@@aneesh8963 yeah but if you play on portal maps the destruction is the same as BFV, 2042 has less destruction only because there's too many big buildings where the destruction is limited.
The map design kills it for me. It's like D day but with modern weaponry and vehicles. Imagine storming the beach and being shot at by long range snipers, helis, tanks, etc. with no cover. That's this gameplay

Honestly I really wish they go back to first person animations like when getting revived or melee kills. Never liked third person when it comes to those things.

The game devs think that stealing stuff from other popular games makes their game better, but it actually doesn't. If i would want crap like fancy skins, operators etc i would just play those games, but i want the battlefield experience. Large scale battles, destruction and epic "battlefield moments".

The HUD changes are good, but I especially enjoy the 6 new awesome maps, 4 new vehicles and 12 new kick-ass guns they’ve released over the last 6 months as promised. … oh, wait.

I’m a huge battlefield fan. I genuinely hope they fix this game like for real. This looks like a step in the right direction for sure…it’s just going to take a little more than this to get me to re-install.
they wont cause the core gameplay and maps are fucked up as well, bug fixes wont bring this game back

There’s such a huge difference between “right track” and “fixed”. I genuinely had fun playing this game on release…. For 30 hours. Then I got bored, the games got repetitive and the lack of interesting things to do in the multiplayer grew to be too much. I’ve moved on to other games now (hell let loose and hunt showdown to name a few) and it’s going to take major content increases for me to give this a go again. In the mean time I’ll continue playing games made by smaller studios that provide far more replay ability.
The hardcore servers are quite fun in portal now since the update has slightly improved performance
You say right track and fixed.... Was the title of the video previously "fixed"?
@@Pr0hunt3r18 no, I’m just saying that because I’ve seen lots of content creators are saying things are looking up for 2042, but I’m not ready to jump back over until things have actually improved/been added. I will admit the fact they are fixing attachments to be unique was close to getting me to redownload but I’m still waiting for at least a few more guns.

I think its safe to say, alot of people don't want BF 2042 content the game burned the community and has been dead since launch, they would have to pull of something absolutely crazy like removing operators to bring any amount of people back.
Replacing operators with the class system is the absolute best thing they could do
Remove operators. Map rehauls and ppl would probably pick it up
it still has a very long way to go, however
I really just hate the operators in general, the gritty soldier classes made more sense and looked way better

Aww I kinda like the hero shooter though.
My change would be the characters. Just make them random soldiers with abilities so its somewhat realistic.

I just played a couple of rounds, at first I was happy with what they had done then I realised that they had set the bar so low that it would be hard for them to make it worse

If this was the state of the game at launch, it still would have kinda sucked. But yes, I suppose any improvement is good and we should welcome it. Hopefully they can continue with this pace and we might just get a playable, fun Battlefield game at some time during the summer.
yeah this game is beta at best and its been out for months
Summer is optimistic they’ve patched up a crack but the game is still a wall of cracks.
Definitely agree the udate is definitely cleaned up alot of the mess hopefully they can take it and continue to keep up the improvements.
At this pace? Try a year atleast.

If it launched in this state I genuinely believe it wouldn’t of lost so much of its player base. How the hell did they not have voip at launch in a heavily team focused game?
Regardless, if we can get a decent optimization and content update I believe it can make a comeback.
The devs have a lot of work ahead of them but this update gives me hope they can pull a BF4.
@@cadenyancey580 You know I really value the VOIP system but you know the first thing I and my squad mates did when we booted the game yesterday, disabled it lol so our cussy words didn't accidently leave our discord. Regardless of that though, I played 6 games yesterday and didn't hear a single person talking, I wonder if people just don't usually talk in games like this. I rarely hear people talks in other BFs too. The last time I heard people actually utilizing the system to its full potential is Overwatch.
@@raikozy35 You are completely right, VOIP is mainly being used by people who want to play crossplay (Console mixed with PC) so you can be in a party and communicate while hearing the ingame sound.
Most random people will not use VOIP in BF2042 unless they are going to play a mode that has tactical gameplay in it, if its just huge all out warfare with 128 random players running across the maps just to capture points or kill people then there is little to no use for VOIP.
@@raikozy35 Gotta say that its the same with COD, the only reason you hear people using VOIP in matches other then S&D is to be ultra toxic at the end of the match or to scream for hot mic's when killing a person.
This was never a thing with Battlefield games, the only games i had really good interactions with people were Insurgency Sandstorm, Squad, Rainbow six siege, Ready or Not and alot of other tactical shooters.
The turret pop on mbts is realistic, it comes from munition store detonation from either direct hit, fire or armor spalling. Cool you pointed that out.
Happens mostly with the mbt that has autoloader.

