both have iPhones) in green color text cuz we didn't have a data plan. You can actually turn an option in the settings for that. Funny how green is associated with android lol even the it's technically not
this whole blue vs green debate is so stupid to me, like on twitter i used to think people were joking but some are dead serious when they say they won’t talk to someone with an android or if they don’t have an iphone generation 11 onwards. it's pretty disgusting.
Fun fact, google messages, one of the most popular messaging apps on Android, has light blue for sms, and dark blue for when it's using encryption, so you always get blue messages no matter who you text. They also have features like read receipts, typing indicators, reactions, and even end to end encryption, assuming the recipient has these features turned on as well. So android to android can be just as cool as iPhone to iPhone 🙂
@@The-Heart-Will-Testify yep, sms is terrible for sending images/videos. Try using something like Signal maybe. Samsung has this cool feature where you can create a link which will cause the file to be sent to the cloud in full resolution. It will also allow you to copy this link to your clipboard and/or share it to whoever you want; all they have to do is tap the link (they need internet access), and it will take them to the file. From there they can view/download the file and it will look as good as it did on the phone it came from. Now, this doesn't apply to your friend as they don't have a Samsung but thought I'd mention it xD
@@jonathantierney7301 It's called link sharing. Sharing link (contains files after accessing) through Samsung cloud. Any files can be shared using it even the highest quality. A bit sad part for some is it's default files is 5gb it will be stored in the cloud for 2 days the link will be expired/invalid afterwards. But that capacity is enough for me. This feature also makes me glad that I chose Samsung.
Advantage: Android, as SMS does support read notifications, which Android uses. However, there are settings to allow or not allow "delivered" and "read" notifications for the person receiving the message.
If you get blocked it won’t turn green it will just be there without saying delivered or anything it only turns green when they either don’t have service or changed there number or they use android🤷🏾♂️
One thing I found lately with the iMessage turning green is that often times it’s bad signal but when the recipient decides to text MY number the conversation is blue again.. it’s weird & it gives off the impression that I’ve been blocked since I tried calling them before & it goes straight to voicemail
I use a galaxy note 9 I got 2 days ago (new phone!) It's really nice everyone sees my green messages and I'm fine with that I feel if someone isn't ok with my choice of samsung than I think the person is obviously not a good person but lucky for me everyone respects me on my phone
Or use other messaging alternatives? In my country every single person uses this horrible Facebook Messenger, but u gotta adapt t the majority. Or should i move to the US just cause of this?
Meanwhile in China, everyone is on WeChat regardless of phone brand, and iMessage is more often used for spams (as far as I've heard of)... (Also, regular text is usually only for verification codes, and spams)
1:49 I'm a Brazilian and I can say this will never happen here, since iPhone is mostly used by reasonably rich people, besides the fact of SMS not being popular at all, so we very rarely open the native messaging app. Everyone here talk to each other using apps like WhatsApp, even iPhone users.
Haven't watched yet, but I'm guessing it has to do with the difference between iMessages and text messages. Text messages are handled by all smartphones, but iMessages are only handled by iPhones.
I had a mix of "it's based on cellular data and wifi" and recently "iPhone vs andriod, but why doesn't it show on their messages instead of mine" and now this explains this

@lucifer yeah. Moreover they’re more expensive in India bec of taxes. Ngl as an iPhone user I prefer blue conversations. It lets us know if that person got the message delivered and if they read it. SMS is slower too
Do a video about why apple lies about having support for up to 5 years! My iPhone 6s will be getting support for 7 whole years.
omg this is completely unacceptable!!!!!!!
/s of course
I have a iphone 6s too
I have a 6s+ actually. It’ll also be getting 7 years of support, and I’m glad because I was honestly afraid of having to buy a new iPhone since mine wouldn’t get iOS 15. But it will, so Apple is being nice to us for once.
@Beats Beats seriously though, it's one of the only good things about them
@@mbcommandnerd what ios 15 means to you
The really annoy thing is when you try and send a picture via iMessage and it goes green. Meaning it’s sent as MMS and cost you 50p 🤣🤬
I wish you could customize your colors. So obviously SMS Texts would stay green but for iMessage if you could change it to any color besides green like red, purple, yellow, that would be awesome.
That's impossible. won't allow it since it'll make ios users less likely to know which platform they're chatting with
...I used to talk to my friend (we both have iPhones) in green color text cuz we didn't have a data plan. You can actually turn an option in the settings for that. Funny how green is associated with android lol even the it's technically not
If y’all wanted to have blue both of you needed to connect to wifi
@@lifeisshrt7929 yea but if im outside I dont have wifi
Imessage is a different platform but its from Apple and the green message it’s the same but not send with the platform of apple its for the "global"
this whole blue vs green debate is so stupid to me, like on twitter i used to think people
were joking but some are dead serious when they say they won’t talk to someone with an android or if they don’t have an iphone generation 11 onwards. it's pretty disgusting.

