Thank you for watching my video. If you use Word's list of figures or table of contents tools, the hanging indents should be created automatically by heading level. However, you can select individual items with the lists and then use you Tab key or the ruler method, if necessary. Best of luck!

@@erinwrightwriting Office 365. Whenever I try to do either of the options shown in the video, it moves all of the text in my document to the right and doesn't create a hanging indent, very weird

This is what I hate the most about English. All of this stuff is subjective and arbitrary, but if you don't do it then you fail and your future is ruined. If I ever become a writer for some god-forsaken reason I will deliberately ignore any and all rules in hopes of normalizing minimum necessary energy expenditure in this field.