in past battlefield games this was one of like 4 different destruction animations for tanks
now we get one repetitive one

Once they have added faction unique skins for each faction and removing the cringey voice lines then it will be alright but I think there needs to be just more content like more guns more vehicles and more factions like with the setting of the game we could see a Chinese faction?

@@UnknownDino because in bf4 for example if I was getting bored of M416 I could use ACR or weird gun like the Chinese bull pup variants. Also the gun DLC challenges kept me playing Bf4 until the next came out, the highlight of the game to me were the DLC challenges
And a squad voip, all chat, scoreboard at the end...
the right track was missed months ago, during the beta, when it was revealed how far from finished the game was and how little there was to like on a foundational level. 2042 is just gonna be forgotten come next year, like firestorm and hardline before it

The game was finished, it just was only finished to what was sufficient, no man’s sky wasn’t finished, fallout 76 wasn’t finished. Take a look at gaming history than tell me it was “unfinished”.

I’m actually excited to try this. I can get past a lot of the issues people have with this game, but the performance and bugs made it unplayable for me. Also so hyped for the vehicle grappling finally working properly

Jack, the blue icon you thought you saw above an enemies head was actually the icon for a friendly player who was above on the roof. :D
About bugs, the only bug i've seen so far is on the end round screen when your squad is standing on a line. For me they stack up so all four is shoulder to shoulder at the end screen.

Happened my first game after the patch and I was like, ‘oh no’, more bugs, lol
They need to remove the operators and divide out the gadgets between the classes.
I hit level 65 and have no reason to play anymore except the attachments for the guns.
They're definitely not going to remove the specialists.
The new change that shows what weapons and gadgets your squad is using helps with this.

Facts they need to go or just stay in hazard zone because then at least us true battlefield fans can enjoy og battlefield while the other's can deal with the operators in hazard zone.
They really do "Release now, fix later". We shouldn't appreciate it.
In regards to ammo and health packs I still feel like they should bring back the ability to grab packs off people from BF:Hardline

Tried using VoIP in a couple matches since the patch came out, but I'm not sure if it's working properly. I noticed I had a squad member that was attempting to communicate with us (the little "noise" icon would appear by their name), but I couldn't hear anything and vice versa. Fairly certain I had everything setup correctly, so I'm curious to hear if others have had success with it or encountered the same issue I did.
They only added the option not the full feature

When Rao takes damage he spots you (just for himself) and when Paik damages enemies she spots them for everyone
Well she does have that head radar thing so that would make sense
@Mo No how so? Paik sees the target and is on the offense while Rao doesn't always, and is in what would be a defensive position. If he is in the offense position and hacks the enemy and remains unseen all team members can see on the mini-map.