No but that’s standard stuff, every messaging thing has that, except Google messages doesn’t have green texts.
That's why my friends with iphones always send me crap videos, I was confused at first because I thought iphone send high quality...
@@reubenmercado613 yeah, sorry forgot to mention the name haha
Neat feature though
To make it simple and brief
iMessage - blue
SMS - green
Advantage: Android, as SMS does support read notifications, which Android uses. However, there are settings to allow or not allow "delivered" and "read" notifications for the person receiving the message.
He showed a 10 year old Android phone instead of showing a google pixel 5,S21 ultra etc.
If you get blocked it won’t turn green it will just be there without saying delivered or anything it only turns green when they either don’t have service or changed there number or they use android🤷🏾♂️
The thumbnail of this video is brilliant
One thing I found lately with the iMessage turning green is that often times it’s bad signal but when the recipient decides to text MY number the conversation is blue again.. it’s weird & it gives off the impression that I’ve been blocked since I tried calling them before & it goes straight to voicemail
Finally something I already knew 🤣
But who uses iMessage/sms anyways? Like everyone i know uses whatsapp lol
I use a galaxy note 9 I got 2 days ago (new phone!) It's really nice everyone sees my green messages and I'm fine with that I feel if someone isn't ok with my choice of samsung than I think the person is obviously not a good person but lucky for me everyone respects me on my phone

Mine is blue but when I add someone new it’s green
I don’t hate the green message. I actually find it kinda cool.
Meanwhile in China, everyone is on WeChat regardless of phone brand, and iMessage is more often used for spams (as far as I've heard of)...

To bad apple does sponsor vids because you've definitely convinced me to switch with your channel
Really? I didn't like iPhones before I started watching this. Now I REALLY don't like iPhone. I just watch this channel for laughing at Apple plebs.
Text messages are handled by all smartphones, but iMessages are only handled by iPhones.
i think the green looks cool
Apple: *releases iblanket (yes I want that to exist)*
Apple Explained: "Your making this hard tim."
Also Apple Explained: "I can explain."
On the Mac computer it actually turns red when it’s an android phone
I had a mix of "it's based on cellular data and wifi" and recently "iPhone vs andriod, but why doesn't it show on their messages instead of mine" and now this explains this
It’s getting really silly with these short unnecessary videos
Why does the android look so clunky, that phone is from 6-7 years ago
To give a bad example I guess
If someone dumped me because I use Android then they were stupid anyway and it was a blessing
He said "iPhone users are less likely to date android users", i heard "iPhone users are shallow"
Hey said less likely. Which probably means that an iPhone user is 2% less likely to date an Android user. Which is the same the other way around - an Android user is 2% less likely to date an iPhone user.
@@Tom_Stevens617 Nope I don't think think so. I think one of the resons people buy an iPhone is because it's more of a status symbol than a fine tool atleast where I live. Even that is shallow. Also I don't think it's 2% or other way around
@@mellamoakshay Status symbol? The most expensive iPhone is 1100 bucks. The most expensive (non-luxury) phone is the Huawei Mate XS, which is ~$2700. Why does every comparison between an iphone model and android one have to be like the android model shown is from ice age era...bro if you're using the latest front display layout for the iphone from the most recent models, then why so despise over not doing the same for the android phone (Take Samsung's Latest models for example).
Sms supports delivery receipts but I just wish apple will finally get RCS support so all the people on android can see when you are typing or read a message and the pictures you send won't come out terribly
@Beats Beats Cringe
What is iMessage ? We have WhatsApp or Telegramm
@@Technikfix iMessage is an instant message service just end to end encrypted
@@linkgaming2144 but it's still proprietary bs and at this point there are sooo many IM's.. Even RCS is end to end encrypted and its not actually complicated to set up like this channel always says... It sets up instantly. We should have RCS become a minimum standard on phones at this point because giving Apple the ability to make messages sooo ass backwards if it isnt an iPhone even though carriers use the new RCS standard instead of sms is stupid.

Yikes.
What happens if you group text between 3 people that have a android device and then the number 4 person has a Apple device?

I just wish more of my friends used it. Even iPhone users barely check iMessages in India.
@lucifer yeah. Moreover they’re more expensive in India bec of taxes. We all just use WhatsApp. But it annoys me bec I really love Apple’s app, and I can share photos without them losing their property there, esp Live Photos. But end up having to receive them on shitty WhatsApp because that’s what they’ll use. (Unless ofc I asked them to AirDrop when we meet.)
I have always had green texts on my apple idk what’s wrong with it
Quick answer: they turn green when you text an Android number.
The video was a quicker answer.

he's the one who designed the android phone and the windows pc in wwdc21
But I’m texting someone she has a iPhone we are having a full conversation and it pops up as green she can’t see my texts but she texts me what does that mean?
You also forgot to mention RCS. RCS basically has non of the limitations of SMS but has all the functionality of iMessage like showing when someone is texting you and end to end encryption, too bad apple won't RCS because if they did they would be no reason for someone to buy an iPhone.
'If your android user and want RCS you either have to download google messages or turn it n in Samsung messages
Google finally implemented it, took them long enough
Totally agree with you. Unfortunately google took too long to implement its own "iMessage" thing on Android.. Now everybody uses that third party shit from facebook called whatsapp, and I still can't handle the idea of paying 8k bucks (BRL) on a apple device and immediately install whatsapp as first app for communication..
