Notice the design similarities to McLaren. Of course form follows function in race cars for best down force etc, but still. Think of what Chinese cars were not many years ago, and you realize that the Chinese get know how from those at the top of the power pyramid just like Elon Musk for his Tesla cars. It has been said Tesla has not earned a profit since they started, so then we know who funds Elon & company!
But what interests me the most about this car is the the use of a hydrolic suspension, something Citroen launched in 1955 with their original Citroen DS. Pity the PSA group who owns Peugeot and Citroen decided to stop making the hydropneumatic suspensions for Citroen for super comfort.
The U8 turned out to be a PHEV and not a pure EV. If the U9 is also a much hyped petrol engined PHEV, that will be a major disappointment. Unless better batteries are developed, EV sportscars are not practical. I was hoping that BYD has a new battery technology for the U8 and U9. But that is not the case
Wrong. U8 has an electricity generator that consumes gas, it doesn't have a combustion engine like the hybrids do.