I only use the dm7 because it looks like an ar15, idk why they chose the weapons they did in 2042 especially since there are so few compared to most fps games
@@detcader_ The M5A3 is the equivalent of the real life Sig Sauer MCX Spear, the 6.8mm rifle currently in the US Army competition for what weapon will replace the M4A1. Dice predicted that Sig would win the bid over the General Dynamics and Textron competitors based off of what information is available to the public, and added the M5 because in real life it’s highly likely that THAT will be what replaces the M4A1. This is the reasoning for No AR-15-esk assault rifle.
@@Wasattsi task & purpose, yh I get that it’s meant to be future n that but it would of been cool to see a super modern m4 in a casual game like bf. They could of had the sr-25 as a dmr and a modern m4 aswell as the m5a3. Also such a small amount of guns compared to bf4 and other modern military shooters

I'll definitely check out the new update. I don't think it's going to bring me back fully but at least I have a reason to jump back in even if it's temporary. Still a bit bummed you don't get XP for damaging a vehicle that someone else kills.

As a battlefield fan I really hope they can do a full 180 on this game and fix it but I don’t have my hopes high, just want a dark gritty battlefield that gives me tarkov vibes

I started playing battlefield with BF4 and have played all of them since and also went back and played a bit of BF3 and BFBC2. As someone familiar with the series I knew and expected to wait a bare minimum of 6 months after "launch" for the game to be in a playable state. Yes it sucks that battlefields can't release in a working state but also since nearly every release was this way since BF3 any long time players should of known better than to buy this day one.
I cant get over how visually more appealing, BF1 and BFV are to this title.

Got on it yesterday and it was pretty ok , like the tech vibe .
I have noticed a few new hud, sounds and graphics glitches, but at least the brokenness feels remedied.
They finally managed to make a decent update, the game feels better to play, but there's still a long way to go
My only issue with the game is matchmaking… I haven’t been able to get into a game with people the 5 times I tried so I just gave up
The level of daily players is extremely low for what is supposed to be dices main game
same i actually gave the game a try last week and couldn't get a game. everytime i got put into a server with no one in it. that was the last time i gave this game a chance. less than 1k people playing this game atm.
played the trial recenty (not for that long as it was like midnight) but it seemed better from the little I played and might buy it if I find it for like £10
A bit if a side note, turns out that dice naming the mcx spear the m5a3 aged pretty well since the us army is now adopting it and naming it the xm5.
They need way more content sooner than later... more weapons, gadgets and attachments. The game just lacks so much and their updates are helping, but not enough.

The turret thing is for autoloading tanks from my understanding. Its how the rounds are stored for the auto loaders compared to manual loads

The color of the scar is different also it was all tan now it’s 2 tone…the reload bug seems to be fixed too didn’t get it once earlier when I played
You can tell it runs and feels better like the spread with no bugs. Just want them to fix the voice lines and new maps and guns
I like this game but I wish they had certain gun classes and gadgets for each operator and alot more weapons and maps the core gameplay is fun I like the movement and gunplay but it lacks content, the thing I loved about bf4 was the amount of weapon variety and customization it had , I would of been happy if they realesed battlefield portal as a free to play game and focused all their development on 2042 weapons , maps , gadgets, gameplay ect I also think they should port all portal weopens to 2042s multiplayer

Looking good. The biggest improvement would be to the environment and assets. It doesn't feel alive. Everything is wrapped in Teflon and washed down with baby oil. In previous games there was rust and decay, elements of aging and upkeep in an environment of destruction and war that heightened detriment, despair and glory of achieving the objective.
Everyone is sick of bfv and fanging for something that is good and new. If 2042 has finally pulled their finger out and has a proper game going I can accept a lack of aesthetics.
They’re addressing that in an upcoming update
Lets just not praise these minor changes too much shall we :D

If this game gets any more players, I feel that weapon of choice will be:
M5A3
-long barrel
-smg ammo
- any recoil grip
- any close to mid scope
The M5A3 is definitely nice when it comes to being a laser, but as a counterpoint, I’d vouch for the LMG’s. They’re very underrated and I have both of them tier 1’d. Close range hip fire is viable, and with the Maul 1.5x-3x scope, you have range options. Not to mention the 200 rounds you have to work with. It’s my go-to choice
Playing on orbital today jumped off helipad and wing suit into the corner of building the whole way down and got under map and in the wall just like operation locker glitch
